William Kirby ("Dr. Will") is a dermatologist, associate clinical professor of dermatology, medical textbook/dermatological journal article author, dermatology spokesman, and reality television personality. He is known for winning both the CBS reality show Big Brother 2 and The Price is Right. Kirby has appeared on multiple medical television programs including multiple seasons of Dr. 90210, The Doctors, and on the shopping network, QVC.

Early life

Kirby was born on January 2, 1973 in Florence, Tuscany, Italy and attended kindergarten in Paris, France. He spent time in his youth in Tallahassee, Florida, where he graduated from Florida State University High School.[citation needed]

Education

In 1995, Kirby received his degree in Biology from Emory University.[citation needed] Kirby received his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his first year of postgraduate training/internship in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, Florida. His three-year dermatology residency training took place in association with Western University/Pacific Hospital where he was selected to serve as Chief Resident in the Department of Dermatology.[citation needed]

Medical career

Kirby is the Chief Medical Officer of LaserAway,[1] an aesthetic dermatology group. He also keeps a small aesthetic dermatology practice in Hermosa Beach, California.

Kirby has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Western University of Health Sciences and as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Dermatology, for Nova Southeastern University. He is also a reviewer for the Osteopathic Medical Board of California.[citation needed] Kirby lectures at national medical conventions on advanced laser tattoo removal techniques and has published multiple tattoo removal articles in medical journals, including in The Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology[2] and The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology.[3] He has authored and co-authored multiple medical textbook chapters regarding lasers and their implications.[4][5]

Medical credentials

A licensed physician in California since 2002, and a board-certified dermatologist since 2007, Kirby is a Fellow by the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. He is currently a member of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology (AOCD), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), and previously held membership in the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and the American Medical Association (AMA). He is the cosmetic trainer for dermatology residents at Western University of Health Sciences. Kirby also served as the national spokesman for Johnson & Johnson's Neutrogena Dermatologics where he appeared on QVC more than 100 times, for Kimberly Clark's Truist skin care line, and as a social media partner for Unilever's Dove Men+Care.

Television career

After winning CBS's Big Brother in 2001, Kirby briefly served as a medical correspondent for Extra!. He appeared in an episode of The Young and the Restless in late October 2006. He was also featured on two seasons of the E! Channel television series Dr. 90210 and made appearances on episodes of Regis & Kelly, The Talk, LA Ink, Chelsea Lately (August 2008), and Reality Bites Back (starring Amy Schumer and Theo Von), and on Fox News. Kirby has made several appearances on The Doctors as himself, in 2008, 2009, and 2012. In 2008, he appeared on multiple episodes of E! News. On March 6, 2011, he appeared in the sixth-season premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County.

Kirby has recorded voices for a season eight episode of Adult Swim's Robot Chicken where he played an animated physician, he appeared in Andy Cohen's Then and Now on Bravo for two seasons, and has been featured Hallmark's Home and Family daytime talk show. In May 2016 Kirby won a celebrity edition of the CBS show The Price is Right, and donated his winnings ($51,030) to charity. Kirby appeared on season seven, episode three of Shahs of Sunset where he implemented a laser tattoo removal treatment. Kirby has hosted the jury roundtable segment and appeared live in the CBS Big Brother season finales in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.[citation needed]

Personal life

In 2011, Kirby became engaged to Erin Brodie, who was a two-time winner of the reality series For Love or Money.[6] They were married on October 27, 2017.[7] They have two children: Their son was born in May 2010.[8] In 2012, Brodie gave birth to the couple's daughter.[citation needed]
