Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/List of Neighborhoods in Lincoln, Nebraska, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:31, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Hanyou23. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "List of Neighborhoods in Lincoln, Nebraska".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/List of Neighborhoods in Lincoln, Nebraska}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 20:00, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Hanyou, I saw your undeletion request for the Lincoln neighborhoods article, and I think I see what happened here.

I'm not sure whether you realize this, but you had originally submitted this as a sort of "article proposal" (if you will), via the Articles for Creation page. Since you have an account, that step wasn't really necessary... you could've created it from scratch by visiting the empty page. However, it was approved, and some (or all) of the text from your proposal has in fact been a live article since December.

Was there information you'd added to the proposed Creation that didn't make it to the mainspace copy? The bot that left messages here states that the creation proposal was dormant for at least 6 months, so I'm assuming everything made it safely over once the article went live. These proposals eventually expire, whether or not they ever became anything, so that's basically what the bot was warning you about -- without respect to the ultimate fate of the proposal. So, I'm not sure anything bad happened at all, but if you think otherwise, we can talk to an administrator to try and view that creation draft again.

Let me know... and thank you for your help with creating and improving local articles! There don't seem to be too many of us Lincolnites on here. :) Hope to continue seeing you around.

Your GA nomination of Lincoln, Nebraska[edit]

The article Lincoln, Nebraska you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Lincoln, Nebraska for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Designate (talk) 16:26, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

History of Lincoln, Nebraska[edit]

I'm seeing the great work you've been doing to write up the city's history. It has been one of my dreams to have the history of Lincoln on Wikipedia for quite some time, so I'm glad you have taken up getting a working model running. What you've done is no small task... it seemed so daunting to me that it's something I didn't even begin on. Excellent work.

Since this section is looking good with sizable subsections as well, I'm wondering if you've considered eventually splitting "History of Lincoln, Nebraska" into an article of its own. As I'm sure you've noticed, Omaha's history has its own article... my vision is something similar, because then it could thrive and grow to whatever length with even more images to accompany it and even include more mention of one-off historical incidents (such as the 1894 Rock Island railroad wreck). I see that currently, History of Lincoln, Nebraska already redirects to the section.

I plant to jump in and add what I can at some point. Thank you for all of your work.

