Snowy Belfast page deleted

I have read the notability section of Wikipedia and would like to know in which way I can verify that the band for which the article I was adding is indeed real, as well as relevant to the Melbourne music scene. They are an up and coming band that have received much press, however Wikipedia does not consider any of these places 'credible sources' (see: Inpress Magazine)

Bolding in charts

Thank you for telling me about not bolding peak positions in a music chart. I did not know that it was considered as a loss of neutrality. I changed some other pages that I worked on, but most of them had already been corrected. I'll remember this the next times I add charting positions. Thanks again, Bdx (talk) 11:11, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Tha Carter IV

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Tha Carter IV. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tha Carter IV (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:16, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

Distant Relatives

You removed the "non notable" reception and replaced it with one from a site the "Non notable" reviewer used to run by a writer he trained and another that who's editor in chief is someone who trained under the "non notable" reviewer. hey

Dear Mr. Sanchez,

I am fairly new to Wikipedia editing, but I don't understand why you keep changing the associated acts on Asher Roth's page. The ones I listed are all relevant associated acts. He went on a nationwide tour with Kid Cudi (The Great Hangover Tour in the summer of 2009). Also the others I listed (Cee-Lo, Keri Hilson, and Chester French) were all features on his last album. Considering this, I am asking for you to leave that part as it stands.

Thank you for your time, Charles —Preceding unsigned comment added by Charlespotenza (talkcontribs) 13:17, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Recovery (Eminem album)

It seems like you can edit this page so I figured I'd ask you, then. The scans from the booklet recently came out with the production notes inside of it. I was wondering if you would change them accordingly if I sent them to you either today or tomorrow. Stuff like that really bugs me when the information is out there haha. L-Burna (talk) 08:36, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Sure, I'll add them to the article if you provide them. Maybe some people will put up the information, since the song will be released very soon. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 23:17, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
Also take a look at WP:LEAD; the opening paragraphs are supposed to be a brief summary of the article itself, so your reason for reverting isn't really valid. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 22:06, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

For Relapse Album I think that you should Include Crack A Bottle because it charted at #1 on the charts and it's a well known track on the album. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nikmek99 (talkcontribs) 14:18, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for handling a date changer

Thank you for undoing the vast majority of the recent edits by User:24.190.30.84. This IP has been changing dates on music articles for over a month now. I'm going through cleaning up the rest of the edits, and I left a final warning on their talk page. This kind of vandalism is a major problem, all the more an issue because oftentimes these are legitimate edits. However in this case, the sheer volume of changes, many of which are undone immediately after, and the lack of any other sorts of edits make me skeptical, as it did you. Thanks for the help. It's always good in such blatant cases to leave a warning on their user page too, it helps escalate the process (if they had a final warning before they could be blocked now... as it is we have to wait and watch) and alert others that the edits are illegitimate. Shadowjams (talk) 05:02, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

I am having some opposition at this discussion, and apparantely one of them has threatened me w/blocking for the recent edits I made to Voodoo (D'Angelo album) and The Root concerning a video interview source and the Gearslutz source (only for Elevado's info on his own individual work). User:Jrod2 said "U cant use what Elevado said about Hunter at gearslutz or any other place period. It makes no difference if ya find another source; ya just cant add that type of content regarding LP". I would really appreciate some help. Dan56 (talk) 23:05, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Don't understand

I note that you speedily deleted Kafani. I'm confused and am hoping that you might help. In doing hangon patrolling this morning I came across the A7 nom and declined it because I confirmed that the article subject had a charted single at Billboard, meeting WP:BAND #2. Since a declined speedy cannot ordinarily be reasserted, I'm surprised to see the A7 deletion. Not being a sysop, I can't look back to see what happened. I'm not asking for undeletion or deletion review, I bow to your judgment on that, I just don't understand what happened and would like to know if and how I messed up in declining the speedy. Best regards, TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 19:58, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

