I noticed that you have been adding extra images to the M car sections of the articles on the base model [1] with the text between the two images, I think this may be inconsistant with the MOS section regarding image placement (MOS:SANDWICHING). I am not sure but just wanted to make sure you were aware of this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Toasted Meter (talkcontribs) 16:04, 1 January 2018 (UTC)

Toasted Meter, I'll restore back to normal version --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 01:07, 2 January 2018 (UTC)
Hi EurovisionNim. Sorry for reverting your edit. I didn't realise it had been discussed here. It must seem like you can't win either way! Personally, I don't think the Sandwiching is a problem in this case, but feel free to change it back if you like. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 11:00, 2 January 2018 (UTC)

Audi Photos

I had a wonderful day yesterday at the Listers Birmingham Audi in Shirley. They had pretty much the entire inventory of all the latest RS and S Variant of there models. I took the opportunity to photographed each one as best as I can both front and rear and it was one of the most fun things I have done during my car spotting. I hope these images will become very useful to the WikiProject Automobiles. --Vauxford (talk) 14:08, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

Vauxford – Could tell :) – I have been busy with uni preparation and also an upcoming driving assessment, so really didn't do much car photography --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 14:09, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
Indeed, where I was there a road just full of dealerships. There a BMW, Audi, Dacia, SEAT, Honda, Toyota, Jaguar, Ferrari you name it. I'm hopefully gonna go there again in the coming months. --Vauxford (talk) 14:27, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

Need help with my camera

Hey, this new camera I got for my birthday, brilliant camera but it annoys me for some reason when focusing on the car when I go car spotting, it ends up focusing one half of the vehicle and blur out the other. What I wanted it to do is do what my Point and Shoot did and just focus on the entire thing. I know it does that to focus on the subject automatically but for the case I have with vehicles it annoying to see one half sharp and clear and the other half all blurry.

My model is a Canon EOS 200D which just the below the model you have and I presume it has similar settings. If any advice or help to get it so it can focus on the entire would be greatly helpful.

Many thanks.--Vauxford (talk) 00:13, 31 January 2018 (UTC)

UPDATE: After setting the aperture up it did help not blur out the other half of the vehicle however as I learnt setting the aperture too high tends to make the picture excessively brighter even when I took it was the perfect weather condition, overcast and cloudy. I think because the ISO goes up the higher I set to which resulted with photos like these.
I was annoyed from this as I went for a pretty good run with over 50+ photos uploaded on that day. --Vauxford (talk) 23:59, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
Vauxford, compared to the other images, these are actually very good --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 01:34, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
I see, I did tone down the aperture priority and from my recent uploads it seem to have improved overall. --Vauxford (talk) 01:58, 11 February 2018 (UTC)

Cars that need photographed or need better versions

Hey Nim. To further help out with Automobile photographs and also makes my car spotting slightly more fun. Would it be possible to give a list of cars need photograph (whether there lack of images of it or need a better quality) I'll be happy to have a list that I can look at so I know what to look out for. --Vauxford (talk) 11:43, 9 March 2018 (UTC)

Vauxford, consider it done. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 11:54, 9 March 2018 (UTC)

Jaguar I-Pace "Prototype Vehicle" spotted

Hi Nim, I want to show this image since your into Hybrids/Electronic vehicles. Saw a family of 3 parking this Jaguar I-Pace in the streets of Leamington Spa. What interesting about this is it has stickers on both the front and rear bumper saying "Prototype Vehicle". Usually I would never upload a image I took that is badly blurred or covered in snow but I just couldn't resist, hopefully I would get a better shot since I live near one of the facilities in Gaydon and a Garage not too far away.

P.S: Don't mean to sound impatience but how far are you done with that list of vehicles need photographing? --Vauxford (talk) 17:25, 19 March 2018 (UTC)

Vauxford, I am so busy with uni mate. I haven't found any cars of interest to you. I'll do my best --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 04:08, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
No problem, take your time. --Vauxford (talk) 07:53, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

Your recent edit..

