[edit]Hi Unpluggedbrain! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at VBET that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Whisperjanes (talk) 22:02, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
@Whisperjanes:, thanks for informing me, I did not know. I'll read through the minor edits article you linked, but could you please tell me which change this was so I can revert it if necessary? Thanks again for your curation. Unpluggedbrain (talk) 08:01, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
- It was this edit that I saw was marked as minor. But you don't have to revert it or anything! If you accidentally mark something as minor, it doesn't mean you need to revert after. The minor is just to let other editors know what type of edit it is. I usually only use minor when adding wikilinks or fixing typos & grammar. And thanks for your understanding :) Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions! - Whisperjanes (talk) 18:14, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
@Whisperjanes: Got it! Good to know for future edits. Might be a silly question, but what about stuff like specifying the language with a |language in the ref or changing the size of an image? Does the rule apply only to content or formatting and small structure changes too? Thanks Unpluggedbrain (talk) 11:59, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hmm... I'm not 100% sure, but I think adding a language technically is not minor (although it isn't that major either), since you are adding content. I think changing the size of an image counts as formatting, so it's probably fine to mark that as minor as long as it's a slight change (if you were making a small image very large, others might disagree and want to review it, which in that case would not be minor). Either way, the minor checkbox is one of those things where if you're unsure if it's minor or not, it's usually better to just not mark it as minor (since nothing's being lost from not marking it). Let me know if that makes sense! - Whisperjanes (talk) 01:38, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
@Whisperjanes: Rule of thumb: don't make it a minor edit if you're unsure. Thanks a lot for the info. Keep on keeping on! -Unpluggedbrain (talk) 13:10, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
BetConstruct
[edit]Hi. BetConstruct is creation protected since there has been some spamming related to this article. It has also previously been deleted after a deletion discussion.
Note that paid articles must go through the Articles for Creation process, you cannot move them to mainspace yourself.
I've added a button to your draft so you can now submit it for review. It is very likely to be rejected, most of the sources are press releases or otherwise not clearly independent. On the draft's talk page, please point to the three best sources which are completely independent and contain significant coverage (gambling-related publications should be omitted from that list). It aids reviewers.
– Thjarkur (talk) 15:38, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
@Thjarkur: Hi, thanks for the info, didn't know about the spamming, and I didn't go through the Articles for Creation process because there was an Armenian version already and I thought I could post it as a translation, then make changes as it got curated by more experienced editors.
Just one question, is the rejection definitive or will I get feedback on what I did wrong and be able to work on the article again? Thanks in advance.
Also is it possible to check out the deleted article somehow? Unpluggedbrain (talk) 16:32, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- If your submission is rejected, you will receive feedback, most likely it will be "WP:GNG not sufficiently well demonstrated" and you will be able to submit it a version that corrects the problems later. An old version is available at the InternetArchive [1]. – Thjarkur (talk) 17:58, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
@Thjarkur: Got it, all clear, I will try to find more reliable sources, problem is that most mainstream media doesn't report on gambling industry news, unless it's controversy of course, so it's hard to find sources not in some way affiliated with gambling. Thanks for everything. Unpluggedbrain (talk) 13:07, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

@Pythoncoder: Hi there, just a quick question about notability and sources. Most of my sources come from gambling websites, these, most of the time, cannot in any way be considered as neutral or objective, since they basically survive through affiliation and advertisement for big gambling companies. But since mainstream media rarely talks about gambling news, I am stuck with these. Is there another way to prove the company's notability? Maybe documents that I can provide showing tax returns, profits, employee numbers, owned offices throughout the world, etc. ?
Also is it okay to reference the company's website for things like licenses, partnerships, and awards or should I *give separate sources for all of them?
Thanks in advance. Unpluggedbrain (talk) 05:57, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
- Unpluggedbrain, My main problem with the draft was with its promotional language; this problem seems to have been fixed somewhat in the most recent version. Regarding the "documents you can provide", those are primary sources, and they can be cited for information about the article subject, but cannot be used to prove notability. Wikipedia's general notability guideline (GNG) requires significant coverage in secondary sources. I haven't done a deep dive into the references in the draft, so I can't speak to whether the draft meets the GNG. —pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 16:48, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Pythoncoder: Got it, thanks for the quick answer, I'll keep working on the article and look for better sources, in the meanwhile could you please tell me what else I can to improve? Is the history part okay? Could we please keep in touch, as I would very much appreciate your feedback on the new draft once I am done with it if it's ok with you of course. Also, do you think it would be relevant to mention court cases and controversies in a new section? Thanks in advance Unpluggedbrain (talk) 05:51, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
Your submission at Articles for creation: BetConstruct (September 3)
[edit]An article you recently created, VBET, has promotional and COI concerns. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. 1292simon (talk) 09:51, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hey there 1292simon, could you please specify which parts of the article sound like promotion, I've looked at similar pages (Unibet, Betclic) for guidance. Concerning COI, as I've disclosed I've been contracted by Vivaro Limited to write a Wikipedia article, I've obviously tried to stay as neutral as possible but I would understand if you were to say that this is not enough. Finally concerning notability, I was told that the provided sources were enough to establish it, if not, could you, in a few words, tell me what I could do to establish it further. Cheers! Unpluggedbrain (talk) 10:19, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Unpluggedbrain. I see that you have submitted the draft for review since sending this message, so it is probably best at this stage that we leave it for the AfC reviewer to decide. The notability wasn't a concern of mine for this article, so it's all good on that front. All the best, 1292simon (talk) 09:01, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hey 1292simon, I think I rooted out most of the promotional stuff, can't objectively judge the COI. What do you think? Unpluggedbrain (talk) 09:30, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
- Yep, thanks for your work improving the article. Due to these improvements, I am happy if you would like to remove the Advert tag now. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 08:10, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hi,1292simon hope you're doing well. Thanks for the response! I'll remove the promotion tag then, do you have any advice concerning the COI? Can I ask another editor to take a look at the article and fix the issue, if yes, then how?
- Yep, thanks for your work improving the article. Due to these improvements, I am happy if you would like to remove the Advert tag now. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 08:10, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:BetConstruct
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:BetConstruct, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Liz Read! Talk! 04:31, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
