In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button Insert-signature.png located above the edit window. Re: help[edit]

The best thing to do is to start a discussion on the article talk page. -Reconsider! 10:53, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Thankyou, that sounds good. --Shmilyshy (talk) 12:24, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of ISO 965[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article ISO 965 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A non-notable topic with no third-party references.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Wizard191 (talk) 18:28, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Have added 3 third-party links added for further reference on notability and application of ISO 965 series. Kindly check and revert. Shmilyshy 08:20, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

I like ref 5, but it doesn't support the text you applied it to. I recommend that you remove that section, because Wikipedia doesn't need the table of contents of the standard. Instead you are better off copying those table from ref 5 to the article. HTH! Wizard191 (talk) 12:33, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi, Wizard191 many thanks for your valuable time and input, i have made the changes accordingly. Shmilyshy 09:57, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

It's looking much better. Thanks for the effort! Wizard191 (talk) 12:23, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for helping out with the coordinates. However, the coordinates you added were invalid. I will attempt to deduce the correct ones, and if I fail, I will revert your edit. --Stepheng3 (talk) 21:16, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi Stepheng3, Incase of Radio Stations, i take the address of the Radio Station from the official Website or the broadcast area. Will check the same and make changes. Many thanks. Shmilyshy 07:08, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi, Shmilyshy. Latitude is always in the range from 0° to 90°, so 131.911714°N could not have been correct. I think the extra digit in front of the latitude should've been a minus sign. --Stepheng3 (talk) 15:50, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi Stepheng3, you are right, i guess, missed the - sign when i copied the coordinates. You have make the required changes, so all is well. Thanks.Shmilyshy 05:09, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

Earthquake article coordinates[edit]

Hi Shmilyshy, I removed the coordinates that you added to the 1909 Lambesc earthquake article and replaced them with much less precise, but sourced coordinates from the NGDC online earthquake database here. If you need coordinates for an earthquake, then this is a good place to look first. For events not in this database, let me know and I'll try to find a source (I know of a number of other catalogues worth checking). Cheers, Mikenorton (talk) 10:46, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi Mikenorton, Many thanks for the link provided. Will refer the NGDC for earthquakes henceforth! Have to admit that sometimes it becomes very difficult to guage the exact place specially in cases of earthquakes, which affect multiple places. Shmilyshy 05:48, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

With luck someone else has normally done all the hard work of identifying the epicenter. Cheers, Mikenorton (talk) 07:47, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:27, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Ongole Cattle[edit]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Ongole Cattle, and it appears to be a substantial copy of

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

Dear MadmanBot, You are right when you mention that the contents are similar. Basically because the topic is about a Cattle Breed in India and as such most of the descriptions or contents will be similar or synonymous. I suggest you kindly go through the page and let me know if further language modification is required. Or please suggest alternate method of describing the same please. Thanks Shmilyshy 09:56, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

*cough* You can use the description as a source of facts, not prose. Doing the latter is intellectually lazy and violates the copyright policy. Write it in your own words. MER-C 13:06, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

Article about Radha Thomas[edit]

I am currently working on the Wiki page for Ms Radha Thomas. She is an Indian jazz singer and songwriter. In fact, she is known as a diva in the Indian jazz scene. She previously was with the band Human Bondage and has sung and performed globally. The article is still under development. I haven't completed it or submitted it for review yet. You can have a look at it at: I will be requesting your help and advice (as usual) in making it conform to all Wiki standards. If you do a Google Search for Radha (,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=f6ee012440c72a74&biw=1024&bih=509) you will find dozens of articles and links to her work. As of now, the article is still under development and I will come bug you for help soon! Varunr (talk) 06:41, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi. I have completed the article about Ms Radha Thomas and am contemplating to move it to the AFC space. Before that, I'd really appreciate if you could have a look and give me some inputs, suggestions and advice and hopefully a green signal :-). Disambiguation link notification for July 23[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of IIIT - Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sri City, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh[edit]

Hello Shmilyshy,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged IIIT - Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sri City, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Crispulop (talk) 13:59, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link fixing one-day contest[edit]

I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 02:26, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
