Gripping sailor's hitch[edit]

With respect, Gripping sailor's hitch does not appear to be ABoK 1688 [p.293]. It looks closest to the hitches in Chapter 22 Hitches to Masts, Rigging, and Cable (Lengthwise Pull) [p.297], but is not exactly like any of them, to my eye at least.

With respect, they are not even close, not even used for the same purposes:

Lengthwise pull is the purpose of the Gripping sailor's hitch, hence ABoK Chapter 22.
ABoK 1688 is a hitch to spar and rail (right-angle pull).

Please undo your addition until this is resolved.