Make the UK the 51st state? How silly. Each component would have to be its own state to make it fair, so we'd have states 51 through 54. Or maybe 53; Northern Ireland might not be big enough to justify statehood (Hell, Guam isn't really big enough and they're good folk) so maybe they'll become a territory. --Barstern (talk) 14:22, 4 June 2018 (UTC)

Barstern, never made that edit --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 14:26, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
Okay. I am sorry. I am a karaite at the best of times. --Barstern (talk) 14:58, 4 June 2018 (UTC)

Hatchback images

Hello EurovisionNim. I think it is useful to show a few examples of hatchbacks at the start of the article, therefore I would like to restore these images. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 02:00, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

1292simon, because there is little space in the article, maybe include one or two but not three or more as we need to free more space --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 02:02, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
  • No worries, I will only add two to the intro. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 02:04, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
1292simon, i'm on the article, I'll do it --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 02:05, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

Limousine, Panel van

Hello again. The brash party/novelty limousines are probably the type of limousine that most readers are familiar with, so I think it is worth having a picture of one at the top of the article. If there is a better quality image than the one I added, I am happy for that to be used instead.

Regarding the panel van, I would like to see images of the 1940s Ford, Austin A35 and Morris Minor 1000 included in the article. Also, the Transit, Trafic and Sprinter are very similar vehicles, so I think the opening images should show a greater variety of panel vans. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 00:13, 19 June 2018 (UTC)

Done cheers --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 02:45, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
Great, thanks for taking my comments on board. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 09:14, 19 June 2018 (UTC)

Huge batch of pictures

Hi Nim, I recently went to the Old Ford Rally 2018 event at Gaydon. It also the most photographing I done in one day (I took about 265+ photos) but lots of good quality images in my opinion. Useful to replace any of the ageing pictures in there respective articles. --Vauxford (talk) 03:19, 19 July 2018 (UTC)

Latest photos

Hi Nim, just so you know I just edit one of your latest photos of the facelifted Mazda6. Adjusted lighting to give it a less harsher shadow over it. Sorry if I'm nitpicking a bit, but there was one opportunity that you could've wait a few more second until the bystander went out of your shot which seem to be a common factor with your pictures, especially in streets that seem to be quiet at the time, but I might be wrong. --Vauxford (talk) 19:21, 17 August 2018 (UTC)

Vauxford, no problems, but the Japanese image looked horrid. I kept telling him to get out of the shot, but he would not listen. I prefer Fremantle due to the volume of cars making it easier for me to picture. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 01:29, 18 August 2018 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Hi Nim, I been viewing your recent photos. A lot of them are good examples and it great that you found a decent spot to find them. However, I'm concern of how you been editing recently. Personally I think your starting to get a bit carried away when deciding whether the picture should actually be replaced or not. Replacing them over minor or fussy reasons can be frustrating not just to me and you but to other photographers and editors; but from reading your edits, it beginning to look like that. Your getting a bit rigid over the whole following WP:CARPIX guideline as a reason for your edits.

Although CARPIX is a good guide to have a basic understanding of how to photograph a vehicle. If a photo of a car doesn't follow CARPIX in some minor aspect doesn't make it a bad photo, the guidelines on CARPIX are there to help you but doesn't stop you from doing it in your own style.

In the past I did used to photograph and heavily relying on CARPIX guidelines and I admit my habits of editing is no better but after digging through and seeing the backstory and the reason behind why CARPIX was rewritten, I began distancing myself from it, I started doing it in my own style and now think it doesn't harm for a pictures to be used even it doesn't meet 1 or 2 guidelines in minor aspects (3/4 view, front and rear should always be prioritises though). Also I see your taking inspiration on some of the ways I photograph cars such the side shots.

In a nutshell if you are planning of replacing more photos in vehicle/vehicle-related articles just decide if it really necessary to or not. If the car has a spot of dirt or two or have 1/10th of another car protruding behind or even a couple of street objects, please reconsider, especially the Wikiwide edits. (The one you did with the Audi Q5 was fine because it was grainy since I took it before I had my DSLR). If your not sure when coming across this, just drop by on my talk page.

