Adopt-a-user - offer
[edit]Hello. I see that you've recently asked for help from someone to 'Adopt' and guide you through becoming a competent Wikipedia editor. I also see that you've been registered since 2009, but have made very few edits from your account until last month. If you think that helper could be me, feel free to check out my entry at this page, or my user page. Of course, you might prefer to look for another adopter there who you think might suit you better. If so, my suggestion would be to approach them directly, rather than wait for them to come to you.
From my side, I'm looking for someone who can demonstrate genuine commitment to the Project, and will become a regular contributor across the encyclopaedia from here onwards. I'm not able to commit to anyone who just wants to promote one or two pages that they're personally involved with. But if there's one or more topics you care about (and deafness issues look to be yours at the moment) just let me know. I would look to ensure that you understood the principles we operate to - how everything we say here must be supported with reliable references, and how to add that information effectively and in a neutral, non-promotional way.
If you're just stuck on small practicalities, we do also have the WP:Teahouse for simple questions.
So, if you're interested in me helping you, perhaps you'd let me know a little more about your own vision of your involvement here, and what you'd particularly like guidance on. If not, a simple reply to say I’m not for you would be absolutely fine. Regards from the UK, Nick Moyes (talk) 16:47, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
