Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:StudioEIS FDR Library.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:FDR StudioEIS.jpg. The copy called Image:FDR StudioEIS.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. License tagging for File:StudioEIS Tuskegee.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:StudioEIS Tuskegee.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:09, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Freedom of panorama problem[edit]

I think most of the images you uploaded for Zenos Frudakis have a freedom of panorama problem. You should review Commons:Commons:Freedom_of_panorama#United_States for specific US details which indicate that recent sculptures require the artist's permission otherwise the image is a copyright violation. If you have any question regarding this situation please ask at media copyright questions. It might be possible to use one or maybe two images under the fair-use criteria. If the images came from Zenos Frudakis himself then you need to have him give his consent to use them, which means that anyone can use them for anything. If so please have hi follow the instructions at WP:CONSENT. Good luck. ww2censor (talk) 04:31, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you arranged for permission to be sent to the OTRS department and all seems well now. Good luck and please continue to make constructive edits to other articles that interest you. Don't stop now. Cheers ww2censor (talk) 20:18, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Calabro Marian.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because images on Wikipedia need to be compatible with the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike or another free license, which allow anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. Note, if you did create this file, you may want to upload it to Wikimedia Commons, which will allow the image to be accessed by all Wikimedia Foundation projects (which include the various localized versions of Wikipedia)

If you did not create this media file, please understand that the vast majority of images found on the internet are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Most content on the internet is copyrighted and the creator of the image has exclusive rights to use it. Wikipedia respects the copyrights of others - do not upload images that violate others' copyrights. In certain limited cases, we may be able to use an image under a claim of fair use - if you are certain that fair use would apply here, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list. If no fair use rationale applies, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 15:03, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kearny, New Jersey[edit]

Hi. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but we cannot accept original research, such as this edit of yours to Kearny, New Jersey. Original research refers to material obtained through personal knowledge, or unpublished syntheses of previously published material, rather than material that is supported by reliable, verifiable sources. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your information. You can learn how to do this at Wikipedia:Citing sources. If you have any other questions about editing, just let me know. File permission problem with File:StudioEIS Motown2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:StudioEIS Motown2.jpg, which you've sourced to INSUFFICIENT OTRS OVER 1 MONTH OLD. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:20, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. Hello?[edit]

I see that you've been an editor since 2006, but you have very few edits, so may not have picked up on how things ought to be done.

If you add some material, which is removed by another editor, you should not simply restore it (except for cases of vandalism, which do not apply here), you should go to the article talk page and discuss the edit.

The article you are currently editing Marian Calabro, has a number of issues, some of which have been documented on the article talk page Talk:Marian_Calabro. There seems to be no evidence you have reviewed these issues. I notice, for example you are trying to use an IMDB source. This is rarely permitted. if you think this is a permitted exception, please make the case. If not, please do not continue to add the material after another editor has removed it and explained why it should be removed.

I do not see any evidence you have ever used this page, which is intended for discussion of issues. You should be getting a red indicator that you have messages. Please acknowledge that you know this page exists.--S Philbrick(Talk) 23:24, 1 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Zenos Frudakis Dream To Fly Cherry Hill.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Zenos Frudakis Dream To Fly Cherry Hill.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 19:36, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
