Suggested merge[edit]

  • Opposed - Simply because the Archdiocese of New York has merged the parishes involved is no reason to merge the articles, which deal not only with the parish but with the actual churches. In most cases, merging would be confusing for the readers. Beyond My Ken (talk) 06:13, 24 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • The Decree of November 2014 merges St. Frances of Rome, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony, and Our Lady of Grace. I have place what information found at hand for Our Lady of Grace here as it does not appear to have it's own page. How is that confusing? Mannanan51 (talk) 06:56, 24 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
      • So, let me amend my comment to say that I am opposed in principal to merging articles simply because the Archdiocese merged parishes. If, however, there are some cases where stubs can be merged easily, then I suppose that is OK, as long as there are redirects, and the combined article can be laid out in such a way as to be easily parsed by the reader. • BTW, instead of placing all these merger tags, you would probably have been better off starting on RfC on the general subject of merging aricles when parishes are merged, and advertising in on WP:CENT, so that more of the community would be involved in the decision.
