Road stubs[edit]

All of the following made their way to WP:SFD:

--Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 03:52, 17 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Why? --LBMixPro(Speak on it!) 10:49, 19 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Christina Aguilera[edit]

I think you should check from dictionary what vandalism means! I added a picture, did not delete any written word from that page. And if I'm right I think wikipedia gives a right to edit these pages, if you want to. So now that you have deleted the picture that I added, in this case you are the one who is doing vandalism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by L.a.m.b (talkcontribs) 12:47, October 22, 2005

Oh, I'm so sorry. I misread the diffs pages. That was meant for User:222.152.192.97. I'll put the pic back. --LBMixPro(Speak on it!) 20:00, 22 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
That's ok :) Take care xxx - L.a.m.b

I noticed that you recently created this template, but I strongly suggest that you re-sort the links to some sort of logical ordering as soon as possible. A number of users have listed templates on TFD just because they do not follow the guidelines specified on Wikipedia:Categories, lists, and series boxes. Thanks. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 19:22, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

They're already in an order of north-south bridges from west to east, then east-west bridges from north to south. The purpose of the template is to easily organize the eight bridges, by linking to each in a convienient place. I don't see this template as a series infobox, but a Navigational one --LBMixPro(Speak on it!) 22:27, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for making the template clearer with the "North-South" and "East-West" labels. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 22:34, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Tila Nguyen[edit]

I saw the WP:AIV note on this and saw your warning, but some admins like to see more than one warning given and continued vandalism, so I gave another, please alsoremember to sign your talk page comments --pgk(talk) 07:13, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've got a sysop looking at this now. --pgk(talk) 07:19, 8 November 2005 (UTC) In fact now one of them blocked --pgk(talk) 07:20, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, I use the IRC channel #wikipedia-en-vandalism (more detail at WP:CVU where a channel bot show suspicious chnages (normally just size based), but I've add the article into the watch list there, so more changes will be flagged up there too and hopefully someone will catch them. But do still revert and warn yourself (and list on AIV if needed) --pgk(talk) 07:31, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Anon problems[edit]

I saw your problem with the anon user that caused you high stress. Go to the talk page of that anon user and see the message I left him! By the way, welcome to Esperanza! — Moe ε 21:40, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I have this feeling he's a person who's been banned from WP, and is sockpuppeting. I see a pattern of insulting me when he can't get his way. --LBMixPro(Speak on it!) 22:29, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I am just going to ask if you care or not but do you mine me borrowing the heading format for my talk page too? — Moe ε 22:09, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Go ahead. I borrowed it from someone else as well.
Thanks for the fixing on my header and for letting me borrow it. Wow, I think that is the first time anyone every noticed my contributions to the Pro Wrestling Wikiproject. Thanks again! — Moe ε 22:49, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
You two should both stick to something you know, say like Aguilera and World wrestling federation and leave the serious topics to serious people. IheartWWFwwf(wrestling forWP:RPA) 21:37, 9 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I know who you are, and I'm being very serious. I edit serious articles. And I'm seriously reporting you to WP administration because of these comments. I haven't insulted you, so what gives you the right to break rules and attack my intellegence? Respect the Wikipedia Project please? I'm asking you. --LBMixPro(Speak on it!)
Thanks for letting me know Lbmixpro about this clueless noob. So much he knows; World Wrestling Entertainment not World Wrestling Federation; lol. I will report him to administration too. — Moe ε 03:04, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Lbmixpro, I reported him to Administration Noticeboard. Just thought I would let you know! — Moe ε 03:42, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, you weren't kidding. That was a long story. I actually just read the entire RFAr. That does sound a whole like Emico's style of editing. No worries though, I like being in the middle of things. It's sorta fun! lol. Hey, I just had a thought, what if the anon user I was informing about his personal attacks, possibly Emico, and the guy who just wrote on your talk page, IheartWWF, aren't the same person. Hmmm... makes you think huh? — Moe ε 04:31, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Oh well, even if it is the same person, I would just let it roll off your back. Save your energy for the important things on Wikipedia rather than the negative. I'm sure it will get resolved eventually. Cheers! — Moe ε 05:03, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks --LBMixPro(Speak on it!) 05:06, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Current Situation[edit]

Hi there Lbmixpro, it's Moe Epsilon! I just dropped in to say hi and to find out how are you in your current situation with the whole "Emico and his sockpuppets" deal that I was involved in a while back. Wow, I do like being in the middle of things, lol. — Moe ε 22:29, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thats good that it was delt with properly. Thanks for the update, Cheers! — Moe ε 23:40, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Esperanza![edit]

Welcome, WikiLeon/Archive02, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member, you might be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. A spam list is maintained by Redwolf24 to keep members up to date; you might want to consider adding your name to the list. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.