Thank you. --Vauxford (talk) 22:29, 18 September 2018 (UTC)

Vauxford Thanks mate, sure if you don't think I need to rely on WP:CARPIX i'll do it my way :)) – I now do a lot of car photography on my own in Fremantle. People in the central heart of Fremantle are extremely nice. So far, I've never had any complaint, yet alone people allow me to picture their cars, without any hassle. I remember, the Land Rover Discovery Sport owners granted me full permission to picture their car because they knew it was for Wikipedia. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 01:52, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
Additionally, the only reason for these minor fussy edits, is because to ensure that the best quality image is being used for Wikipedia. I don't just rely on my own images. If I deem another image meeting a set standard I then analyse the image and see if i can use it for the article. What people don't really consider is despite image maybe being slightly lower quality but it has a good background --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 04:41, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
EurovisionNim, I was already aware that you have good relation with people in Fremantle but I'm juat saying please think about if it really necessary or not with these edits, the photo does not always have to be perfect. Please consider reading again of what I said above as well as the discussion that we had with Charles01 over our "blindspots" because he made some fair points on there.
You need to remember the subject matter of the photo is the most important part. The background, although important should not be allow to distract from the car and you cannot always choose the background. My cars are usually found on the medieval streets of Warwick or the regency street of Leamington Spa, were there are many parking restrictions. Because of the narrow streets, many of my cars are found on off-street car parks.
Further point, the background can compliment the car. For example: in Warwick, the car may be in front of a tudor cottage or a Georgian house which are common around Warwickshire. Then maybe a Victorian gas lamp in the background. These may enhance the image rather then detract from it. --Vauxford (talk) 17:44, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

Perth meetup

Hi. I don't know if we've met, but hi from Fremantle! I noticed that you're in Perth. You probably already know about it, but Wikipedia:Meetup/Perth/52 is on tomorrow if you're interested in coming along. Sam Wilson 01:31, 29 September 2018 (UTC)

Samwilson – I will see whats on my schedule. Maybe I'll bring some friends along. I'm actually usually not free on Weekends due to studies, but I'm in Freo on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Also I can't do any last minute activity, I need notice, say 1 week before. Have a good weekend --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 03:32, 29 September 2018 (UTC)
Cool, would be great to see you! And yeah, sorry about the last-minute notice, I only just saw your user page (I can't remember how I ended up here). I'll ping you about the next one when we've got a date (will see if it can be a weekday afternoon maybe, for a change; the last few have all been weekend and a change might be nice). Sam Wilson 04:30, 29 September 2018 (UTC)
Samwilson, can the next one be in Freo please? If I don't have any tests or anything, I'll come along. May I bring my friends along too? --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 05:06, 29 September 2018 (UTC)
Yes, good idea! I'll suggest it. And of course, bring everyone! :-) I want to do some photography and OSM ground-truthing of a couple of Freo buildings; hopefully we'll pick a good weather day. Sam Wilson 05:14, 29 September 2018 (UTC)

Toyotas at the Quay

Will you be going to Toyotas at the Quay ? My son and I are thinking of entering.  Stepho  talk  08:56, 21 October 2018 (UTC)

I recommend it, but I've got exams. I am however attending future car shows soon mate. If I see you there, meet me --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 08:59, 21 October 2018 (UTC)

BMW X5

Hello, just so you know I went through your X5 and as I just found out, the back end of the car and other areas are blurry and the attempt of removing the objects doesn't make it any better so I replaced them again, your image is still being used in appropriate places on this Wikipedia and other Wikipedias (20+ usage), hopefully you understand why I did this, no hard feelings of course. --Vauxford (talk) 17:10, 27 October 2018 (UTC)

