Hobart Airport

Busy I guess? Anyway, If you pop in, have you looked through Google news archives for bits on the airport history. I don't have time at the moments to do this but whatever the result of the GAN I should later on. —Aaroncrick (talk) 09:30, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Yeah I know; it was basically just a dig at the airport. —Aaroncrick (talk) 09:41, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

London hotels

Hi. Can you please tell User:Iridiscent who has just tagged every hotel in Template:Hotels in London for deletion that these are certainly notable hotels and are at least mid importance for the hotel project. I just think our coverage of hotels is sadly neglected on here even the core hotel articles. I was just trying to improve our coverage of what are cited in guides as the top hotels... ‡ Himalayan ‡ ΨMonastery 15:05, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Agreed. They should be expanded like Radisson Edwardian Heathrow Hotel. But I believe it is development work needed more than anything as with most articles. ‡ Himalayan ‡ ΨMonastery 19:56, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

OK then the Savoy, The Dorchester are low priority articles for WP:Hotels. Whatever. Personally I'd say many of the top hotels in global cities such as London, NYC, Tokyo, Hong Kong etc would be high importance for the hotel project.. Core articles would be hotels like Raffles Hotel, Peninsular Hotel in Hong Kong, Waldorf-Astoria, The Savoy in London, The Ritz in Paris etc. I'm sorry you disagree. If these hotels are not high or even mid importance I have no idea what your idea of high importance is... Given the difficulty of editing hotels on wikipedia because a lot of people see them as advertisements I'll have to decline being part of the project and contributing to it I'm afraid. I'll stick to geography... ‡ Himalayan ‡ ΨMonastery 11:42, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

I would say any hotel listed on The Leading Hotels of the World is high priority? ‡ Himalayan ‡ ΨMonastery 20:36, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Hobart International Airport

Hey! Did you finish fixing up everything at Talk:Hobart International Airport/GA1? Nice if you could leave a note there when you're done so I know when to come back and looks things over. Arsenikk (talk) 13:46, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Remember that at GA, an article does not need to be longer than what can be found in reliable sources; i.e. if there are no RS around from which to write the history, it cannot be required. On the other hand, news archives (at least online ones) can often provide some RS. For instance, in my recent GA Værøy Airport (which was a strip with two daily services) I used a combination of an archaic book from the library about the airline for the pre-airport history, and a closed news search engine (which I only have access to because I'm a university student) to find news reports from back then. Most of the history actually dates from an "convenient" accident report which would close the article. These are some possible RS; there may be others, or there may be very little. In a way, it is often up to the discretion of the author of smaller articles to determine when there is no more to say. Arsenikk (talk) 06:57, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi. I and Ser Amantio created this. Can you help flood the categories with articles? Search say Hotel 1948 and you should find them by year.. Dr. Blofeld White cat 22:02, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 20:10, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Hey

I hope I didnt disparage you or your work todate at the project page - wp has become soooo quiet in some areas that I suspect that someone is keeping the light on to fool people that it works :| - trust all is well - cheers SatuSuro 12:16, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Yup just had 6 weeks intenseworking and I understand about time - mind you my sense of frustration with office politics led me to some crazy editing - hang in there mate - we'll catch up again - cheers SatuSuro 12:44, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

We have recently created five regional task forces focused on Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania and Latin America.

To improve road and highway articles, here are guidelines for B class criteria. Please add any higher GA, FA quality articles to the international roads portal. Also, please help out by inviting new or unfamiliar editors with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Highways/New articles/Invite template.

About "Glebe Hill, Tasmania" in Template:Hobart suburbs

Hi Wiki ian - I've removed it - please do see Template talk:Hobart suburbs for the rationale... and my suggested remedies if this is in wont of WP:CLUE on my part! --Shirt58 (talk) 09:33, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply - both of them :-) I do like to drop by and tidy up articles, templates and so on about my home town one of my home towns. (Where am I actually from? I dunno, lost track about the 7th time I moved interstate. All I know is that while I guess I'm a somewhat intellectual kind of chap, I somehow became an insanely mad fan of the Queensland rugby league team.)--Shirt58 (talk) 11:41, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

Help Needed!

Hello Wiki Ian, I hope you can help, especially as some of our interests cross over. I saw that you added a route map to the Derwent Valley Railway page. I have just submitted a page for the Sandfly Colliery Tramway in Margate, Tas and would love to know how you created your route map. Thanks!

I've been making some efforts to rejuvenate WikiProject Hotels, and since you're a member of the project, please feel free to contribute there if anything comes to mind. Also, please feel free to discuss matters at the project's talk page. Northamerica1000(talk) 09:01, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for March 2

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ida Bay Railway, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tramway (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
