Userfication of Low Tier God

[edit]

Hi @WeaponizingArchitecture: May I ask that you please respect the consensus at the recent AfD and that you request speedy deletion of User:WeaponizingArchitecture/Low Tier God? As a BLP with a consensus that found no sources meeting GNG, it is wholly inappropriate to host such negative versions in your userspace such as [1] At the very least such versions need to be revision deleted, however given the recent outcome of the AfD, I would strongly prefer the whole page be deleted without having to go to WP:MfD. - "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (work / talk) 13:47, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No. As a matter of fact, User:AmandaNP gave me the article so I could improve it and find sources for it. Regardless, it's a sandbox.WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 13:51, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sandboxes aren't immune to the BLP policy. - "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (work / talk) 13:59, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I believe you ignored the first part of what I said. I was given the article by an Admin (User:AmandaNP) to improve the article and find better sources for it. WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 14:03, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Then don't ignore the part where I said offending versions should be revdel'd at the very least? Works both ways. - "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (work / talk) 14:04, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't? But I don't have the power to delete these revisions. Besides, I might need them to actually find what needs better sourcing. WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 14:05, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You couldn't come up with anything when I challenged you at AfD and instead tried to shift the discussion to his YouTube being deleted as if that had anything to do with his lack of notability. You don't need any version to recreate the article if sources are made available in the future. - "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (work / talk) 14:09, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't try this. I brought up the youtube deletion because that was being mentioned as a reason for lack of sourcing, as far as im aware. Regardless, this isn't really helping. It's giving me "you are very dumb" kind of vibes. If you don't mean it in that manner, that's fine. WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 14:20, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to go there, frankly, I think it's "dumb" that you can save this article. - "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (work / talk) 14:45, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please elaboate. If im "saving" it in order to improve it whats the issue? WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 14:48, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It'll never be accepted into mainspace because reliable sources with SIGCOV don't exist. If they did, you would have been able to present them when asked at AfD. All you're trying to do here is keep the versions with poorly-referenced negative content and I struggle to understand why you're fighting so hard to do so. - "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (work / talk) 14:56, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This discussion isn't productive, and I don't intend on continuing it. And I won't request a speedy deletion of the sandbox template. Please respect this, thank you. WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 15:00, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"Please elaborate" ...
Fine. Keep your BLP vios up. - "Ghost of Dan Gurney" (work / talk) 15:03, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@GhostOfDanGurney: and WeaponizingArchitecture, you both need to take a step back.
  1. Userspace is not a license to avoid BLP, it still applies to existing, and moreso, new content added
  2. An admin draftifying an article for you is not an endorsement nor support for any of it's content or your hosting of it in your userspace
  3. The article at the revision linked by Ghost of Dan Gurney may have balance & sourcing issues, and the last sentence in the career paragraph is beyond questionable, but Revdel only applies to "Grossly insulting, degrading, or offensive material that [...] violates our biographies of living people policy". This content does not escalate that level.
  4. Comment on the content, not the contributor, following WP:NPA...don't make me go cite an ArbCom decision.
I really didn't want to have to get off work and step in the middle of it, but here I am. Keep it civil so I (or any other admin) don't need to return. -- Amanda (she/her) 01:44, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize about any issues that arised from this. WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 13:02, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@AmandaNP: I agree that the content doesn't rise to the level of revdel, but for what it's worth, I was also surprised to see that the article got userfied. (I !voted to delete at the AfD.) Although a couple participants in the AfD suggested "draftify" as a second choice to deletion, I would have opposed that suggestion, the reasoning being no amount of editing can overcome a lack of notability. If there truly are better sources out there that would justify keeping this article, they should have been presented in the deletion discussion. I suspect that this page is just going to languish in WeaponizingArchitecture's userspace indefinitely without improvement simply because the sources needed to write a high-quality article about this subject do not exist. Mz7 (talk) 04:50, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Mz7: Thank you for the feedback. I was trying to follow in the spirit of WP:REFUND, but didn't open the page for a review to see what is normally refunded. I went off my memory, which is both outdated and foggy. This obviously should not have qualified. This came via an off-wiki request, and I didn't think too much about it. Seeing where this went, and how I needed to fully review the page - spending more time than I wanted - on sourcing and BLP analysis, it wasn't worth my time of undeleting especially with how fresh the AfD was. I will definitely be more cautious undeleting stuff moving forward. As of now the article is deleted, and likely should remain that way for a good while unless DRV can find new sourcing. -- Amanda (she/her) 14:32, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Huntsville photos

[edit]

Hi there @WeaponizingArchitecture! I saw that you've recently added new photos to Huntsville, Alabama, and I thank you for adding new photos. A recent discussion on the talk page was in fact about the photos, and it was deemed that this photo of Big Spring Park should also be included. Additionally, I think that the cover image should be this photo of the Saturn V as it was before. I like the photos of EarlyWorks and the Propst Arena, but think we should keep the old photo of the bank (nothing against your photography skills, just think the trees and cars are a bit distracting). I'm open to discussion on this topic, and again, thanks for the photos! --MyCatIsAChonk (talk) 02:53, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ill get to you in a bit. As of typing this i might experience a power outage, so ill get to you eventually. WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 02:54, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, power didn't go out so here's my general points. @User:MyCatIsAChonk, the first photo should remain as the skyline picture, considering that most city articles on this site do the same. I believe the Saturn V can replace the church photo easily, as it would most likely fit that slot better.

Also, the old bank photo has the Regions logo on it (which isn't there anymore), which I personally think is notable enough to warrant the current photo (though to be fair if consensus says otherwise, go ahead)

Thanks! WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 04:48, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@WeaponizingArchitecture Thanks for your prompt response; I've switched out the church photo with the rocket. Thanks for clarifying the other things for me! MyCatIsAChonk (talk) 12:10, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - I've left a comment at the discussion with some sourcing - not quite so sure this is such an obvious deletion as some of the comments imply. Perhaps have a look again. Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 03:54, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, id be down to downsizing the article to fit this. WeaponizingArchitecture | scream at me 04:44, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
