Beachcroft LLP is one of the largest national commercial law firms in the United Kingdom. The firm specializes in integrated legal services to clients in six main industry groups: financial institutions (including the insurance industry), health and public sector, real estate, technology, industrial goods and services, and consumer goods and services. It employs over 1,500 people, including over 800 lawyers and over 140 partners, and provides legal advice and litigation services from eight UK locations (Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Newport, Winchester, and three in London). The firm also has an office in Auckland, New Zealand.

Beachcroft Dublin was opened in March 2009. It has a representative office in Brussels and a best friends network in Europe.

This year Chambers UK, A Client's Guide to the Legal Profession 2010, recognised 82 Beachcroft partners as leading lawyers with 66 individual rankings in 31 separate practice areas. In Legal 500 2009, a guide to the top 500 lawyers in the UK, the firm received a tier 1 ranking for 21 of its practice areas and tier 2 for a further 14.

[edit] History

Beachcroft can trace its history through a series of mergers back to 1762. The name "Beachcroft" was first used in 1828, when Richard Beachcroft set up his law practice. In the late 1990s, Beachcroft Stanleys and Wansbroughs Willey Hargrave merged to form Beachcroft Wansbroughs, which dropped the name "Wansbroughs" in 2006, to become Beachcroft LLP.