Vauxford, I use Aperture Priority when picturing this car, so essentially I may have to adjust my photo skills by taking them again soon !!. If I reverted it back, then it'd be in violation of WP:OWN. I will attempt to do another picture of an X5, but I need to see what mode do you recommend? In Australia, we have really sunny weather so its difficult to obtain a perfect shot if you know what i mean. Could you give me a list of suggestions that i could do wit my camera to improve the photos? --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 02:04, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
EurovisionNim Why are you so determined to try and retake another one? Just leave it as it is. --Vauxford (talk) 12:51, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
Vauxford, please see your talkpage, best --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 12:53, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
Fine mate, I'll leave as is, but you're lucky. In Nedlands people are very stingy not allowing me to picture their cars. Why don't you focus on the cars that you know aren't sold in Australia or you know won't be around Fremantle, cheers --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 13:17, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
Or, you focus more on the cars that are exclusive or far more common in Australian such as the Holden and Ford (Falcon etc), Toyota (Kluger & Fortuner) and Mazda (CX-9 & CX-8) and the majority of Subaru (Impreza, Liberty, XV, Forester, Outback and BRZ). Subarus are sold poorly in the UK. Manufacturers that are most popular over here are things like Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Peugeot etc. --Vauxford (talk) 14:50, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
Vauxford. Sure, in addition, can you do another retake of the Stelvio. I will try finding one in Freo soon but its very scarce. Thanks for the suggestion mate, I'll look for these soon. However, I can take care of all the Japanese cars, whilst you focus on finding the popular ones, cheers --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 14:52, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
The Stelvio I took was when I was on Holiday, it slightly blurry because it was in motion which I think is fine. Mazdas like the Mazda2, Mazda3, Mazda6 are quite common here. Toyota here is also semi-common, except for the ones I mention in brackets which aren't sold in the UK, same goes with the other manufacturers I mention above. --Vauxford (talk) 14:56, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
Vauxford if I get one pictured, I'll discuss it with you. I don't particularly like the harsh shadows, but yours is really nice --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 14:57, 28 October 2018 (UTC)

Mazda MX-5 pic

Hello, I have a favour to ask please. Could you please have a hunt around for photos of the current (ND) generation of the Mazda MX-5/Miata with the roof down? The one on the Mazda MX-5 (ND) page is on a display stand, and ideally I'd like one "in the wild" to give some perspective to the size. It's for the Roadster page. Thanks, 1292simon (talk) 06:07, 28 October 2018 (UTC)

I've got one already – you can add it --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 06:08, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
That would be great thanks. Sorry to trouble you again, but where do I find it? Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 08:28, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
I've inserted it mate. Cheers --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 10:03, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
Excellent. Thanks for your help. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 21:12, 28 October 2018 (UTC)

BMW G01 pict. German wikipedia

Hello EurovisionNim,

I'm a German WP-user. Saw you put in new picts of the car named above.

In the Info-box it' s a little bit unfortunate, because I tried to discuss the topic in the diskussion of German WP. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diskussion:BMW_G01.

The second topic is the rear G01: the pict was used before shows the LED-back light in action. This is not shown in your pict. Second point I'm not happy with, your silver G01 shows special equipment components. And we try not to have too many picts. For this reasons I'll put in the pict. by the fotographer before. I'm not interested in an edit war, so I want to ask you in a case there is a pict in an article to discuss your idea/wish at the discussion-page of the article.

Best regards, --Wikisympathisant (talk) 13:33, 4 November 2018 (UTC)

Guten Tag Wikisympathisant,

Thankyou for your comment mate. I am happy for the replacement. The Australian version of the G01 may bit a little different. – I do not recall that I replaced that image, but I may have signs of early memory loss. I do not speak German, only know a few words, but thats about it. Can you further explain this "extra equipment". This image isn't aftermarket, but I like the white car, so we shall use this. Best, --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 13:37, 4 November 2018 (UTC)

Hello again, thank you very much for your very fast and understanding answer. I think the equipment is something like looking offroad, at the side there is a footboard, rear your silver G01 has a underride guard (hope I found the right wordings), you can see it while comparing with another pict by you.
. Best regards --Wikisympathisant (talk) 13:50, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
Wikisympathisant, Its low quality, but if you want to replace it, go ahead. I'm going to retake one soon, but I will try for a brighter colour --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 13:52, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
I'm surprised of your very fast answers from Australia, as I saw at your page. I need a little bit time to write in English ... Why do you judge your blue one is low quality, I think your blue one is by fotography good quality? Regards from Germany --Wikisympathisant (talk) 13:59, 4 November 2018 (UTC)

Infobox pictures in Giulia

Hi, infobox pictures dont need to be base model pictures, this is stated in WP:automobile conventions, also the picture you added for Giulia article is very dirty unwashed car, if you find any better than that black picure free to change , but there isnt such picture at the moment available. -->Typ932 T·C 12:46, 18 November 2018 (UTC)

