Ways to improve George Delahunty
Hi, I'm Ajpolino. Thsmi002, thanks for creating George Delahunty!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please add sources independent of the topic (i.e. not just his employer)
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Thsmi002 (talk) 17:56, 7 March 2018 (UTC)Copyvios
Just saw that David H. Gutmann got accepted and then G12'd. Please make sure you're always checking for copyright violations. Thanks. Primefac (talk) 14:29, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Primefac: Hello, thanks for the message. I thought only one section was copyvio so I tagged that section. I think that article still had some useable sections which is why I kept it, tagged it for cleanup, and marked a section for copy paste. I thought G12 was only for "where there is no non-infringing content on the page worth saving." That is not what my findings were. I will definitely be on the lookout though! Thsmi002 (talk) 15:05, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
- Fair enough, I only saw the deletion so I don't know on what grounds the deletion was made.
- Speaking in general, though, if an entire section is obvious copyvio it's better to just remove it entirely and request a revdel (we're a bit faster on revdel than we are at doing the boring copypatrol work). This also means that if you re-check the page for copyvio it won't be searching for that section. I've found on occasion that only one paragraph flags a violation, and as soon as I remove it another two pop up! Primefac (talk) 15:12, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Primefac: Thank you for this advice! I think that would have worked with this article. From my searches, it appeared that the vio was mostly located in a small section called "research". I'll use your revdel suggestion moving forward :) Thsmi002 (talk) 15:17, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
DYK for Nancy Marcus
On 18 March 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Nancy Marcus, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that oceanographer and former Florida State University dean Nancy Marcus was also a magician and ventriloquist? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Nancy Marcus. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Nancy Marcus), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

"this user makes women blue"
Thank you for quality articles about women in science and education, such as Nancy Marcus, Rhoda Dorsey and Marianne Githens, for helping to rescue articles that are poorly written and sourced, for letting us see faces, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!
