Eddsworld
[edit]Hey Zach - Thanks for your message. I actually nominated Eddsworld for deletion the first time around in 2007, but the link here on your talk page is pointing to the old discussion. The new discussion is on this page - you can give your opinion there. The discussion should continue for 7 days. The article has actually been deleted 9 times in total for various reasons, so I think it needs some really solid sources in order to prevent deletion. They should be significant coverage in newspapers, magazines or reputable websites - not just mentions of the subject or places where the animation/artwork is archived. For example, the fact that it is on DeviantArt is not really a good reference, since anyone can put anything on DeviantArt; if DeviantArt was known for conducting and publishing articles on prominent artists, and did one on the creator of Eddsworld, then that might be a good reference (unfortunately, I don't think they do). The association with the climate change conference is interesting - do you know if this was covered by any newspapers etc.? British newspapers like The Guardian often cover online media like Eddsworld - any significant coverage (ie. not just a passing mention) would be good to add to the article. I've just done another search, but I haven't found anything yet.
Eddsworld is clearly popular and diversely spread around the web, but if there isn't anybody independently writing about it, it's possible that the time hasn't arrived for there to be an article about it yet - that doesn't mean that there will never one, but it may have to wait until it gets more coverage.
I hope some of this information is useful; if there's anything I can help you with, feel free to leave me a note on my talk page. Thanks, --Kateshortforbob talk 22:16, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as on User talk:Δ, you should sign your posts by typing four halfwidth tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. You said on the talk page, "This article may not be completely neutral. Please assist in editing any biased grammar that may be left in this article". You're certain right, it is written like an advertisement. Possibly it is notable, but it is not a field where I can judge. I (or someone else) is very likely to send it to AfD for a community decision, and it will do better there if it is rewritten in an encyclopedic tone. The goal of an encyclopedia is to say things in a concise manner, which is not the style of press releases or web sites, which are usually more expansive. The article asserts various prizes, and patronage of famous individuals. These need specific individual sources from 3rd party references, not the website-- references providing substantial coverage from independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. It also needs the removal of vague adjextives of praise--see WP:PEACOCK.
Sometimes I fix articles where some of the contents is problematic in this regard; I did not do so here, because the entire article would need rewriting, and there's no point doing it without better references. I'm glad you recognize the need, so give it a try yourself--when you're done, you can ask me on my talk page to have a look.
As for photographs, they must have free licenses, not ones limiting their use to Wikipedia. If you took the photographs and can assert the licensing, then upload them again properly. DGG ( talk ) 02:56, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thank-you for the notice. I will try to get to work on it immediately. I had a very hard time trying to neutralizing the tone of the article, but I suppose I failed. Any help you can provide will be welcomed, and thank-you again for the notice. Zach Winkler (talk) 20:43, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
