Untitled[edit]

A very interesting article. Though very little research has been done on the subject. Sandbreak 18:39, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

these templates should go here as per wiki guidlines that i have been reading upon.Vmrgrsergr 04:08, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

Pakistani JewsHistory of the Jews in Pakistan — This article is more about the history of the Jews in Pakistan than Pakistani Jews (implying differences, traits, etc.) I think it should move so that it also follows the naming convention of similar articles like History of the Jews in Libya, etc. —NYC2TLV 03:24, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree it should probably move, but I'm curious about whether it might be better to use a name patterned on Jews and Judaism in Japan. Do you have a preference for your suggested version over this one? Might you like this pattern better than the one you suggested? --Cheers, Komdori 18:42, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

While I am sympathetic to Komdori's suggestion, I must choose between the two proposed titles, and, since the article seems to be written from a historical perspective, I prefer NC2TLV's original suggestion. This article has been renamed from Pakistani Jews to History of the Jews in Pakistan as the result of a move request. --Stemonitis 10:23, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Judaism in Pakistan and Afghanistan[edit]

Judaism is a Religion founded by Abraham and Moses (Peace be upon him). Few people know that Jewish Religion was also present in the Islamic Land of Pakistan and Afghanistan. I dont understand that why Pakistani Jews and Afghan Jews were ordered to migrate Israel, these Jews were Patriotic to there Countries, they were friendly living with Muslim dominiant majority in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The Ancient Jewish Population of Pakistan was situated in Karachi and Western areas of Pakistan, in Afghanistan Ancient Jewish Population was situated in Eastern, Northern and Central areas. Many Muslim scholars and Some Jewish Scholars also accept that Pashtun, Largest ethnic of Afghanistan and 2nd Largest ethnic of Pakistan are Lost Jews from Children of Israel. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.96.64.108 (talk) 20:57, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lead Section[edit]

Refer to Pakistan instead of British India, the Jews were still in Pakistan after Partition. Using British India is not appropriate. Faizan (talk) 13:31, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article is about Pakistan, but the preceding sentence refers to numbers at "the beginning of the twentieth century" so I correctly refered to "those parts of British India that became Pakistan" as the country of Pakistan did not exist then.

Nedrutland (talk) 13:47, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Just due to one sentence?? That sentence refers only to the figures, even not of Present Pakistani Areas, but only of Karachi! You made an edit due to one sentence only, cannot you see the sections of 1947–1968, 1969–1999, 2000–present? These all sections refer to Pakistan, so I think that I have not made a mistake. Article is grossly inaccurate[edit]

Hello,

This article is centered only around Bene Israel community of Karachi and completely ignores the Baghdadi Jewish community of Quetta and Bukharan Jewish population of Peshawar and Lahore. Although none remain today, it's important to highlight the rich multicultural Jewish community that Pakistan (and the territories that now constitute Pakistan) once had. Refer to Pakistani Jews in Israel which I also edited just a few hours a ago. I am hoping someone can help me clean this article up as well. Thank you. --PAKHIGHWAY (talk) 21:16, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Pakistani Jews should be an article[edit]

The latest numbers from the Election Commission of Pakistan suggests that over 900 Jews still remain in Pakistan. The upcoming 2017 National Census should shed light on the current Jewish population in Pakistan. Hence, Pakistani Jewish or Pakistani Jews should be an article on its own. --PAKHIGHWAY (talk) 21:48, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Today there are no Jews in Karachi and as far as Matat knows, there are no Jewish communities elsewhere in Pakistan." https://www.jpost.com/international/a-passage-to-pakistan-609043 I know of only one person claiming to be a Jew in Pakistan, and his brother says he is lying.Malaiya (talk) 00:43, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
