On Vandalism[edit]

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Military of El Salvador. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you.

A tag has been placed on LAR-160 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.    7   talk Δ |   06:12, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:AML-90 1 SALVADOR.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:AML-90 1 SALVADOR.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Copyright problems with RBY MK 1[edit]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, RBY MK 1, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from www.army-guide.com/eng/product945.html. As a copyright violation, RBY MK 1 appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. RBY MK 1 has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:RBY MK 1 and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) and CC-BY-SA, under CC-BY-SA, or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:RBY MK 1 with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:RBY MK 1.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. Jonathon A H (talk) 08:37, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Summary[edit]

Please use the edit summary box when making changes to pages. You have changed, added, and undone several edits without explaining why. Furthermore, please read edit summaries before making changes so it is understood why those changes were made in the first place. Edit summaries are an important part of making revisions to pages.

Please see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Edit_summary

Citing references[edit]

Thank you for citing more references when adding information. However, instead of using external links ( [www.examplelink.com] ) it would probably be better to use the proper <ref></ref> tags (see: Footnotes) along with appropriate {{cite}} template (see: Citing Sources)

Using an example from the Salvadoran Army page:
<ref name="armyreco">{{cite web|url=http://www.armyrecognition.com/Amerique_du_nord/El_Salvadore/El-Salvadore_index_equipement.htm| title=ArmyRecognition.com > Index of El Salvador Military Equipment}}</ref>

In addition to this, instead of repeating the same reference multiple times, you can simply use <ref name="armyreco" /> any time you want to cite the same source.
Jonathon A H (talk) 19:05, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please take a little more care when citing references to make sure that it is done properly. Please check to make sure that your sources are valid sources as well. A guide for a tabletop wargame is not a good source. Jonathon A H (talk) 02:41, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Missing edit summaries[edit]

Why did you do this edit? And this is not the first time you have removed something with no argumentation at all. Please try to use edit summaries in the future. Offliner (talk) 04:00, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