Huh? Typ932, what?? I thought you already had the Quadfurgo (whatever its called) in the article, we should at least replace it with something else. Also mate, please help out on the Audi Q7, I believe someone has gone nuts !! --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 12:48, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
If you find good picture this is maybe best https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Alfa_Romeo_Giulia_2.2_JTD_Veloce_(40768625591).jpg -->Typ932 T·C 12:50, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
Thats in the article mate, I think maybe a new one. I'll go hunting for one to replace that --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 12:51, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
I changed some, we need better base model picture... is it good now? -->Typ932 T·C 12:59, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
Typ932, looks decent, but I've changed a bit, before reverting, discuss on talkpage. Also please ask Vauxford for the base model, I live in Nedlands, but my car photo hub is Fremantle so I find it hard to find Alfas. However I can tho get the Stelvio, the Vice Chancellor owns one. I'll grab a pic of one tomorrow --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 13:04, 18 November 2018 (UTC)

Hypocrisy

Just looking through your reverts, it seem to have proven my point about you. Edit summary such as this, this one and this one.

"Also I can't help taking under a tree" "Its seems pointless for me to get the "perfect" shot, stop being picky" "i'm actually getting quite upset. You believe that ALL your images should be used on Wikipedia. Well Einstein, it doesn't work like that."

Well now you know exactly how I feel with your past edits and pretty much complain about the very same things I was talking with you in past talkpages. I knew something was up which is why I intentionally replace pictures with the similar edit summary as you put in the past to see what happened and proven my point. --Vauxford (talk) 10:44, 24 November 2018 (UTC)

Vauxford, do you honestly believe that every single image of yours should be used. I mean, I am slowly giving up picturing vehicles for Wikipedia yet alone you believe that your chances of making sure that you have dominant reign over all the UK vehicles such as BMW X3, Honda Civic & Audi A4 are actually quite the more reason why I am trying my level best to achieve perfect shots. Yet you seem that your edit summary such as "Personally I think it has a nice colour and without a car behind it. Rear end is also less tilted and better angle" on the BMW X3. I'm thinking you and Alexander Migl are trying to replace your images. I don't just randomly replace images with mine, I usually assess the image before updating it. I actually like a lot of your images, you're an excellent photographer, however users should have the right to have a chance to publish their images. Yet alone, I am a bit like Pil56 to be honest. Just because your image is better for very minor reasons it doesn't need to be replaced. I recommend you update WP:CARPIX in order to meet your needs if you believe that the policies are not to your satisfaction. I think that because the X3 image of mine appeared first before you replaced it, it should be left alone. I don't mind the BMW X5 replacement, because I looked back and found that the image was actually blurry so I left it to be. I would like to consider myself as an everyday editor, but I do need time to adjust, because I get nervous before making an edit. What I've done with some/most of your images, I've let you overwrite some of mine. I had no problem replacing my other X3 image because I found out that the angle was really bad and I wasn't going to bother picturing the vehicle anymore. I hope you understand, I do not want to cause any harm to Wikipedia, but I believe that you have made an extremely unnecessary replacement. Silver is actually a very popular colour with a lot of luxury cars and also the colour of the vehicle doesn't actually really influence an image. Some of your edit summaries are vague. Look, I do not unnecessarily make reverts, I usually assess the situation and try to see whether it is necessary to do an edit revert. I wish you all the best for your car photography and I hope we can come to some type of agreement in the near future. Peace out :) --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 11:02, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
I personally disagree with most of what Alexander Migl replace, but the BMW X3 was pretty decent, as I stated in the edit summary, again, this nothing to do with "dominating reign" just because they are based in the UK. Also Pil56 wasn't the mention that, I mentioned that to you before. --Vauxford (talk) 11:09, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
Vauxford, that image wasn't even close to decent. It had overwhelming reflections. Dark colours tend to produce heavy reflections, yet why was there an actual need to replace my high quality X3 images. Generally I do have problems with his photos. I actually prefer photos that are from M 93, you and any other user. Randomly I rarely state my own opinion about my image. If I see one that looks equally as good (non-Australian though), I will replace it. Vauxford, mate please do not feel bad if your images are replaced. I do not want to start a war and cause problems, I like to resolve problems. I really do enjoy a lot of your photos. Maybe for the near future, my recommendation is to look at articles which you deem needs replacing. Generally, I have the exact same problem ok that I'll admit, but I've seen some really impressive image of yours such as Skoda Kodiaq & BMW i8. I've actually now just ignore these cars because I know that these images are the best i've seen and thereby I don't see the need to replace them. Ok, it may look blurry, but I have that problem with myself too !! I want to let you know that if we are looking for the best images possible, there is absolutely no need to replace images of his that are blurry. Whilst I appreciate Migl's attempts to be a good photographer, he should be following an appropriate convention. Such examples include maybe picturing a car from the road, it may seem picky, yes but to ensure that the quality of images being used in the article, it is not recommended to replace an existing higher quality image. Mate, I do not necessarily and randomly replace all the car images with mine. It is equally bad at some stages, but the X3 example was very clean and after you made some comments, i've improved it. I don't see the big deal with the image having to be perfect i.e. 1/10th of the vehicle behind, or car behind, because it does not really have a general impact on the quality of the image. I actually like to try and work harder to produce quality images. In the meantime as I said above, you are a good person, I highly respect you and I believe you should continue on with your work !! I also really like the Suzuki SX4 images, the white colour works really well against my ugly dark blue one, so I was more than happy to keep yours. Please do not think I'm demotivating you, you are an excellent person, probably as nice as me, but I want to work together to achieve the best for everyone. I know Wikipedia is edited by millions of people, but I'm the only one willing to get down and dirty in Australia to achieve the best images possible. Since User:OSX retired i've been trying to carry on his legacy. I don't always use my camera, sometimes I use my iPhone to take car pics, but it still doesn't mean that you should be discouraged. I love your recent contributions and I believe that you should keep what your doing. Do not worry mate, you still are a friend and I will do my best to see what I can do to work to make sure we are no longer engaged in the argument --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 11:24, 24 November 2018 (UTC)

