Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (This article is trying to create awareness of HIV prevention and see how people can stop stigma and discrimination among YPLHIV in the different communities they leave in.

I am not promoting but writing an article following the different guidelines from other authors who wrote on things regarding HIV/AIDS and advocacy some of the authors followed in the creation of this article include https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reach_a_Hand_Uganda since we are almost advocating for the same thing Young people to get information about HIV and leave a meaningful and productive life. My article is not for advertising purposes. In regards to the copyright allegations, the content provided belongs to us as Uganda Network of young people living with HIV/AIDs most of it is gotten from our archives and website. Content provided is meant to help scholars doing their research to have a base on to start from if they are writing or researching about HIV/AIDs. Thank you ) --UNYPA1 (talk) 11:55, 4 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:UNYPA1/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.globalnpo.org/UG/Kampala/104865949683878/Uganda-Network-of-Young-People-Living-with-HIV and https://unypa.org/projects/power-project/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Request reason:

In regards to another claim that states that UNYPA picked information from https://www.globalnpo.org/UG/Kampala/104865949683878/Uganda-Network-of-Young-People-Living-with-HIV to be used by https://unypa.org this site clearly shows it is mirroring all our information from our Facebook and Twitter pages onto their site into our profile. Please refer to our Twitter account and you will realize that information is being picked from our page to that site https://twitter.com/UNYPA1. An email has been sent from the official email account of Uganda Network of Young People living with HIV/AIDS allowing the use of content from the Website and their achieve to be used on Wikipedia.

Decline reason:

You are missing the point. Please reread WP:COI, WP:PAID, and WP:PROMO. Yamla (talk) 14:36, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Thank you for pointing out the real reasons for my blocking. In regards to the previously given reason for my blocking "You are missing the point. Please reread WP:COI, WP:PAID, and WP:PROMO." I hereby clarify that there is no conflict of interest of any sort, no payment made or expected for creating this article and we are not promoting the organization but creating awareness through the article but creating awareness on HIV and SRHR. Thank you

Decline reason:

You cannot claim to have no conflict of interest when you are directly working for the organisation - something that would give you a paid COI, not "merely" a regular conflict of interest. The issue here has now expanded beyond that of the reasons that originally got you blocked. You were given three highly relevant policies and clearly failed to read them (or, if you did, have demonstrated an inability to understand them). This makes it extremely difficult to trust that you would be able to comply with these rules should be unblocked. Nosebagbear (talk) 11:15, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You say above "this site clearly shows it is mirroring all our information from our Facebook and Twitter pages onto their site into our profile", so what is your association with the organization? 331dot (talk) 16:36, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

in regards to the question asked: "You say above "this site clearly shows it is mirroring all our information from our Facebook and Twitter pages onto their site into our profile", so what is your association with the organization? 331dot (talk) 16:36, 7 September 2021 (UTC)" I directly work with UNYPA — Preceding unsigned comment added by UNYPA1 (talkcontribs)
First, not every comment needs to be an unblock request, only one open request is needed at a time. Additional comments should be unformatted. Second, you should click "edit" and not "new section" to edit this page, so your comments are properly placed at the bottom. This is easier to do in the full desktop version of Wikipedia(even in a browser on a phone) as the app and mobile version do not have full functionality(easily, at least). 331dot (talk) 10:25, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Note that "creating awareness" is a form of promotion. Wikipedia has no interest in helping you create awarness for your organization. You say you have no conflict of interest, but you also say you work for the organization; both of these cannot be true at the same time. These statments tell me you do not understand the policies you have been asked to understand. I can't review this request as I've already reviewed one, but I would decline this request if I could. 331dot (talk) 10:27, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
