lsm and the local churches witness lee[edit]

I am a 26 year old college student and I meet with the local church in orange. The elders there told me that I'm not allowed to attend the college meeting on fri night because there's 19 year old girls there. I don't understand why they prohibit me. In there masters teachings "witness lee" says that the members of the local churches should receive the believers according to how the Lord Jesus recieves them. The Lord Jesus recieves all believers according to His blood and were all washed in it. And to not refuse and kick out a believer that is seeking the Lord with a pure heart. My question is why do the elders in the church in orange have there own concept contrarie to the word of God and there master "witness lee" it seems that hey make their own rules based on there own self rightiousness just like the pharisees. Jesus said beware of the leven/self rightious rules of the pharisees. And paul says a little leaven ruins the whole congregation. So if your planning on going to that church beware of the leven. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.49.110.63 (talk) 14:42, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The elders in this church may be drawing on 2 Corinthians 6:14: to not be "unevenly yoked with unbelievers." As well as various carnal temptations (see James 1:15). If you know that the teachings of Witness Lee are contrary to the word of God, and you feel this is bad and wrong, then you may likewise want to be contrary to the teachings of Witness Lee. Wikipedia has an article about Witness Lee who died in 1997. It's clear that the OP has come here just to complain about a church but not clear why such a purportedly educated 26 year old preaches so many words of God while misspelling so many words of English. Will-yum by fred neher[edit]

I have the original book by Fred Neher. Do anyone know how uch this book is worth? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.160.0.209 (talk) 14:57, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There are several "Will-yum" comic novels by Fred Neher for sale on Ebay (see www.ebay.com). One from 1958 has a "buy it now" price of $3.25 (US). The cover price when new 35 cents. With paper collectables, condition is typically a factor, and a comic which was handled a lot might sell for less than one in pristine condition. The one I mention has yellowed pages and a tear. Abe Books is the go-to place for book valuations. Your book is worth something between $0 and $12. --Tagishsimon (talk) 15:33, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Remember of course $12 is what a seller is asking, not what they'll give you for it. Richard Avery (talk) 15:43, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know where I could buy a cheap, new cockpit voice recorder which will work without any extra equipment other than data storage cards (ie. has a built-in microphone and all that)? ╟─TreasuryTagbelonger─╢ 20:23, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Will an ordinary microSD-based voice recorder with VOX not work, or does it need to be hardened; if so against what? e.g. fire, flood, impact, all three...? 76.254.20.205 (talk) 21:43, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Try [1] plus [2] - not brand new but ought to be in working order. Having said that, concur with above IP that there is almost certainly a better solution depending upon precisely what you want it for, although of course it is your prerogative how much you want to reveal. An interesting question! Egg Centric 22:12, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
In my flight training days, we used a microcassette recorder which was voice operated. Dismas|(talk) 02:46, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reverse biomimicry[edit]

If biomimicry is when mechanists use biological forms, what is it called when biology adopts mechanical forms?

I am thinking of camouflaging against man-made objects, birds responding to the call of reversing trucks, kudzu emulating latticed fences and the like. Skomorokh 21:10, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Aye familiar with the topic, but seeking a succinct term, and less art than engineering. Skomorokh 02:21, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The Peppered moth evolution article uses the term industrial melanism. The Mark of the Beast (talk) 04:20, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The closest I can think of is Synanthropy and Anthropophily. See also Urban ecology and Urban wildlife.-- Obsidin Soul 05:10, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Shall we coin a term, then ? How about "technomimicry" ? (It seems to have been used here, but in a different context: [3].) StuRat (talk) 07:07, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