Help me!

I am interested in becoming an OTRS volunteer. I am 19, have used Wikipedia for @ least 4 years, haven't had a past block in the last 2-3 years and currently have user rights. I am interested in becoming a member of the team? Are there any other requirements, and what are the steps needed?

BMW G01 pict. German wikipedia again

Hello EurovisionNim,

few months ago I discussed the topic above and you agreed the white G01 is a good pict. I don't understand you (and Alexander-93, neither) changing the pict. You wrote in comment about a big deal, to whom?? Please let me know. Regards, --Wikisympathisant (talk) 19:03, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

My apologies for the slow response. I actually cannot provide comment. I know I may seem a pain, but I actually prefer Vauxford's image. The reason is being matching and also because he photographed the front and rear view. QI rated images are generally preferred. I've looked a little closer to the white X5, but I will let Vauxford handle this from here... --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 01:58, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
Slow or late response is no problem, we live in different time zones. Different photographers of front and rear view is no problem. The white car at this (sunny) location is ingenious. Where is written, if a pict is QI rated? And another question: what is the reason for changing picts at German wikipedia, you have the English or Australian wp? Please let me know. Thanks in advance. --Wikisympathisant (talk) 17:25, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
I'm going to let Vauxford take care of this. I have no comment --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 01:36, 30 November 2018 (UTC)

Reverts on wiki-it

on wiki-it in the infobox you always put the image of the older version of the car, not the most recent one. thanks --Pil56 (talk) 07:42, 30 November 2018 (UTC)

Gotcha, I've got the latest. I'll replace with that now --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 07:43, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
EurovisionNim, same question as above: why do you take care for picts of Italian Wikipedia or what is the idea or sense behind your activities? Please let us know. Kind regards, --Wikisympathisant (talk) 18:45, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
I'm like every other editor, I publish my images, I do all my activites. Why should that concern you. You aren't an admin, why should you bother about what i do. Have a nice day EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 13:26, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for your answer :-). In my experience not every editor uses wp to publish his picts. This concerns me as I edited something, choosing picts from commons inclusive, I have thought what I do! Especially I tried to understand the sense of changing picts in wp in countries you don't live in. First wp is an encyclopedia, not a tool for publishing own (or Vauxford's) picts. (- in many many cases I can follow the editor's changes ..., is really progress for wp) I would be happy, if you think about this. Regards, --Wikisympathisant (talk) 14:23, 1 December 2018 (UTC)