I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Essjay, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of myself, Flcelloguy, Ryan Norton, and Acetic Acid. The next set of elections will be at the end of the year, and I would be glad to see you vote, or even consider running for a position.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact me via email or talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to be!

Thank you.[edit]

It has been a long, difficult route attempting to balance out the Iglesia ni Cristo articles and I appreciate everything you've done. Throughout this endeavour, I've learned a lot about the INC, about Christianity and I'm glad that I had the chance to make amends with my fellow Wikipedians. Thank you for the barnstar, I promise that I will try to react with patience and with reason, which can always win out over anger.--Ironbrew 21:12, 11 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I wish you well. That's what Wikipedia is about: learning about new things, and finding more about what you already know. The world according to NPOV. --LBMixPro<Speak|on|it!> 09:41, 12 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
This debacle is partly my fault, for not coming out earlier and telling the truth about me being a member of the INC as well as creating the Ironbrew account. Emico's efforts were being overlooked (and even supported at times) by some others because although his actions were wrong, they were being directed towards me, and from my experiences as a member, we always rally against those who "blaspheme God's holy church" (the INC's phraseology) and feel that anything is justified due to the fact. In my younger days, I hated anyone who I felt wasn't giving the proper "respect" to the INC and would join along in denouncing them. I don't foresee myself leaving the INC soon, but realize now, that there is a greater love and a greater fellowship out there. --Ironbrew 01:58, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
At this point, I feel sorry for him. Does Starbucks/Emico even know that what he does undermines the INC and gives people a bad impression of it? It is because of people like him that I reconsidered my membership. The final thing I can do to make up for my past actions is to help him become a positive contributor to Wikipedia. I will try my best to talk to him, and help him to improve his conduct.--Ironbrew 07:00, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I told Starbucks the truth.[edit]

I came back in hopes of offering my assistance to the impasse and try to smooth things over with you and Starbucks, but it seems that he's out for my blood too. I'm not going to come here to fight him everyday, and hopefully he'll learn his lesson. I couldn't help but take offense with his latest tirade, so I told him what I thought in no uncertain terms, but this time in a way which I hope is patient and Christian. Talk:Eduardo_V._Manalo#Starbucks_is_probably_Emico_again.--Ironbrew 10:38, 17 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I tried and while he didn't listen, I'm happy I was able to deal with someone who said such dirty things about me in a decent manner and I hope that I'm living up to my statement and to the Barnstar. Now, if Emico doesn't want to improve, it's time for something to be done about it, another ban if necessary and protection on the INC articles.--Ironbrew 11:29, 19 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Emico[edit]

I have looked into this a bit. Please email me regarding any suspected sockpuppets. Fred Bauder 22:51, 19 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Iglesia ni Cristo[edit]

I protected it but I can't do it for real long given the nature of the discussion. It should give you time to link the IPs to this banned person. 48 hours is about all I can do. Maybe. :) --Woohookitty(cat scratches) 20:57, 22 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I would recommend posting your concerns on the Administrators noticeboard page and see if they can help. They help with things like users trying to get around blocks. They are more experts at this than I am. --Woohookitty(cat scratches) 10:21, 23 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm ok. Don't know what else you can do then. Protection is fine, but it can't really be for more than a few days because we're a wiki and the big appeal is that anyone can edit. --Woohookitty(cat scratches) 10:36, 23 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

INC Suggestions[edit]

I made a suggestion at the INC page. While wikipedia can't be used as a platform for evangelism and propaganda, I would like to know what INC is all about. Did Christ have to die on the Christ according to INC? What is INC's stand on heaven, hell, reincarnation, abortion, priesthood and marriage, euthanasia, other Christians or denominations, salvation, salvation by works or by faith, etc. Why can't I just join the Baptists or Adventists, what's the difference? Are any foods forbidden? Word of God? Is the bible holy? ARe INCs Unitarian? Do they have holy sacraments? Eucharist? How do they view other denominations? How does INC define Christianity? Is there a promise land? Messiah? The 10 commandments? Is the name of God holy? How about the Sabbath? Are there any other places held sacred like a mecca?.--Jondel 10:23, 25 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Blocking INC disruptive user[edit]