--OrbitHawk (talk) 20:05, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey OrbitHawk, thanks for the kind words and we would love to have on on board ^_^ ! The task was so daunting for me, too :( ... truthfully, the one who really got the ball going was Gmcbjames. If it wasn't for him, I that we'd still just have the paltry two paragraphs of "Lincoln was named after Abraham Lincoln", etc. ~_~ . if you would like, please see Gmcbjames's user talk page and please feel free to chime in - the more we have to work on this, the better ^_^ !
As far as the separate page goes - I think it's a great idea and something we should do eventually - but I think we should wait a bit until we get most, if not all of the history that we would like to include on the Lincoln page complete... at least initially, before making a new page. Keep things consistent, in one place, keep the years in the right order, etc. Once that gets done, then I think we could transfer it and make a pretty good summary on the original Lincoln page :) . Then at that time, we could also remove the construction banner (the more exposure right now, the better, right :p heh ^_~ ?). At least that's my two cents - please let me know what you think ^^ !
...anyways, please do join in on editing the history of Lincoln XD (and anything else you would like to ^_~ )! Let us collaborate over on Gmcbjames's talk page and see where we get us :) (it's worked for us so far ;p ~)! I take it you're in the Lincoln area - it'd be cool if all of us from Lincoln could sometime have a mini-Wiki get-together conference or something like that :p . I did see your user page... were you CrunchySkies at one time :o ??? Haven't seen him around in a while :( ~...
Ah well, cheers and nice to meet you (more-or-less ^^ heh ;) )! Also, I apologize about my sentencing here - if it seems to wonder around :p ... to tired to think straight tonight ~_~ *sigh*~..... Hanyou23 (talk) 05:25, 21 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. :) Yeah, I was CS. It is good to talk to you again. It looks like the talk on Gmcbjames' page has gotten pretty long, but I'll have a look and help out where I can. It's great that something like this is finally in the works. I agree that a local meetup would be fun at some point. --OrbitHawk (talk) 05:19, 22 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
OrbitHawk Darn CS >o< . Luckily, though, it does look like the suggestion Gmcbjames had - to make a user page over on Wikimedia Commons helped take me off of their list :p . Sometimes it just takes the simplest of things to fix things :p (it would have been nice if my user page over here on Wikipedia would have applied to WikiCommons as well - but then again, whatever :p ~)~.....
...and yeah, I agree, that talk has gotten pretty long over on Gmcbjames' page (but we're having a good time talking :p heh ^_~ !). I think what we were talking about needing to add last... if I remember right, is needing to write up something up about the great bank heist back in the '30's, Charles Starkweather, Helen Boosalis, the trollies of Lincoln, I think something about the mass exodus of Downtown businesses back in the '70's & '80's (including the failed Centrum - on my to-do photo list)... I just remembered Cool Crest after looking at some pages online (might be a nice one to add, too ^_~ ). I must be missing something, but of course anything else of anyone's interest, too ;) . The '97 snow storm might also be one to add. We haven't quite made it to the 21st Century yet, but we were discussing the recent flood - the one they're now calling an over 100-year flood (unofficially, I think :o ). Another couple of idea that just came to mind is the Antelope Valley Project and the West Haymarket development.
So many things to put into the history of Lincoln - but these are just a few ideas :p . Hope I was able to sum it up for you a bit and anything you'd like to add, too, please just mention it for "in the know" and discussion purposes ^_^ .
I might be out-'n about tomorrow again for some additional photos... so any requests of anything you would like a photo of, I'd be happy to do/take :) !
Anywho, cheers and please have a good night ^^ !~ Hanyou23 (talk) 06:09, 22 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, cool. Those all seem like good things to include. I replied on Gmcbjames' page just now before I saw your reply here. I do like the idea of including historical news things such as crimes, etc. in some way. I did have the 1997 storm on my mind, as well as Starkweather which you guys had mentioned previously. 1894 train wreck is a good idea too, I think. There was also a destructive fire in the Haymarket in the 1930s or so -- I might be wrong on the date, as I only became aware of it recently and don't know too many details. West Haymarket/Antelope Valley would be good additions as well.
Speaking of the Antelope Valley Project, it might be nice to have some photos of that, if it isn't still flooded. :P --OrbitHawk (talk) 06:27, 22 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OrbitHawk - the more variety, the better ^_~ ! I do have one photo of Antelope Vally from yesterday here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Union_Plaza,_Lincoln,_Nebraska,_USA.jpg
...and I'm planning on getting more. Just have to wait for it to look a little perkier outside and a little less cloudy/rainy :p . The flood's gone for now from Antelope Creek - just high water in the concrete channel... they're probably still draining Holmes Lake, although I haven't been by there since before the flood to see >_> .....

I'll leave a comment over on Gmcbjames' page also... planning on going over to Gateway today for some photos, hopefully :p .

Until later ^_^ !~ Hanyou23 (talk) 19:38, 22 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Indian Village/Arapahoe Village in Lincoln, NE[edit]

Hi, Hanyou. There was an edit to Neighborhoods in Lincoln, Nebraska regarding Indian Village/Arapahoe Village here. Could you check this out? Thank you. Cheers Gmcbjames (talk) 16:58, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gmcbjames! I've emailed the neighborhood association... we'll see what kind of response we get :) . Thanks for pointing it out ^^ ! Hanyou23 (talk) 19:03, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Gmcbjames, got a reply back... sounds like the name Arapahoe Village is not something that is known except for a garden. So, looks like the edit in question is ok :) . Cheers ^^ ! Hanyou23 (talk) 19:39, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Edits to Lincoln Southwest[edit]

Hi, Hanyou. Your recent edit [1] to the Lincoln Southwest High School page was a great addition. There does appear, however, to be some formatting errors near the Choir and Band sections. I don't want to revert the whole edit, so I've removed a few things that could use another look. Thanks! CH3374H (talk) 17:20, 3 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lincoln GA review[edit]

