Australian Chapter of the ICAI

The Australian Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is an organization in Australia for networking among Australian members of the ICAI. It was founded in 2007 by Padma Shri T.N. Manoharan and is based in Sydney. The Australian Chapter works closely with CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA) and government agencies.

Conferences[edit]

On September 20, 2013 the chapter began organizing its Second International Conference, to develop relations with the business and industry along with their key counterparts in the fields of business and accounting with a presence in Australia and India.

The Australian Chapter hosted its First International Conference on the 23rd of November, 2012 at the Four Points Sheraton, Sydney. Noted economist and former opposition leader, Dr. John Hewson was the keynote speaker. Padma Shri T.N.Manoharan, Chairman, MCA Group and former president of ICAI, was the second keynote speaker at the event. The other speakers were Rob Thomason, Executive General Manager, CPA Australia, Andrew Stringer, Director Asia Pacific, ICAA, Margot Le Bars, Partner, PwC, Ashish Dave, Director of Deloitte Australia’s Transfer Pricing Group, Jon Raju, Account Director at Deloitte Australia and Anthony Patrk, Director of the Corporate and International Tax Group of Deloitte Australia.

The event was attended by more than one hundred delegates from various regions. The event was endorsed by corporate sponsors.
