Notice

The article Passing Through: Woni Spotts, The First Black Woman to Travel to Every Country and Continent has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Failing WP:NFO and WP:NFP, the film does not have a notability. Woni Spotts herself may have notability, but this film didn't have notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ✠ SunDawn ✠ (contact) 01:35, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hallo, I've reverted your addition of her to the list of women explorers, because she's a red link. I note that a previous article on her was deleted at AfD. Please create an article for her first, and then add her to the list in the right a-z place. Thanks. PamD 05:08, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Woni Spotts

[edit]

Have you tried creating a page for Woni Spotts? You would have to back it up with proper citations, but it might stick if there is a documentary and Spotts is an author. I'm guessing your quite new to Wikipedia, so maybe it isn't clear how to go about that? Is that correct?--K.Nevelsteen (talk) 10:45, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm relatively new.
Woni Spotts page was up for a long time then on the day Nabongo supposedly finished visiting every country, it was vandalized so Nabongo could get media coverage. I doubt she would trust the Wiki system again. Universalsunset (talk) 19:00, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand. Why is a wiki article about Spotts dependent on her trust in the wiki system?--K.Nevelsteen (talk) 21:50, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What is the point if anybody can vandalize it like before? It's not locked. Universalsunset (talk) 22:24, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There is lots of vandalism, but are also tools to go against it, if the article has proper sources.--K.Nevelsteen (talk) 11:59, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"Proper sources" depend on who you ask. I have stumbled across pages with IMDB as the only source. Universalsunset (talk) 12:21, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You said she could list the documentary but Wikipedia says you can't use IMDB. Universalsunset (talk) 22:27, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I can't find a reputable source for the documentary. That's a problem.--K.Nevelsteen (talk) 11:59, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
While Wikipedia says IMDB is not credible. You can not put a movie on there unless it was released. The film was released in theaters in 1989.