I guess the action for speedy deletion was very quick before you left a hangon. The main concern I had with the article was the bio information, which was Biography of the artist. It was a direct copy from his site and it could have been considered as a copyright violation, since the material in the site was copied and pasted into Wikipedia without permission. However, having one song charted in the Billboard is enough for the artist to have his own article. Consider of re-writing the biography into text that is not copied from another site and adding the source of the information you derived it from. I hope this information is enough to get the article started. Apologies for any inconvenience. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 20:44, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

The source in which you mentioned does not specifically mention "Watch the Throne". You could consider looking for other sources that are more specific on the release of the song. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 20:45, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi, please may we have back 'Modernism poetry'. It is not a hoax, it is a social experiment to get people to think for themselves, and think together, and this form of poetry, which is essentially metapoetry, is an idea discussed at length, and contains blatent errors to show how people interact with mistakes.

It may seem odd, but it does work, and the stories told on tthe page are true, and if it works we will have a paper to publish on the results, but the key is the page. we need the page to be effectively enough so that we have created something.

The goal we have set ourselves is to 'CREATE SOMETHING WHICH WILL MAKE PEOPLE THINK, AND INTERACT'.

if you read the actual page, we explain at the end what it is about, and all the supposed jibberish makes sense, and we get people thinking.

Lots of work has gone into this idea, and the theory works, wehave seen a peice of graffiti in leicester that says 'Title: a poem created by 'Colin jetes' Poem; BREIF, that was the idea for usuing a mysterious person, as people relate to sollve the unknown, as was shown by our peers which we tested the poems on. People love to write lines onn them, and its a fun thing to do, if you have the time (as students do)to think about things.

Policy on Classification by Ethnicity, Gender, Religion and Sexuality

Hi, I have a problem with the article White Argentine. In the article I mentioned many people who are Argentine by birth and by option (they immigrated when they were children and stayed in Argetnina until their death, or they are now living there). All those people mentioned in the article are perfectly Caucasian by phenotype, and all have European/Middle Eastern ancestry. To see the names, check this older version of the article, for they are now removed. This is because some users appeared criticizing the article and alleging that mentioning all those persons without a source that explicitly define them as "White Argentine/Argentinian" was a breach to Wikipedia's BLP policy. Is that true? Because I read the article of WP policy on categorization by ethnicity, gender, religion and sexuality, and the topic "Race" is still under dispute. Besides, one of the users that criticizes the article is also involved in the proposal/discussion/RfC of the policy itself. If the matter isn't still resolved, can they apply a rule that it is not fully valid yet? If I provide sources that every living Argentine mentioned in the article is of predominantly European ancestry, isn't that enough to define him/her as White? Please, help me clarify this doubt.--Pablozeta (talk) 12:29, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

There exist no specific notability guidelines for bus routes, so WP:GNG is the relevant guideline. Since this route doesn't seem to meet those requirements, it was nominated for deletion a year ago, but without reaching consensus. More recently, List of bus routes in Central Suffolk was nominated for deletion, again without consensus. There seems to be as yet no general consensus on how to handle these kinds of articles. Question about song articles

In response to this.

Hi. I can not understand something. Why does some albums like The Division Bell, which even is not so notable in context on band's other albums and there are just two charted songs as well, has articles about every song in the album, but some albums, maybe a little bit less notable, can not have articles about every song? Like The Slip (album). Is there something to do with the band and its notability? Because you can not say that, for example, Lost for Words (song) is really notable song per Wikipedia:Notability (music). --GreenZeb (talk) 06:34, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

I can not add any new content if you keeping deleting my page.

Is there any way to save my page to let me add more content next time without risk (such as power lost) before you delete my page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Donlien (talkcontribs) 00:28, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for suggestion, but I can not add any new content if you keeping deleting my page.

Is there any way to save my page to let me add more content next time without risk (such as power lost) before you delete my page?

If a page must have huge amount of contents to be qualified, then you have to give me time let me edit it before your "speedy delete".

How can I continue my work to build a page if you keeping deleting ? Have I to sit here for over 72 hours without sleeping to build a page with huge amount of contents then I can save it, make it "important & significant", and you won't delete it?

