Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Girth Summit (blether) 08:27, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I think this username is okay because it's not promotional just a wikipedia that updates articles with useful information related to the topic. I don't receive any compensation from this I am just writing articles that could be useful to someone searching for the topic, I didn't hire anyone or getting paid for this. I completely understand why I was blocked, it looked promotional and advertising because of my username but I saw wall street journal and reuters do this and they have a link connecting the a useful article. I just should have changed my username and more importantly read the policy first. that is my fault and will not make it again as I'm just trying to publish useful value to the topics. The contributions I intend to make is bring value and make sure you are getting the most TRUE, RESEARCHED information. I'm sorry for making these mistakes and they won't happen again.

Decline reason:

I don't find your choice of new username to be an improvement. Please read the username policy; usernames should be individualistic in nature(your real name is not required). I don't believe that you are doing this out of the goodness of your heart. Please read WP:COI and WP:PAID. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your website or anything related to your conflict of interest. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the line. If you want to edit about others topics as a general contributor, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 07:16, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your username is only one small part of the problem here. Yamla (talk) 19:40, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I want to contribute and be apart of the community on WikiPedia. I was wondering how websites like New York Times and Reuters are able to post things, I'm not being spammy in nature just giving the consumer useful information about the topic.

I want to edit as a general contributor my finding articles and accurate resources from different places to pass along information. This will include doing my research and participating Wealthonmars (talk) 19:36, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
WP:COI. What specific evidence do you have that employees at New York Times and Reuters are violating this policy? Please give your specific evidence. Note that this won't allow you to violate our policies but we would take action against them. --Yamla (talk) 19:40, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have specific evidence. I don't want to violate policy and will take time reading it to ensure this doesn't happen again. I want to be apart of the wiki family. Wealthonmars (talk) 19:44, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, I suggest you withdraw your unfounded, inappropriate accusation. Once you have read and can demonstrate you understand WP:COI and WP:SPAM, tell us what was wrong with your edits, and tell us how your future edits would differ from your prior edits, you are welcome to file a new unblock request. --Yamla (talk) 20:04, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I withdraw them. I understand where I went wrong I didn't disclose my employer the organization paying for the edits. My future edits will be different because now I will disclose this information put it in my user profile and make sure people know these edits are by this specific organization who is paying. This is the policy of the English Wikipedia. Wealthonmars (talk) 20:18, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No. You will not be unblocked to continue adding those links. If this is your only goal, this is the end of the line. If instead you wish to write about subject areas for which you have no conflict of interest, convince us you understand why your edits were inappropriate (it was not just your conflict of interest) and tell us what you'll write about instead. --Yamla (talk) 20:20, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