Hello Hanyou23, I thought commenting on your talk page may ping you though an email alert. Yash! has continued with the GA review after a short break. I have addressed some of his concerns, though there are some items I need your help with - mostly finding sources. No worries, if you don't have time - as I know you have your hands full - I will tackle what I can. Have a great day and enjoy the fall leaves - something I really miss! Cheers Gmcbjames (talk) 18:08, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Gmcbjames - Sorry, I've thought about sending you a message - just can only do so many things right now xD meh. Just got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon since having been there from Saturday morning... got sick before that - Thursday afternoon of last week. Details, if any, probably would head to your email box instead ;o ... but I'm on the recoup and am out of it for the time being ~o~ . Luckily my wife has been able to tale today and tomorrow off - which helps - but I'm pretty darn weak... safe to say that I've lost around 8 lbs. so far during this whole ordeal and I'm still on a restricted diet :/ . There are so many things backed up on my to-do list that I don't have the energy for right now, but I'll take a look over at the Lincoln page when I am able :) . So sorry for my absence ~o~ ~..... ;o Hanyou23 (talk) 18:42, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hanyou, so sorry to hear of your ordeal, do email me and take care of yourself. No worries, I can do what I can with the review and it seems it will draw out over weeks, so no rush on anything. I have tomorrow free, so I can spend time on finding the sources needed by Yash!'s review. My only concern is my edits, so when you are completely in top shape, you can change what you wish - again - I am sure the review will continue for a few more weeks so there is absolutely no rush. The best to you, my thoughts are with you - Gmcbjames (talk) 19:55, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hanyou, I had time this afternoon and took care of what was needed to be done. Take care of yourself - Cheers Gmcbjames (talk) 00:48, 7 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

re: map in lincoln ne[edit]

Hey Hanyou23! Well this map is simply an extra to the article. Like most images, maps or even information are some kind of extra. Lincoln is not really a real major city, and tbh the map is not too interesting compared with similar ones of other cities. However the city is the capital of the state, and at least to me it doesnt look like it hurts anything in particular, like the layout etc. So far it is an interesting extra info to the article. --Joobo (talk) 08:54, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted[edit]

Hi Hanyou23. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! -- There'sNoTime (to explain) 15:47, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi![edit]

Hi! Earlier, when I did not know about the emoticons, I used to type it this way: :) or:P. However, later on somebody used it or this way (which I din't know of earlier), and now I make use of {{p|:)}} or {{p|:P}} (and such emoticons) a lot, so I hope it might be helpful to you (if you already knew that we could type in such visual emoticons, then my bad). Hello Adityavagarwal ^_^ ! Thank you for pointing that out ^^ ! Heh, yeah, I knew those exist :) ... but I guess I'm kind'a old fashioned to a degree and once an old dog has been trained, it's hard to teach him new tricks ;p . Those visual emojis take a little bit more typing - at least in my opinion ;o ... so I've always just kind'a stuck with the usual same old, same old ;p . Thank you so much once again for pointing those out and I hope you have a wonderful end to the week ^_^ ! Ah, maybe one day I'll pick those up - we'll see xD heheh :) . Cheers ^^ !!!~  :) Hanyou23 (talk) 07:39, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A suggestion[edit]