How about a "Save to local disk" button for users, then we can go to sleep and don't need to build a page for our whole life? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Donlien (talkcontribs) 00:41, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Inconvenience, unfriendly, terrible

First of All, Thank you for explanation, but I didn't blank your page. It's a Wikipedia's bug, I guess.

Since I tried to edit my first message here and click "save page" 3 times, the content what I changed was gone or something like bugs messed it up every time. I thought "Come on, you 'speedy deleted' my message again???".

So I decided to leave another new message.

Sorry, if it bothered you.

I know maybe the Wikipedia is not your design, you are under no obligation to listen any suggestion. But... hey, how come the page edit function is so awful? It even did not have "save draft" button for this message. What can I do if something happened and I have to leave, can not continue to edit it? To save a incomplete page on your talk list? Or just abandon it?

I am sorry I didn't know the sandbox things and posted page directly. But... come on, the button is "Save Page", not "Post page", how could I know if it is just saved and you guys will read first, or it will be "posted" immediately?

And if the "sandbox" & "user sub page" are so important for a new blank page, why does the system not just navigate user to it when he create a new page?

I can think about the Wikipedia now is "Inconvenience", maybe another word "unfriendly", "terrible".

It is very easy to make user hate it!

Thank you for listening my grumbles. I guess this system was not made by you, but because it is so unfriendly, I don't know where is safe to tell my suggestion to the designer and won't be "speedy deleted", and maybe so senior user, so loving this system you are.. can tell some suggestion to the designer for rookies like me.

Thank you anyway.

PS: BTW, maybe the designer can build a system like the review system as iTunesconnect of Apple app store. The iTunesconnect is very convenience.

can you explain your rationale for deletion of the second edit? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MarcButterly (talkcontribs) 09:52, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

i'm just going to rewrite again if you've not got the manners to explain yourself, if very frustrating that this second edit has been deleted.... the first one was "too commercial" the second one didn't distinguish it's encyclopedic importance..

Stephanie Perkins article

You recently deleted an article that was quite legitimate. Yes, for a few minutes, the author was having fun because she finally made it to wikipedia, but she is a best selling author. please reinstate her page. I will ensure that it remains accurate.

Butting in: I tried to clean up the article, but I don't think it can be called "legitimate". Stephanie Perkins really isn't a big enough author to deserve her own page on Wikipedia, and being a Nerdfighter doesn't make her any more notable (especially with all that random cruft thrown in there). The article should remain deleted. Lexicografía (talk) 01:15, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

She is actually quite a big author. And I realize that for those who are unfamiliar with nerdfighting might think a lot of that was 'random cruft' but in fact is pertinent to nerdfighteria. If need be, there will be no nerdfighteria talk, but she really is a great, well-known author that deserves her own page. Please undelete.

Can you prove to me how is she notable? How is she significant? If she is a best-selling author, can you show me a source that states that title? --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 01:29, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Please delete and create-protect the article. I have done some research and there is not enough sourceable material nor is she notable enough to support an article on her. Lexicografía (talk) 01:48, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

If I can provide you with a petition that she has affected at least 100 people, will you allow her article to remain?

No, that will not help at all. I can put it up as an article for deletion, since I found one source that mentions the euthor's book but I am unsure if it is enough to establish notability, since the article briefly mentions the book. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 01:56, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
John Green openly advertises Stephanie Perkins book, to all of his fanbase in this video. John Green is best selling author. Also she's currently scheduled to appear on the YA panel at Comic-Con so apparently THEY think she's notable enough. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Luckiestxclover (talkcontribs) 02:04, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Also, there are substantial reviews of the book by bestselling authors, such as Maureen Johnson here. And Kirkus has a starred review. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Luckiestxclover (talkcontribs) 02:22, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Reviews and mentions of the book do not count toward an article for the author. Lexicografía (talk) 02:27, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
The fact that she wrote the book should prove that she's notable. The book can't stand on its own without an author behind it. Without the author, the book would not exist, therefore, she is notable. Reviews from notable sources should count to prove her creditably.

Getting published at all should contribute to notability considering not everyone can do it. She also has a second book being released in September, so it is not just one book that she is known for.

