Disambiguation link notification for September 24
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2018, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page 2018 inter-Korean summit. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Hello, I'm JalenFolf. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to 2011—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Jalen Folf (talk) 04:24, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
- @JalenFolf Why is this? I was cleaning up the caption and photo montage. May I ask what is wrong with that? The ganymedian (talk) 04:30, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
December 2022
[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at 2022. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Kernel123 (talk) 22:56, 31 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Kernel123 What did I do that is disruptive? The ganymedian (talk) 23:02, 31 December 2022 (UTC)
- Just a heads up, this user has since been blocked, in part for sending out frivolous warnings. You have not made any disruptive edits. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 19:28, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
Collage distortion
[edit]Hi the ganymedian, I have a concern about your collages. When resizing images, the rescaling should be uniform so that the image is not distorted. However, in almost all of your collages, you did not rescale the images uniformly, so there is distortion. This really hurts the MOS:IMAGEQUALITY. Would it be possible to revise the collages to fix this problem? BappleBusiness[talk] 23:27, 8 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @BappleBusiness Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I am not exactly sure what you mean by rescaling the images, and I think another user scaled them down to 300x300 px in most of the year articles. I use a platform called paint.net to make the collages. Would you happen to know how to rescale the images in the sense that you are describing? I am confused on what you mean. Thank you The ganymedian (talk) 17:05, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
- The issue isn't with the image resolution per se, but with stretching. I think it's easiest to see how each image is stretched in the 2022 collage: the Olympics image is stretched so that the circles of the Olympics logo turn into ovals. Instead of stretching the images into squares, they would have to each be cropped into squares. BappleBusiness[talk] 02:16, 11 January 2023 (UTC)
- @BappleBusiness Oh, I see what you are saying now. Did you happen to notice this distortion in any other year collages, or was it just 2022? Thanks The ganymedian (talk) 22:11, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
- It seems to be in most, if not all, of the collages. BappleBusiness[talk] 09:32, 15 January 2023 (UTC)

Permission to edit a collage
[edit]Hi the ganymedian! Could you give me permission to make a slight modification to one of your collages and upload it? And do you give permission to edit your collages in general ? i would like to replace the first picture in the 2007 one. Gennicyro4 (talk) 05:34, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hey there. I can try putting that picture in for ya, and feel free to give me feedback on if it looks good. I may have to cut some of it out so Steve Jobs can be seen better. Thanks The ganymedian (talk) 18:18, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
2023 collage
[edit]You volunteered to put together this 2023 collage, and lest another major world event occurs in November or December, the consensus has been reached, and the editors have decided on 8 events.
- International Criminal Court arrest warrants for Vladimir Putin and Maria Lvova-Belova
- Flight of Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians
- Protests on the 2023 Israel-Hamas war
- 2023 Israel-Hamas war
- 2023 Chinese balloon incident
- 2023 United States banking crisis
- Cyclone Daniel
- 2023 Turkey-Syria earthquake
Suggestions for the images can be seen in the edit page of 2023. I'm excited to see what the collage will look like! DementiaGaming (talk) 18:25, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- Would be happy to- thanks for letting me know! @DementiaGaming When do you think I should post the rough draft? I know some people can get annoyed The ganymedian (talk) 04:20, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- Maybe around late November, there are probably 200 other 2023 collage candidates competing for putting on the lead that will try to do it as early as possible, so the earlier we do it, the better DementiaGaming (talk) 14:00, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- @DementiaGaming I see someone added a collage to 2023. Should I override? The ganymedian (talk) 02:34, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
- I guess so. There was no consensus to do it this early DementiaGaming (talk) 02:38, 19 October 2023 (UTC)

- It seems on WP:YEARS that there is a discussion on the depreciation of collages, which most people have agreed to remove. Collages are starting to be removed in year pages, including the 1950s, 60s, and 2000-2003. It is likely there will not be a collage for 2023. DementiaGaming (talk) 23:52, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