You might want to consider withdrawing your recent post at WP:ANI. That board is for urgent incidents and chronic, intractable behavioral problems. Honestly, your lengthy post doesn't really support that there are any behavioral problems on the part of the other editor. I'm not saying there aren't any, only that your post fails to make a case for them. Reports should be brief, well-supported with diffs that support your claims, and include the steps you've taken to try to resolve the issue(s). From a quick glance at your contributions, it looks like you and the other editor have differing views on the Lincoln, Nebraska article and that you're currently disagreeing about inclusion of a category, yet there is no discussion on Talk:Lincoln, Nebraska about the dispute. I suggest that you withdraw the complaint at ANI and work through dispute resolution steps properly. Schazjmd (talk) 20:43, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Schazjmd: Roger that... this is my first time -- how do I go about it??? I also left the note on the user's talk page :/ . Hanyou23 (talk) 20:46, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Since nobody has replied yet, try just using "undo" on your edit (say something in the edit summary about "withdrawing at this time"). On the editor's talk page, you can undo but I'd suggest just adding a message explaining that you've withdrawn the ANI complaint and inviting the editor to Talk:Lincoln, Nebraska. Schazjmd (talk) 20:58, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Schazjmd: Worked - thank you do very much ^^ (wasn't sure if that page was protected or not ;p )! Spent a half and hour this morning trying to figure out which board to go to and it ended up being the wrong one -- what a waste of a half a day *facepalm* xD ... but thank you again :) . I may just hop off of Wikipedia for a while again... don't need additional Value Added Drama when editors are going to go to war (at the case of Lincoln, NE... my general concern was her approach to things as a whole though) and there are so many hoops one has to jump through to get them pointed out, it seems :/ .....
Would the Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Edit_warring be more appropriate? Again, it's not a hill I want to die on, but I mean, 3RR is a no-no after all, right ;o ? Hanyou23 (talk) 21:11, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The other editor hasn't breached 3RR, and when your edit was reverted, rather than take it to talk, you reverted back — it takes two to edit-war. I wouldn't take it to any board at all at this point. There's been little to no discussion on the article talk page, which is where you should be working these things out. When multiple editors have an active interest in the same article, it's helpful to ask yourself on each point of disagreement how important to the article each point is and whether it's worth a battle. Good luck with your editing goals! Schazjmd (talk) 21:22, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just popping by as an admin to say 'thanks' for undoing your ANI complaint. Despite being TL;DR, I did actually read it all. Being on a mobile I didnt check the 3RR diffs, but all the rest was more of a general moan about differences in editing style, and not a complaint about a specific Incident. I feel Magnolia677 is a serious and considerate editor, wiling to engage and discuss issues. You do too. So I'm sure you can sort out any content dispute without needing to escalate issues to ANI. (Should you ever need to bring another editor to ANI again, it's important you follow the proper notification process to alert the other editor.) @Bjerrebæk: I have not. Your edits on the page 2022 Winter Olympics have been reverted multiple times by multiple editors for not being relevant to the topic and article at hand -- two reverts, in fact, of the same irrelevant line you added/re-added (just for one example)... but I thank you for your misguided concern. I'd leave this same warning on your talk page as well, but I won't be as petty. Happy editing! Hanyou23 (talk) 18:55, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Bjerrebæk: I also find it interesting that you have removed the non-constructive editing notice that I put on your talk page a few hours ago. I will then assume in good faith that you've read and understood it well. Hanyou23 (talk) 19:01, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The only issue is the one related to your behaviour. The fact that I and other experienced editors have reinstated the stable version (of that and other parts of the article) in the Olympics article, while some new editors attempt to water down everything they perceive to portray China in a less than flattering light, is perfectly normal editing. I'm a far more experienced editor than you, so you're in no position to lecture me about how we do things here. I take it that you've now read and understood that your abuse of templates is unacceptable behaviour. --Bjerrebæk (talk) 03:11, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Bjerrebæk: Hey pal, with all respect, I can care less about what you think of me... we are all equals as editors here on Wikipedia. Also, you know nothing about me. I lived CN for a short time. It was okay-ish back then, but even worse now (and I don't like it)... so to assuming that I prefer watering things down about country in question so that said country in question can look better holds no truth. The few words I took issue with you edit... the same few words that were reverted twice (once by one other editor and again by me, since I agreed / had the same assessment as the first editor):

The IOC also "demanded control over all advertising space throughout Oslo" to be used exclusively by IOC's sponsors, something that is not possible in Norway because Norway is a liberal democracy where the government doesn't own or control "all advertising space throughout Oslo" and has no authority to give a foreign private organization exclusive use of a city and the private property within it.

...is the Norway is a liberal democracy wording. The other editor and I see this as irrelevant to the article in general, because Norway is a democracy. Of course everyone knows this -- after all, most of the world governments are the opposite of authoritarian... so to point out that fact when the article you stated it in is as a whole not about Norway -- is again, surprise(!): Irrelevant.
(looking at some of your other edits, it almost feels like you're a bit displeased that Oslo was not chosen for the 2022 games -- to which I sympathize with... but then again, this is just an assumption on my part, so I'm not going to call it out as anything other)
Yes, I've read the template you put on here. Again, I disagree with it; but unlike you, I won't delete it... I don't need to make myself look better through deletion -- I'll wear it as a badge of pride as to who I am (not afraid to hide anything).
...and finally, I see that both of our beginning editing dates here on Wikipedia only differ by a few years. As an editor gets more experienced - when things get heated, they realize that they need to walk away from the situation -- and that's what I'll do. You may leave an additional reply if you wish, but I will not give one in return - I'll take the high road here.
Anywho, happy editing and be well, my Wikipedian brother! Hanyou23 (talk) 05:13, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Second tallest capitol[edit]

Not a problem removing the <ref> in Lincoln, Nebraska to the Louisiana state capitol, but I added it only because it seemed to me the main text raises the logical question, if Lincoln's capitol is the second tallest, what is the tallest? It led me to find out. I thought others might be interested. Johnwellsking (talk) 20:49, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Johnwellsking: Honestly - all good :) . Adding a reference to the fact that Nebraska has the second tallest capitol in the U.S. would be great (if it doesn't already exist within the article)... but since this article is mainly about Lincoln, Nebraska -- and I'm sure (& also know) there are other articles out there telling about each 'n every capitol (even in list form)... clarifying the fact in an article unrelated to it probably isn't the best place to do it :) . They are for sure fun and interesting facts though ^^ ! Cheers and peace ^_^ ~ Hanyou23 (talk) 18:26, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
