Assessment #Assessment

This project is dedicated to improving articles on Investment, producing uniform guidelines and standards, and provide a space where users can collaborate to improve related articles.

If you would like to help, please join the project, inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list below.

The goal of WikiProject Investment is to improve the usability of investment articles for investors while still adhering to encyclopedic standards. Currently investment articles suffer from neglect, and a lack of standards. Ultimately this project is dedicated to democratizing knowledge of the marketplace and giving the small-time investor the background needed to make his/her own decisions.

Investment fundamentals, financial instruments, investment strategies, asset classes, theory of options and derivatives, mathematical finance, and relevant aspects of advanced microeconomic theory. Qualified topics are geared towards the personal investor. Topics that are primarily relevant to institutions should instead be directed by another project such as WP:FINANCE.

Investment is a topic with countless ideas: the marketplace of ideas is the very heart of capitalism! One of the critical challenges these articles face is giving salient examples of firms, funds, strategies or investment resources while maintaining NPOV and Notability.

  1. Greg Comlish (talk · contribs) Hi. I'm hoping to improve the quality of investment articles for the small-time personal investor. 16:37, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
  2. Zain Ebrahim111 (talk · contribs) I think it's a good idea to have WP provide investment information to potential (and possibly lay) investors. I'll linger about the to-do list tasks and make any fixups I deem necessary.
  3. Hroðulf (talk · contribs) Interesting project. I have tagged a few articles as project articles, and expanded a few, particularly in the area of collective investments. I would like Dividend to become a Good Article. --13:53, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
  4. John M Baker (talk · contribs) Will try to help out from time to time, particularly on collective investments in the U.S. 23:44, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
  5. Antandrus (talk · contribs) I have some knowledge in specific areas (for example I wrote our articles on the U.S. and Canadian royalty trusts -- PBT, HTE, PWE, etc.) I've also been around for a few years so feel free to ask for general advice on anything. Interesting and potentially excellent project! Antandrus (talk) 14:08, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
  6. Urbanrenewal (talk · contribs) I would like to help as I think this crosses over to several of the areas I have been working on already in finance. Specifically private equity and related topics as well as various topics within corporate finance. I have been working in finance for a little over ten years and have worked in various areas. If you have questions or need someone with familiarity with a subject please feel free to ask.|► ϋ r b a n я e n e w a l ◄| (talk) 02:48, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
  7. Influencenyc (talk · contribs) My name is Mark Rose and I am a public relations professional willing to help improve this section. In a 20 year NYC PR career I have represented clients in personal finance, brokerage, wealth management, asset management, asset consulting - the types of clients that I think are relevant to this Project. We also deal extensively with the "investment" media in print, broadcast, and online.
  8. Nshuks7 (talk · contribs) I am interested in working on fixed income, risk, equity valuation and related topics in finance. My client's are like Mark's (above) but I do analytics rather than PR. If there's an article you think I can contribute to just scribble so on my profile page =) 09:33, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

  13. Protez (talk · contribs) I've observed a lot of poorly written stubs and articles in investment. Though I'm on a learning side on the subject, it would be great to contribute my relevant knowledge and information to improve those articles. Thanks. 03:11, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
  14. peterprov (talk · contribs) --peterprov (talk) 14:08, 25 June 2009 (UTC)(I am interested in working on offshore investment) I have a degree in economics and twenty years as an investment adviser with private clients-10 onshore in the UK and 10 offshore in South America and Singapore. I have the UK planning certificates and Singapore adviser licence. Since Google is using Wikipedia as a source of information on offshore services I thought I would for the first time review some pages. The public could really do with an ‘objective’ source of information in this area. A lot of people could save a lot of money, and heartache, if Wikipedia can get a little more information out. I would like to help and I am studying the various guidelines.
  15. Cylonagen (talk · contribs) I am interested in working on improving the investment section of Wikipedia. i am an investment professional. 01:22, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
  16. Glinos (talk · contribs) I've been doing a lot of investment and finance related stuff lately in my life. Investing is a hobby of mine. I've been trying to contribute to some of the other financial related articles here on Wikipedia and it has brought me here. I'm an accounting grad student at UMUC. I would like to revive this project. We'll see how that works out. 19:55, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

  21. Virtuscience (talk · contribs) I am interested in writing about both individual and commercial investment into more "exotic" investment vehicles. I'd also like to make these methods more transparent to the average person, as I believe it would reduce many of the loopholes high net-worth individuals have available to take advantage of.
  22. Kjhooda (talk · contribs) I am interested in contributing regarding investment risks and their efficient management.
  23. TheSoundAndTheFury (talk · contribs) I am active in this area, filling out articles and so forth. I will start making some articles that don't exist on this topic. Anyone wants to collaborate, let me know.
