Can you find additional text for Anantashayana Vishnu which is back on the nomination page?--Nvvchar. 08:32, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
Ranganatha
Sorry to disappoint you. There are too many Ranganatha temples in South India and will be difficult to do justice limiting the coverage to a few temples only. I did not find book references on the main subject of Ranganatha only. Most temples of Ranganatha have been covered. I am currently busy with a 17 articles DYK Hook on Provinces of Laos in association with User:Dr. Blofeld and User:Rosiestep. I will be in touch with you by next week.--Nvvchar. 07:36, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
Shaktism
Thanks for the invitation. I have added mu name to the list. Can you find some book references on Google books on the Bimala Shaktipeeth in Puri and two Shakthi temples in Pakistan and three in Bangladesh?--Nvvchar. 05:57, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
- I am OK with Vimala Temple or Bimala Temple. But I found most references calling her Vimala, also Orissa gov site. --Redtigerxyz Talk 17:49, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
Re
I am not very familiar with the format of this site as of yet--please forgive me for that.
My name is William Clark and I am a Kali bhakta with a broad knowledge of Indian culture, particular the shakta traditions of West Bengal. I am currently developing a website featuring my written essay, photography, and recorded music. The focus is on exploring the Shakti Piths. During my last stay in Kolkata I initiated the project and will be developing it over the course of years,
You can see my work at www.kalibhakti.com
I speak Bengali and have basic Hindi knowledge. My primary passion is in music, so I have an extensive collection of music from around the world with specialized knowledge of Bengali folk music traditions, and Kali devotional music known as Shyama Sangeet. In the USA, I have studied such things as Tabla making, Mridangam, Tabla, Harmonium etc. to gain familiarity with my chosen field of study.
What you are doing sounds great and I would love to help, but right now I am very tired and must rest.
Feel free to contact me through email: kalibhakta@gmail.com
Thank You,

A bowl of Rajshahi mangoes for you!

Sorry that they're only virtual mangoes, but that's the best we can do in Wikipedia. Thank you for noticing a small repetitive effort on some pages about temples in Bangladesh. Sminthopsis84 (talk) 14:56, 22 November 2012 (UTC) |
What text classifies these four as Adi Pithas? What are your references? I could not find any while researching on Vimala, Puri Pitha. --Redtigerxyz Talk 18:20, 22 November 2012 (UTC)

I am sure all issues raised by you have been addressed with the DYK nominated by Redtiger.--Nvvchar. 03:04, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
I have read the article you edited long back on the above fort. Please see my article on Bengaluru Pete which was a DYK and has many references which could be sued to expand the fort article. I will also pitch in a little later, as the original article was started by you.--Nvvchar. 07:39, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
You may like to see this Hinglaj Mata developing into a fairly big article. Yes, I will see what I can do with Bangalore Fort. By the way are you stationed in Bangalore as I have seen a number of your articles on subjects related to Karnataka.--Nvvchar. 09:48, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
I have expanded Bangalore Fort. I suppose now with the additional text it will be 5x expansion ( without the quoted text and infobox and imgs). You can add or edit and nominate it on DYK with a suitable hook as you are the first writer of the article.--Nvvchar. 03:04, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
- I am in favour of the daughter-in-law hook for the DYK. Insert an img also of the fort in the infobox.Nvvchar

