The article Saeed Aasi has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Saeed Aasi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Removing AfD template

[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Saeed Aasi. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it.—cyberbot I NotifyOnline 14:38, 14 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for edit warring and violating the three-revert rule, as you did at Saeed Aasi. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 17:49, 14 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Ronhjones: Please review this administrative action.  This may be WP:BYTE.  "Vandalism" has a specific meaning on Wikipedia, and content contributions are not vandalism.  Although it appears that requesting contact information may violate WP:TPG, the request for the purpose of providing evidence hardly seems to be justify a characterization as "threatening".  I present those two points as specific flaws in the request that resulted in this block.  Further, the initiator is editing an article he/she has nominated for deletion.  IMO the removal of material and references is questionable from an article he/she presumably believes to be worthless and will soon be deleted.  Furthermore, the content contributor here may be an experienced writer with a knowledge of Urdu and access to sources on many topics that remain uncovered on the English Wikipedia.  Thank you, Unscintillating (talk) 00:52, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I never said vandalism. This was a straightforward violation of WP:3RR - the edit summaries on the history page shown 3 clear "Undid revision", plus one edit of content removal all within a couple of hours. Creating articles directly (rather than using articles for creation) is always very difficult (if not impossible sometimes!) and one has to be confident of the requirements of the policies to do that.
