Integration[edit]

The following, taken from List of Puerto Ricans, should be integrated into the page at some point:

Thanks. --Jbmurray 01:01, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I've now done this. --Jbmurray 22:01, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I corrected some typographical mistakes, added some additional descriptor terms, and tried to clean up the page. I believe there are no mistakes on it right now. I also deleted an incomplete (incorrect) listing in references, which should not have been there. Lawrlafo (talk) 06:21, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I added name of Lawrence La Fountain-Stokes.--Mgdelarosa (talk) 04:29, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

tagging the individual author's pages[edit]

I'm trying to tag as many as I can into the WikiProject Puerto Rico, with the PuertoRico-bio stub, and the Puerto Rican writers category.... So far I've been focusing on the short story writers, then I'll move to the novelists. Is there a faster way to do this? Aristophanes68 (talk) 03:37, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have deleted the following entry, which appeared twice: under the letter A and then again under the letter D. I eliminated the incorrect one (A) and left the other. There is no need for the name to appear twice.

  • Nelson Antonio Denis, Esq. (1954-), novelist, playwright, journalist, editor of the Harvard Political Review, co-founder of the Shaman Repertory Theater.[1]--Mgdelarosa (talk) 03:46, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New entries[edit]

I have added a large number of names. We should encourage people to write articles on the authors that appear in red.--Lawrlafo (talk) 06:47, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removed Unexplained Reference[edit]

I have removed this reference which seems to be vandalism, as it was not linked to any author: fantasticfiction.co.uk Lawrlafo (talk) 02:35, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Names for integration to list[edit]

User:Unschool removed these names and suggested articles be written on them. I would propose reintegrating them when possible.

Removed Scientific Researcher[edit]

I am removing this name for lack of relevance. This is a list of literary authors (as explained at the beginning of the list), not scientists.

Sources?[edit]

Where are the sources and references that confirm that those listed are indeed people of Puerto Rican heritage? If this list is to be considered reliable and is to follow the example of the "List of Puerto Ricans" then it should be expected that all additions be accompanied by sources or otherwise be deleted. I will place an "unsourced" tag until that is done. The best way to do this is by using the sources posted in the "List of Puerto Ricans" for starters. Tony the Marine (talk) 18:37, 15 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I also created an "Edit Notice" template for this "List". Now, come on people let's get to work and start referencing. I will wait at least five days before I help out and start removing all unreferenced postings. Tony the Marine (talk) 19:03, 15 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you, give them 5 days or they are out. My name is Mercy11 (talk) 19:37, 15 March 2012 (UTC), and I approve this message.[reply]
Update: I checked them all (all 44) against List of Puerto Ricans, and none of them appeared there, except for one (Manuel Martínez-Maldonado) with I have now updated here. Regards, My name is Mercy11 (talk) 20:02, 15 March 2012 (UTC), and I approve this message.[reply]

Notice

  • User:Mercy11 and I have reviewed all the enteries in this list and provided sourced. The names which do not have sources will be removed once the five days are up unless someone provides them. The names removed and future additions may be added once they meet the pre-established criteria. Tony the Marine (talk) 15:52, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Time's up

  • All unsourced additions have been removed. Please feel free to add the names which cite and provide a reliable source which proofs the persons notability and Puerto Rican heritage. Happy editing Tony the Marine (talk) 04:13, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am trying to reincorporate at least the best known and most famous authors that have been deleted.--Lawrlafo (talk) 03:22, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am incorporating Puerto Rican authors who have Wikipedia articles about them. I have not been adding additional sources.--Lawrlafo (talk) 18:31, 23 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No biography on Wikipedia for Bernardo Vega, the Puerto Rican author and tobacco worker[edit]

For some reason there is no article on Bernardo Vega (Puerto Rico, 1885-1965), who wrote the very famous Memoirs of Bernardo Vega. There is only an article for the Dominican Bernardo Vega (a different person). I removed the incorrect wikilink on the list.--Lawrlafo (talk)

Article has been created, added Wikilink.--Lawrlafo (talk) 17:57, 23 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

New authors and sources[edit]

I have added several new authors to list, including Marta Aponte Alsina, Antonio Martorell, Luis Negrón, and Justin Torres. I have also added references for them.--Lawrlafo (talk) 20:04, 23 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Some updates[edit]

Added Yolanda Arroyo Pizarro, who has a Wikipedia article. Moved Iván Segarra Báez to the S. Added middle initial to Iris M. Zavala.--Lawrlafo (talk) 06:25, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

List needs cleanup[edit]

There are some new additions to the list that do not follow the general guidelines and should be edited. These include the entries for Pedro I. Aponte Vázquez, German William Cabassa Barber, and Ricardo A. Domínguez.--Lawrlafo (talk) 16:34, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Some authors' descriptions include dates of birth and death. Others do not.--Lawrlafo (talk) 22:08, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