In fact she actually has been signed for a three book deal. As stated here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Luckiestxclover (talkcontribs) 02:45, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

posting wikipedia article tripple m

it says deleted because of "No explanation of the subject's significance (real person, animal, organization, or web content))" the article clearly states the importance of the artist in both India and Canada. It also has the entire bio with references why does it keep being deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.251.228.104 (talk) 05:57, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

The reason being is because the article you created (I am assuming you are the creator of the article) did not present any sources that show this artist's notability. A Facebook and a MySpace page was not enough. Moreover, a Google search for "Tripple M" does not return any results on the artist. Thus, this would diminish your claims you made about the artist. If you want to keep the article up, show reliable sources on the artist and the article is more likely to remain up. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 06:02, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

I can provide scans of the new paper articles showing notability of the artist and other literary sources from India. Would that help at all? what other type of sources would be sufficient? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.251.228.104 (talk) 06:08, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

That can help but if you leave out references such as "YouTube views," that will better because YouTube views does not establish notability. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 06:10, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

would the promoters page, db promotions which is one of canada's largest promotions company also work? also the artist has worked with a producer who was named canada's top music producer. and if you google something like tripple m tm3 records or just tripple m and click on the search instead of tripple m button, it will show up on the first and second pages — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.251.228.104 (talk) 06:14, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

I suggest sources, such as notable new sources like from published magazines, would suffice. Any other sources might not encourage the notability of the artist. Check this out as a guide. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 06:18, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for the article with the guidelines. How and where should i upload the scanned articles to show as sources/references? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.251.228.104 (talk) 06:24, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

A quick guide on how to referencing material: right here. To upload images, you can upload them here. However, I am not sure if you can upload the sources into the database, so I suggest to use this template {{helpme}} into your userpage so you ask another user on about using scanned documents as sources. I think a simple upload page into a image-hosting site would be OK. But ask, just to make sure. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 06:29, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

I have read the notability section of Wikipedia and would like to know in which way I can verify that the band for which the article I was adding is indeed real, as well as relevant to the Melbourne music scene. Deletion of Florida Old Time Music

We represent the FOTMC and many of the people who have promoted and added over 50 years of musical culture in Florida. We can not copyright infringe on ourselves, and need to provide a venue to go beyond the FOTMC site so others in Florida can add to information about Florida Old Time Music. It is unique and separate from the rather general term "Old Time Music"

Please revert your deletion of FANN, as it was already deleted before I could respond to the tag for speedy deletion.

Deletion of article FANN, erroneous criteria cited, please reinstate the article. Specifically criteria A7 is invalid. The article was a work in progress and was deleted before any further work could be done. Causing the loss of several hours of work when there was a conflict during submission.

A7. No indication of importance (individuals, animals, organizations, web content).

The article is not about any of those items. It is a widely used neural network library (library as in compiled code, not as in books). It is included in the main distribution of nearly every current version of Linux (baring perhaps a few of the less used distros) and is widely used in academia and industry.

Further G11 is also invalid as it is not promotion. As stated, the library is already widely used and the article did not even link to the libraries website (yet).

"Causing the loss of several hours of work..." when the article was "Shamelessly copypasted from the website". OK, I'll let you edit the page. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 03:17, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Regarding Angry IP Scanner, I am having trouble understanding why you speedy deleted it under the A7 criterion. The criterion's description pretty clearly states that it does not apply to "books, albums, software, or other creative works," where Angry IP Scanner is software. Logan Talk Contributions 03:21, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

I was more lenient to "web content" but now that you point that out, I think it refers to something else. However, the article did not seem to written to show notability. If there was a way to change that, I would like to know. Thanks for pointing out my error. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 03:33, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Why would you delete Angry IP Scanner? Why not delete the article named Superscan? What's the difference between Superscan and Angry IP Scanner when the pages both have significant information about port scanners?? Why is Superscan the only special port scanner that deserves preservation of its article rather than a deletion? The articles both contain valuable information, and BOTH of them shouldn't be deleted under ANY criterion. I need a clear explanation or an apology for this. Thanks for your time.
