[edit]How to add a logo image file to the infobox?
[edit]I tried uploading a logo image file, which I have the rights to, to the infobox at the top of the Waveform Records page and it seems like it was rejected, apparently because Wiki can't determine if I have permission to use it or something similar. Please tell me how to overcome this.ParadiseVista (talk) 01:54, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- I can't see any sign in your contribution record or in the article history of any such attempt being rejected. You will find guidance at WP:Logos. --David Biddulph (talk) 08:51, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- Hello, ParadiseVista. "Which I have the rights to" is not relevant for Wikipedia. There are two possibilities: normally for images what we require is that the copyright holder have explicitly licensed the image in such a way that anybody may reuse it for any purpose. (This is not usually something that the owner of a logo will want to do). In certain circumstances - and logos are a common example - we use images under a Fair Use justification, and the rights are then irrelevant. For this purpose, Wikipedia requires that all of the Non-free content criteria are met by the image and how it is used. --ColinFine (talk) 09:57, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
Help with René Carayol's Wikipedia page
[edit]Hello!
I hope this finds you well.
I'm writing to you regarding René Carayol's Wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ren%C3%A9_Carayol. I'm his communications person.
I'm trying to change his title on the landing page (displays when you search for him) from "Author" to "Leadership and Business Keynote Speaker". Could you please help me with this?
Many thanks in advance, Yana Renecarayol (talk) 10:07, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Renecarayol: If you are not Rene Carayol, you will need to change your username, following the instructions at WP:CHU. You cannot use his name as your username unless you are him. As you are his representative, you will need to review the conflict of interest policy at WP:COI and the paid editing policy at WP:PAID(the latter is mandatory per Wikipedia's Terms of Use for paid editors). It appears to me that you have already made the change, but in the future you should refrain from editing the article directly, instead making edit requests on the article talk page. 331dot (talk) 10:20, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- It does take time for changes in Wikipedia articles to be reflected in search results; Wikipedia has no control over how search engines do that. 331dot (talk) 10:21, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- Okay, it was someone else who changed the article to say " is a business and leadership speaker, broadcaster and author". 331dot (talk) 10:26, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Hello @Renecarayol: This appears to be an error in Google's Knowledge Graph, which Wikipedia has no control over; you can notify Google of mistakes by pressing "Feedback" in the bottom-right corner, then clicking the edit icon near the "author" description. This opens a feedback form, where you can explain the error and send it to Google. As 331dot said, please read WP:COI and WP:PAID; you can can paste
{{PAID|employer=René Carayol}}
on your user page, which produces a simple declaration. TeraTIX 10:32, 25 September 2018 (UTC)

Bill Cosby
[edit]pset about after all the things about Bill Cosby on his title it says convicted sex offender? Really even Wikipedia would destroy his character even more.. But I don't see Ben roethlisberger pro quarterback raped a girl on his professional title or Brandy Norwood convicted murderer by vehicular homicide singer actress. You but it on bill Cosby like it was a profession .there are several other examples that I could give you but I truly believe that is despicable. Now he is dead wrong and his personal matters are his own. But you really could have done that better.. But I will be posting what I send to Wikipedia to another open community for comment on the matter. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1:9C3E:2160:8417:B88F:2131:85F0 (talk) 10:44, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- Cosby has indeed been convicted, while Ben Roethlisberger has not been convicted of anything. Norwood, as the article states, "was neither arrested nor charged with vehicular manslaughter due to insufficient evidence." Please read WP:BLP. 331dot (talk) 10:51, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
Hello,
I am trying to link my Wiki page to other languages by following the instructions on this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Interlanguage_links "click on the greyed-out 'page' field (now visible) and type in the name of the article as it appears in that language's Wikipedia"
I submitted my Wiki page for review today. It is called Draft: Nicolas Bourg
So what do i type in this box? (greyed-out 'page' field)
I tried typing in the name "Draft: Nicolas Bourg", but it told me it does not exist. Do i have to wait for my submission to be accepted in order to link it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by AydaGlobal (talk • contribs) 13:40, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, you should wait until your page is approved and moved to article space before adding interwiki links. shoy (reactions) 13:51, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- You should also declare your paid editing. Theroadislong (talk) 16:43, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
Candace Owens page needs NPOV tag
[edit]{{Admin help}}
The Current Candace Owens article is not being written from a neutral point of view. Can we add a tag until it is more neutral? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul "The Wall" (talk • contribs) 16:14, 25 September 2018 16:14 (UTC)
- @Paul "The Wall":This is a content dispute. Please continue to try to reach consensus on the article's talk page. Only if that fails, proceed as described in WP:DISPUTE.
At no point does that process call for the use of a {{admin help}} template on the helpdesk. Use of {{admin help}} here is intended only when it is not appropriate for the article's or user's talk pages, such as when those pages are protected. If used at all, put it on the article talk page, or go to WP:ANI for time-critical issues like disruption of vandalism, which we are not seeing here. -Arch dude (talk) 16:51, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- Paul "The Wall", I've sourced the apparently non-neutral part you were trying to remove. I've also left you a response on the talk page of the said article. Thanks, Lourdes 06:08, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
