A tag has been placed on Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:39, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Isha Gramotsavam[edit]

On 22 September 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Isha Gramotsavam, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the 2015 Rural Olympics, part of Isha Gramotsavam, featured 7,680 players in 640 teams, with Sachin Tendulkar (pictured) as chief guest? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Isha Gramotsavam. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Isha Gramotsavam), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Translation request[edit]

Hi Regstuff, recently, an IP editor - 117.246.95.10 - requested that the article Philippine Drug War be translated into the Telugu language, I answered their request for help, but I'm asking you as I can't speak Telugu and I also notice that you are native speaker of both Telugu and English. If you can help translate, please do! The IP and I would be very grateful. Thank you very much for reading this message.  Seagull123  Φ  20:12, 4 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Need your advice[edit]

@Regstuff:: Hi, I saw that you had reverted quite a few vandalisms in Jaggi Vasudev's page and would like your advice regarding the same. Today, a user named Joshua Jonathan made some edits which suggest negative bias. The user deleted statements with a positive tone, terming them "puffery", even though they were referenced with reliable sources, and promoted controversial statements to the top of the article. Following this, the user pinged editors with negative bias to clean-up the article. The user then falsely accussed me of being a sockpuppet. I joined Wikipedia a month ago and have been editing Jaggi Vasudev's article with up-to-date statements and references for the past two weeks. In my edits I have always followed no OR, verifiability and neutrality. In particular, I have not deleted any criticism. Instead I have added counterpoints from reliable sources to maintain neutrality of the article. I suspect that the user Joshua Jonathan has a negative bias against Jaggi Vasudev and is trying to not only vandalize the article but also block other users who might edit and maintain neutrality of the article. Could you please advise on what should be done in this regard?

  • @Sbhtta: Generally, all biographies of living persons should follow BLP guidelines. NPOV is important, as is ensuring that "contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced should be removed immediately and without discussion. This applies whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable, and whether it is in a biography or in some other article. Material should not be added to an article when the only sourcing is tabloid journalism." Putting the so-called "negative material" by Joshua Jonathan on top is definitely not relevant in this particular case in my opinion. Jaggi Vasudev is noteworthy for things other than this. I'd advise you reply to him that you are not a sock puppet and explain why his edits dont fit into Wikipedia policy. If he persists, please report to an admin. I see that most of your edits are to the Jaggi vasudev page. That might be one reason why you are being accused of being a sock puppet. Please feel free to participate in Wikipedia more.
