How do you tell how many characters are in an article? Shrewpelt 21:40, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hello. You can copy/paste the text into a Word processor or some of the better text editors, and there will be a character counter in the Tools options. Nerwen 21:45, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Thank you very much! Shrewpelt 21:49, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit]--Circeus 03:27, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have perfomed a web search with the contents of Platysaurus intermedius, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.tallbo.com/platysaurus/p_intermedius.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 18:10, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Platysaurus intermedius. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. —DerHexer (Talk) 18:13, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

How can I fix a page which is copied from a website? Shrewpelt 18:16, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Assuming the bot is not in error, you don't hold the copyright on the text, and it's not in the public domain, I'd suggest rewriting the article (as the template on Platysaurus intermedius suggests). Just change the sentences so they are no longer verbatim: instead of "Male P. i. whilhelmi have a dull olive-green to brown back with a few, scattered whitish spots", say "Male P. i. whilhelmi are colored green or brown with white spots." See WP:CV for more information. Hoof Hearted 18:32, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Novels WikiProject
[edit]Hi, and welcome to the Novels WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to fiction books often referred to as "Novels".
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated quite regularly. You can watch it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WikiProject_Novels_announcements}} there.
While you are updating your userpage, don't forget our userbox {{Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Outreach/User WPNOVELS}}. - The project has a monthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered as a link, but other methods are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Starting some new articles? Our article structure guidelines / template outlines some things to include.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the members, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 09:02, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Great Comet of 1882 GA/R
[edit]The article Great Comet of 1882 has been improved somewhat since it's nomination for GA/R. I was wondering if you could re-review the article and, if you feel it's now up to spec, change your Delist vote. Also, generally speaking, a lack of images and overall length of an article aren't grounds for delisting. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks! Drewcifer 06:28, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
If you didn't know already
[edit]You asked - on the Inheritance discussion page - "Who is the sword maker in Du Weldenvarden who makes swords for the Dragon Riders?"
I think the sword maker was in Ellésmera, and her name is Rhùnon. She made Zar'roc.

Venus
[edit]I saw you proposed a task force on the planet Venus and it was commented on that perhaps the topic was too narrow for even a task force. It might be, but might I suggest you try what I did to help improve articles over a narrow topic range, I just set up a collaboration in my user space, you can see it here: User:IvoShandor/Black Hawk War. We cover one war, and have only four collaborators but we have gotten loads of work done over the last few months, feel free to model something similar after my pages. :) IvoShandor 16:26, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