Wikisympathisant Pil56 The thing is, I already told Pil that I leave Italian Wikipedia up to them and let them do their own things. --Vauxford (talk) 15:28, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
thank you for your information/answer, Vauxford. My aim is not, that you leave a wp, in some cases I used a pict by you, no problem. But my opinion is, that wp is not only for publishing own picts. That's possible at commons. Kind regards, --Wikisympathisant (talk) 15:48, 1 December 2018 (UTC)

Some thoughts

Although imitation is the highest form of flattery but, why recently you trying to get most of your images as QA, keep in mind I don't nominate my image willy nilly and seeing the ones you nominated all of them have a few problems, such as high noise level and tight crop. After all this time why have you just started doing that? Is it because I been doing it so you wanted to do as well. just like how you try do every thing the same as how I do it? Or is there a more cynical reason and you think that getting your own images to QA will give you upper advantage over me due to the recent conflict we had?

Whatever the reason is slowly getting on my nerves. It fine to be inspired by other photographers like I did in the beginning but you're copying every single thing I do. When I started to do side shots, you started to do side shots, when I mention jargon terms like chromatic aberration and any buzzword I used in my edit summary you use what I exactly said as your own. Now you seem to think "Well, if Vauxford nominating his images, I'm gonna do the same thing as him!" Now I don't know what motive you have with this but I'm leaning on the more cynical reason.

To put this way, stop trying to replicating every thing I do, I know you do and I can find evidence to show it, why can't you think for yourself and not just leech onto others, please consider that and for once read every thing I said carefully before replying. --Vauxford (talk) 08:00, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

