Image without license[edit]

Unspecified source/license for File:TetusoShimaAkira.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:TetusoShimaAkira.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 11:45, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:TetusoShimaAkira.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:TetusoShimaAkira.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 01:37, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free content[edit]

As you are uploading non-free images, you need to read and understand Wikipedia's non-free content guidelines and ensure that any non-free images meet all of the non-free content criteria. For example, you uploaded a new version of File:Harry Potter character poster.jpg without providing a source (WP:NFCC#10a). Note that the licensing information identifies the image as poster which is true for the original image but not true of the image you uploaded. -- Whpq (talk) 02:13, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Gandalf. Your edits continue to appear to constitute vandalism and have been automatically reverted.

  • If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.
  • ClueBot NG makes very few mistakes, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been considered as unconstructive, please read about it, report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again.
  • If you need help, please see our help pages, and if you can't find what you are looking for there, please feel free to place {{Help me}} on your talk page and someone will drop by to help.
  • The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Gandalf was changed by Donna201299 (u) (t) ANN scored at 0.898565 on 2021-06-06T02:37:43+00:00

Copying licensed material requires attribution[edit]

Hi. I see in a recent addition to Invincible (character) you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of the license. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa (talk) 12:45, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you uploading new images over existing images without discussion?[edit]

These images may be consensus-based, and should not be replaced without at least discussing with the original uploader. BD2412 T 06:02, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop making these changes without discussion. BD2412 T 16:59, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:TetusoShimaAkira.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:TetusoShimaAkira.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:27, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

June 2021[edit]

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 60 hours for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without evidence of permission. Please take this opportunity to ensure that you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  BD2412 T 20:15, 12 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Given your absence of communication regarding the numerous issues raised on this take page, I presume that you either can not see them or are ignoring them. Either way, your pattern of uploading different images over existing image titles without discussion must stop. BD2412 T 20:14, 12 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fan art on Middle-earth articles[edit]

Hi, thanks for your good intentions on this project, but we have a policy of no fan art in infoboxes. There are several excellent fan sites that welcome art Wikipedia is obviously not such a site; our purpose is encyclopedic not illustrative or enthusiastic. I do hope this is not too disappointing for you. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 04:23, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, the image is copyright by the Brothers Hildebrandt, i.e. we have no right to use it because it belongs to them. Wikipedia is rather hot on such matters: it has to be, as otherwise authors, artists, and musicians would forever be suing for enormous sums of money. Hope this is clear. Misleading overwriting of File:Legolas.jpg[edit]

Hi, I was shocked to see you had overwritten the existing photograph of Orlando Bloom playing Legolas. Perhaps you were trying to evade the WP:COPYVIO notices and administrative blocks you have been receiving for uploading images that do not belong to you? Whatever, it is utterly wrong to overwrite a photograph with a painting (or anything else for that matter). I see you had done the same thing at File:Kratos PS4.jpg but at least have self-reverted in that instance. Please never overwrite any file again. It is deceptive and misleading, and completely unworthy of any Wikipedia editor. @BD2412: - this seems to be an ongoing issue. Chiswick Chap (talk) 13:40, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
