Review:

1(a) Useful - the subject is broad, unarguably topical and of significant interest.
1(b) Attractive - the page seems well laid out and aesthetically pleasing. I find the colours appropriate and non-distracting (although perhaps a slightly lighter shade of grey would be better for the background?) Some article and biography summaries are on the long side (approaching 300 words), but given the complex and controversial subject matter and the importance of not over-trivialising, this is justifiable. The only thing that really jumps out is the blank space next to the "Wikiprojects" box which seems to be a permanent feature whatever article summaries are displayed (although it grows or shrinks in size). Can this be reduced?
1(c) Ergonomic - the selection and presentation of material is coherent and effective.
1(d) Well maintained - there is a reasonable amount of reviewed material in the various archives to keep a decent turnover of information on the main portal page. A wider selection might be useful in the long term; at the moment the selection seems to focus largely (although not exclusively) on recent Islamic militancy. It would be good to get a wider perspective by including more on subjects such as Irish republicanism/unionism, communist-era groups (Baader-Meinhoff etc), Basque separatism, Japanese religious terrorism (Aum Shinrikyo) etc. The selected quotes particularly are very US-centric. However, I appreciate that for featured portal status you may be limited by what's available GA- and FA-wise :)
2 MoS etc compliance - no issues here
3 Images - relevant, good quality and as far as I sampled, suitably licensed and credited. Not all are captioned, but their content is self-evident from the textual context.
4 Non self-referential - no issues
5 Links to other Wikimedia projects present and suitably labelled.

To summarise: an excellent and informative portal that both showcases WP content and introduces the subject effectively. My only reservations are that the background colours (esp the grey) render quite darkly on my CRT screen (though better on my LCD screen), the large amount of blank space next to the WikiProjects box, and the slightly limited scope of the selected material given the huge scope of the topic. I expect the latter will improve over time - to be honest, you haven't picked an easy subject where lots of quality articles exist! If you can consider these points, I'll be happy to support.
