Wikipedia:Indian wikipedians' notice board

[edit]

Hi. I would like you to be an active member of Wikipedia:Indian wikipedians' notice board. utcursch 07:39, Dec 29, 2004 (UTC)

Gladly; I realise that my initial absence gives no good impressions, but I should be able to stick around to make a positive impact on pages. Indian-related pages will definately have priority while I am here. - shuri 30 June 2005 21:06 (UTC)

Economy of India

[edit]

Thanks for your edits to the Economy of India article. The article is currently at Peer review and you may want to add it to your watchlist. regards. pamri 17:53, August 8, 2005 (UTC)

Glad to help. As it is a topic I know very little about, I am limited to nit-picking... but hey, it's what I do! --shuri 17:57, 8 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

You made some really good edits to the Comparison of handheld gaming consoles article. Also, I see you've been working on Mario. Please consider adding yourself to the list of participants @ WikiProject Computer and video games. Jacoplane 03:25, 9 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm.. considering. Not sure if I want to get myself too involved, might end up spreading myself thin, you know. We'll see. Thanks. -shuri 11:17, 9 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit on Qutub Minar

[edit]

Considering that Qutub minar is a monument of historical repute, I think it's best if it has a page of it own. Not only that, it's a very important landmark in the history of Delhi and the moghul empire.

--Gaurav Arora Talk 19:09, August 9, 2005 (UTC)

I actually agree that it deserves a page of it's own, but I don't think there's enough information at the moment to. I can make a stub page by copying what is in Qutb complex, or leave the redirect. -shuri 19:13, 9 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
'The Qutub Minar is itself built on the ruins of Lal Kot, the Red Citadel in the city of Dhillika, the capital of the Rajput Tomaras and the Chauhans, the last Hindu rulers of Delhi. The mosque is in ruins today but one can see indigenous corbelled arches, floral motifs as well as Islamic architectural features such as squinches (setting arches diagonally to a square to support a dome), calligraphy and geometric patterns. Later monuments include the Ala-I-Darwaza and the Alai Minar built by Ala-ud-din Khilji (1296-1316)'
Any particular reason why you removed that para?
--Gaurav Arora Talk 19:58, August 9, 2005 (UTC)
Yes; the only line that talks about the Qutub Minar is the first, and that is still in, albeit in a shortened form. Parts of the rest are in the complex's article. -shuri 04:58, 10 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Images in commons

[edit]

You've taken some nice Qutub images but have categorised them incorrectly. If all are Qutub images, then you should categorise it as "Qutub Minar" instead of India. The category:India is meant only for the flag, location and emblem. Thanks. =Nichalp «Talk»= 12:12, August 10, 2005 (UTC)

To quote Homer, "It's my first day!" Well, close enough. All have been recategorised. There's a demography image left that you did not mention, so that might need to be moved also. -shuri 15:57, 10 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks :). That demographics image currently does not have a suitable category. If you could suggest one, it would solve the problem.
The best way to categorise the images (for future reference), of say a school in Lucknow is 1) put it in the education category and 2) Put it under the location, Luckow. So a person searching for school can pick it as, can a person wanting an image for Lucknow. Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 05:50, August 11, 2005 (UTC)
