- Template:Cotw1 (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
I do not understand how this works. Magioladitis (talk) 18:09, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
- Comment I get a feeling this was an ACID or TAFI helper template that was transcluded into some banner announcing the current COTW for all of Wikipedia (last used 2006). -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 05:27, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

- Keep—unless the nominator has a suggestion for indicating the information on the article talk pages that this template indicates. Imzadi 1979 → 05:47, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
- Delete — This template refers to efforts from 2008. There do not appear to be specific AID pages for each particular article involved, so I see no reason this template needs to continue to exist. VC 12:25, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
- Subst and then delete per VC. –Fredddie™ 18:31, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
- Comment this indicates a past effort that has already concluded, so it does not require an active project to do what it needs to do. -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 06:38, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
- No reason to keep track of all former collaboration or attempts to improve pages on every page. We can have a list of the former collaboration's page instead. -- Magioladitis (talk) 12:58, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
- I was thinking maybe there should be some unified template for all these AID/COTW/COTM/TAFI/ACID/GOCE improved pages... similar to ArticleHistory. -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 03:44, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

- Comment this template marks a former collaboration, not an active one. So whatever the status of the project, this marks activity that has already been completed. -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 05:36, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

I suggest that we subst and delete this huge banner. It is only used in a single archived talk page Magioladitis (talk) 13:41, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

- Template:Tom Denney (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
It is nice that mr. Denney is also a producer but that does not mean that all albums he produced should be added to a navigation template. His two own works doe not merit a template either, as there is already Template:A Day to Remember The Banner talk 10:38, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was no consensus to delete, but I went ahead and remove the transclusion part, since there seems to be no serious objection to removing it. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 22:49, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
It seems like a bad idea to transclude one talk page in another just for the sake of convenience, as it leads to confusion and doesn't seem to be worth it. Jackmcbarn (talk) 15:43, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
- Perhaps transclusion is not the best idea, but I find it useful to have an easy way of at least notifying editors that a discussion about the edit notice is happening, because it's on an entirely different page and hidden away from regular editors of the article. That's what this template was created for. Typically it is just one editor who requests the edit notice, and others may not even be aware of the request. This can make it hard to determine consensus to post an edit notice. By the way, did you consider raising this at the template's talk page before rushing to TfD? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 07:46, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so a clearer consensus may be reached.
- Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 01:25, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
- delete if someone can identify the appropriate template for adding a centralized-discussion link on a related talk page. I imagine there must be something in Category:talk namespace templates? otherwise, rewrite this one to do the job. Frietjes (talk) 14:48, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