I am not experienced with blocking disruptive users but thingking of doing so. I've already contacated brew and am investigating arbitration links to INC. Thoughts and comments?--Jondel 02:06, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Don't entertain the Trolls[edit]

I try not to feed trolls

A long time long time ago , in a galax.....
when I used to be an anonymous, my comments at various talk and discussion pages would be removed/reverted even if relevant. If a person is anonymous, they can not expect that much recognition. We shouldn't entertain them . I will be reverting or removing comments by anonymous people as appropriate.--Jondel 07:58, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

At this point please edit using your best judgement. Do not be intimidated or ascribe to ' What is your source?' . Treat these demands with a grain of salt. Better not entertain Trolls. If the user does not register, he is not willing to be accountable and we should treat as persona non grata. You may of course choose to allow his comments if obeys rules of wiki behaviour. I'm more of an editor than admin but I've been trolled a few times already. --Jondel 10:44, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the advice, that I shall take. I only wish I could thank people for the advice I don't take! Dominick (TALK) 00:25, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Caveat[edit]

The above may or may not be policy. With too many policies however, progress is slow and the BE BOLD directive will have no meaning. I am not recommending strong arm tactics or anarchy. Ideally, people follow the rules by heart even if none exists. The above is from personal experience. --Jondel 00:17, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Tila's headshot[edit]

while i don't personally mind the picture it might be wise to choose one a little more subtle. Boneyard 10:26, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

i understand the problem with finding a subtle picture, but for example the previous deleted one was way less provocative, if you could get aproval for that one i think it would be better. Boneyard 10:52, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
indeed, an empty spot would be worse, ill see if i can find another allowed pic also. and thanks for the work you put on the article. Boneyard 11:02, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

For the record...[edit]

I called Emico "a petty liar and a slanderer," which was intended to be a comment on his activity and not an insult. He is very petty, as evidenced by his persistent edit/comment wars, and he has lied, claiming that he is not behind the anonymous edits when evidence suggests otherwise and his conduct borders on slander, with his reckless use of personal accusations and insults. I pointed out the errors in his conduct and why I rescinded my offer. Perhaps if I am not able to express my observations about user conduct, I might have to take a (long-needed) hiatus from Wikipedia. I understand where you are coming from, and rest assured there are no hard feelings. Happy Holidays. (I am Ironbrew, and I wrote this message)--69.231.198.18 06:46, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Iglesia[edit]

People, entities and organizations mature and need time and people to accomodate them. We just have to do our part in being neutral etc. People and organizations will remove their cultic or undesirable practises in time. This why neutrality is almost a religion for me. Consensus Forge 2006 at WP:IAR[edit]

I moved your Consensus forge post at the WP:IAR talk page to its own Misc page at Wikipedia:Consensus_Forge_2006. --LBMixPro<Speak|on|it!> 12:46, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Err, umm, could you put it back? The whole "consensus forge" thing is for the WP:IAR article itself. Honestly, it's a new idea that I'm trying out on that article. If it is successful in reaching consensus on WP:IAR (as good a place as any to see if it will really work), I hope to hone it into something more general that can be used on any article.

In any case, I need people to see it and use it on the WP:IAR talk page, in order that we might gain any benefit from it. Putting it out at Wikipedia:Consensus_Forge_2006 implies two things:

  • The "Consensus Forge" is ready for prime-time in other articles. (It's not)
  • The text doesn't apply only to WP:IAR (It does.)

If putting it back on the main talk page is unacceptable, could we at least reach a compromise? Perhaps make it a subpage of the WP:IAR talk page, and move the "Consensus Forge" topic to the top, with a wikilink to the subpage?

Please discuss. :-) /* Pradeep Arya 12:59, 9 January 2006 (UTC) */[reply]

Hi, I'm new to Wikipedia (as a member anyway) and i was wondering:

Why are some people members to groups such as Esperanza and Anti-Vandalism, how can you become involved in the group? Secondly, you have Userbars on your page- where/how to i get these, can i add them to my page? Thirdly, what are 'awards' some people have been give? Fourthly, how do i get my page to look good- how do you put text in coloured backgrounds etc...

Thanks for your help in advance, please reply by posting in my 'My Talk' Page
