Apollo Hotel Amsterdam[edit]

Hotel Apollo

Created by Dr. Blofeld (talk), Rosiestep (talk), Drmies (talk) and Yngvadottir (talk). Nominated by Rosiestep (talk) at 05:24, 6 December 2014 (UTC).

  • The article is new enough and long enough, but there are some problems with the sourcing. Maybe I'm missing something, but I found no discussion of Albert Boeken's role in "Monumenten", nor Alexander Bodon's in Grove Art Online. There is no discussion of the Golden Tulip brand in the "Apollo Hotel Amsterdam first Wyndham in Europe" article (a self-reference, but acceptable here). No citation for the year in the statement "In 2000, the Apollo Pavilion was updated to form the tangerine-hued seafood restaurant, La Sirène, with a wide range of shellfish". and the statement itself is ungrammatical. Waiting on QPQ as well. The hook fact is verified and interesting. The image is appropriate and available under a free license. If the issues with the sourcing can be addressed I think we're good to go. Mackensen (talk) 13:39, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
@Rosiestep: Are you still working on this nomination? There are some citation tags in the article that need addressing. Fuebaey (talk) 23:25, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
Regarding the citation tags: (1) The "Bodon", the "In 2000..." and the "Gold Tulip" sentences came from the Dutch translation, which lacks inline citations, so we can delete these sentences if the co-editors, Dr. Blofeld, Yngvadottir, and Drmies aren't able to add inline citations for them (I couldn't find refs for them in English); (2) @Drmies: Can you please look at the "527829" sentence and its citation tag? --Rosiestep (talk) 00:23, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
Hey Rosiestep, I don't see the problem--the moment I click on that link this opens up, with a little pop-up screen in the middle that has that identifying number in it... Drmies (talk) 05:14, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
Hi Drmies, I see the number, too, so I don't know why the editor who added the tag sees it as a problem. I thought maybe you might understand what they were getting at. If you think it's ok as is, you could remove the tag and include a detailed edit summary. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:20, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
@Rosiestep: I've tried to source the Bodon fact and remmed last bit. Could you add a QPQ to this nom? Fuebaey (talk) 04:47, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
I've added the QPQ. --Rosiestep (talk) 05:03, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. Mackensen, care to finish this review? Fuebaey (talk) 05:22, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
@Fuebaey: Maybe I'm missing something, but the first two sentences (beginning "The Apollo Hotel originates...") are still unsourced. The first citation is to "Monumenten", which includes the number, but nothing else. Thanks, Mackensen (talk) 14:28, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

Odd, not sure why I didn't get that ping. Hi Mackensen, I've added a Boeken's bio to the statement. Any other probs? Fuebaey (talk) 17:55, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

  • Thanks for all your work on this. Mackensen (talk) 23:05, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