Jagannath is referred to as Krishna by many WP:RS. He is primarily a Vaishnava deity. This needs to be noted in the lead. I have collected a list of encyclopaedias/dictionaries/RS that define Jagagannath as a form of Krishna. As before, I will equate Jagannath with Vithoba, a god with many identifications (Buddha, Shiva), but primarily Vaishnava (Krishna-Vishnu). Also, the Krishna is more ancient than 90 years. It is at least found in Sarala's Mahabharata, in which Krishna's corpse somehow transformed into the Jagannath icon. --Redtigerxyz Talk 17:51, 1 December 2012 (UTC)
- Let's keep the discussion at 1 place Talk:Jagannath (instead of my place). Redtigerxyz Talk 10:28, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
- I could finally locate the book titled " India: a Divine Destination by Aruna Deshpande". I have corrected the Vaishnava legend based on this book (relevant text on pages 266-67). You have edited the article very well but there are still sections which are unreferenced. I have completed my inputs to Tulsi in Hinduism and requested Redtiger for a final look for posting on DYK today. We could not post the Shivaharkaray as more book references could not be found.--Nvvchar. 09:01, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
Shaligrama was the first article I posted without knowing the rules of wikipedia, several years back. It was shifted by one Gauranga original author of the article to the talk page of the article. It runs to 25 pages. It has been published in Kannada language. i don't think I would venture to work on that now.--Nvvchar. 10:05, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
- will take a look on Saturday at Jagannath. First look: Lead needs expansion. --Redtigerxyz Talk 17:37, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
DYK for Vimala Temple
On 4 December 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Vimala Temple, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that amorous couples and erotic scenes are depicted on the outer walls of the Vimala Temple? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Vimala Temple. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:03, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
I think the above article is already long enough and has covered most of the issues. I will see whAT more can be added. I am A Sri Vaishnavite of the Ramanuja sect, as you may have noticed from mu user page. I know that Ramananda was also a Vaishnavite who followed Ramanuja's teachings and played a great role in spreading Vaishnavism in Orissa. I will read the book reference you have provided to add more on Jagannath article. It is a time consuming process and has to be done carefully as you propose to submit this article for GA upgrade. In the mean time, can you work on creating Five Thirthas of Jagannath (Markandya Pond, Ocean, Banyan tree identified with Krishna, Raihuneya (Balarama) and Indradyumna pond) article and expand Gundicha Temple article. Tulsi in Hinduism has been nominated by Redtigerxyz. At present, I will be busy for the next three or four days with expanding 17 articles of Provinces of Laos with my other collaborator friends.--Nvvchar. 06:10, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
Yes, certainly. Have a look at this article Anantashayana Vishnu, which I have completed. You may like to add and correct the red links and district names. It needs a little more text to make it 5x expansion for DYK. You may nominate it also on DYK.
- Please the following references provided by Redtiger. I am not sure of the first reference as it is the same place as Gundicha in Puri as there is no Narasimha image there.
- History and Narasimha as presiding
- [1]
- [2] (Krishna with gopis theory)
- [3] Lakshmi, daita, devadasi.
You may please add from the above in the Gundicha Temple article.--Nvvchar. 10:21, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
- You are welcome to add an Alternate Hook for the Anantashayana Vishnu DYK. I agree with you that the first reference suggested relates to another temple of the same name as Gundicha in Sonpur. I have now added two paragraphs under a new section of legends. You can add one more para from the fourth reference. There are a few words in Oriya language, which need an English equivalent to be added by you. Also, the last para in the lead section is not referenced. Can you find a suitable reference or otherwise it could be deleted? I have partly read through the Jagannath article. You need to reference every paragraph and avoid repetition. There are some bare references, which need to be converted to the regular format of references for web sites, journals and books. I find that one or two references (travelogues or unreliable sources) may not stand scrutiny. --Nvvchar. 16:57, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
- The three words which translation are Manikotha, candana and sankirtana. The first refrence in the Five thirthas article is not reliable. I will read the Jagannath article fully and then let you know or make the corrections myself to the extent required. I am tired now --Nvvchar. 17:22, 5 December 2012 (UTC)and retiring for the night--Nvvchar. 17:22, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
- I have completed my inputs to Gundicha Temple and I have asked Redtiger to edit it further with more text as required.--Nvvchar. 08:53, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Ranganatha
Edit conflict. Refrain from editing for one hour. I lost all my additions.--Nvvchar. 13:00, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
Why are archiving so frequently. I know the rules of editing and doing it for five years now. Why have you shifted the Srirangaptana temple under the other category temples. It is part of the Pancharanga Temples, next in order after the Sri Rangam Temple of Trichy. I am putting it back. Please don't change. Also try to fix the spelling errors. Also note this webiste [[4]] for any future use for referencing google books, and please add text to other temples in Tamil Nadu. Also add what ever text you can find to the rock cut Vishnu image in Orissa to make it 5x. --Nvvchar. 13:33, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
Jagannath
I don't think the article is GA quality as yet as it has POV and OR problems. --Redtigerxyz Talk 06:47, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
- Besides this, prose is an issue. Many a's and the's are missing. --Redtigerxyz Talk 06:59, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
- If you wish you may post Ranganatha on DYK with a suitable hook. Even expansion from 12th or 13th Dec. is more than 5x. But it would be better if you could replace web urls with book references.--Nvvchar. 14:36, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
Please suggest your prefrence for the DYK. Also, pl see the additions I have made today from the clippet google book references you provided for the Anantashayana Vishnu. May also like to suggest an alternate hook text. I am not well today and I will post the DYK tomorrow morning.--Nvvchar. 16:03, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

IMO, Ranganatha info should be transferred to temples article and it should be nominated for DYK. Redtigerxyz Talk 10:17, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

- Will check it tomorrow/day after. Any how the 5x expansion of the temple article started later. --Redtigerxyz Talk 18:24, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