Actually Vauxford, I do not. Wikipedia + Wikimedia Commons have established a set of policies which I follow. Also in relation to your side view shots, I don't upload them anymore, I see no value in them. However, I'm building my website and then this will have the side views. However, I do not follow your lead, I tend to lean towards User:OSX as thats how he trains me. You always revert everything I do, especially in relation to your images, such as the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Ok, I do admit i copy you, btut seriously what are you trying to achieve, create an edit war? Please note, I do not upload all my images I take. Also I have every right to do that, we are all editors afterwards. I don't actually really care if its on your 'nerves', why should I follow you and others. I'm getting tired of you placing some low quality junk such as the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The noise of the image shouldn't really be such a problem, honestly and also CA does not actually affect the image in anyway. Have a nice day EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 08:08, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
You leech on others for your own gain Nim, I been keeping all this to myself until now because I think it time for you to face the reality of what I'm trying to get to you. If you understood what I said then you would've took your own creative path over this and not just copy and rely on everyone else. For the sake of mine and everyone else's sanity just try and think your own way of things and focus on more appropriate fields, such as buses for example and cars of Australia. The field in cars of Europe is quite saturated with both me and other people from Germany, Sweden etc. This is your opportunity to make new improvements on other sections of Transport. --Vauxford (talk) 08:20, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
Actually Vauxford, you can't stop me. Australian images deserve a chance to be published (regardless of it being sold in Europe). I don't think the market actually really matter to be brutally honest with you. If someone from Africa gets a high quality image of an Alfa Romeo Stelvio, and replaces yours because their image then its the better image. As I spoke to Mr.choppers, based on this discussion, there is actually no need to think that there would be an interest for editors in Australia to focus on "...Australian-plated cars in Wikipedia - presumably due to there being more interest from editors down under..." as stated by Mr.choppers. Techinically YOU are the one picturing Japanese and other cars that are not built in Europe. Whilst I find this really annoying, because they are better than mine, I don't see the need to make an edit revert. Furthermore, I don't really focus on any European car unless I see fit. Why do you think I joined Wikipedia? Not to be annoying, not to be a vandal, however I do believe that you should be focusing on vehicles in your home market such as BMW, Vauxhall, Audi, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari etc. Also you don't tell me how i edit, I don't really care. Wikipedia should be all about producing some of the highest quality images possible. For example, you replaced my image of the blue Suzuki Swift 4th gen but I didn't see the need to replace it, but I let that slide because I know that the image you placed is of higher quality. Also you always state your brutal opinion which is leveraging on annoying, and I'm slowly losing patience. I'm not 'leeching', I've done this method for the past four years I've joined and I will not change my ways. Am I breaking any Wikipedia policies? No. As long as I do not do anything to violate WP policies, there is no need to change my editing styles :) EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 08:34, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
As I stated with a list I gave you of ones aren't in Europe, although logically of what Mr.chopper said, you have to face the likelihood of that happening. Same with the likelihood of me seeing a current-gen Holden or a non-WRX Subaru on the street. It all about approaching it realistically. Again you think just because Mr.chopper agreed on some of your points doesn't mean it completely justified of what your doing is just a burden for everyone. If you are refusing to change your way, then this is gonna continue and trust me, the outcome won't be good for both of us. --Vauxford (talk) 08:46, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
I don't just focus on mine alone. As I told you in some past message why don't you look at WP:CARPIX. The guidelines have been updated by users such as Charles01 (so not just OSX), who give a much more simpler explaination. I don't really understand how I am being a 'burden' for anyone. Wikipedia is edited by millions of people every year and there should be a time when if someone has a better shot, such as the Alfa shot, then let them have it. Also note, just take good pictures. Remember, I do not replace everything. People who are 'burdens' include people who just either commit vandalism, such as IPs or newer users. Users like me with experience and dedication to edit articles have the proper chance to do other things, such as image replacements. To keep things in order, why don't you focus on cars that are sold in large numbers in the UK, such as all European cars. Sometimes, if I have a better angle, such as in your case with the Suzuki Swift or Ford Ranger. If anyone (and I'm not talking about myself) finds a good quality image and i'm satisifed, then it can be replaced. There will be no further comment for now. Have a nice day, also the CARPIX has been revised. Would be nice to revise it again as I follow these guidelines EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 09:09, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
The only "experience and dedication" you have is unable finding your own ground and think for yourself. There being inspired and then there straight attempts to be exactly like someone else which I personally don't think is dedication, it laziness and I see so many people show that behaviour. The CARPIX guideline is a improvement but no offence, Charles01 has a very diverse vocabulary and most of the time I have to read it through several to know the simpler terms for it. I think it should be simplified for the general reader. --Vauxford (talk) 09:48, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
Its still no excuse for doing unnecessary reverts. Wikipedia has one objective, to provide the viewers with a range of high quality images and text. I have a suggestion, why don't you start tweaking texts along with your photos mate. The whole objective that people do with that behaviour is because they're inspired by photographers. Also with buses, I can only focus on Transperth but Squiddyfish is the man for the Transperth buses (I do private charters, so I'm limited, so thats why I do cars). We are facebookers, so if you want to discuss with me private issues, you can friend me on Facebook and we discuss it there rather than wasting our time pondering over the quality of images for everyone to see. Also, its not like I'm going to replace and revert all your images. Some images such as your Mercedes-Benz A-Class that u uploaded is a valuable image. However, I don't see interest in taking these knowing thats in your jurisdiction. I normally focus on any non-European cars as people in Europe tend to go for luxury cars such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW & Audi. Also I don't see its laziness mate. Alright, why don't you edit WP:CARPIX to make it simple and to fit your needs. I don't just blindingly replace all my images, sometimes I feel that another is better quality than yours and I'll replace. I do not just without reason replace your images. For example, you made mention that 'blur in motion is fine' when in fact its not. I don't mind if the background is blurred, but I told you based on this conversation that in order for an image to have motion blur, you need to set it to a higher shutter speed and take the picture from the opposite direction. If someone replaces your image, and you're not happy have a discussion with the person who replaced it. Okay if you had an image which is the best quality, then you should have that. Okay EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 11:42, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

Subaru XV

For the first time I'm honestly perplexed of what your trying to say. You revert the XV image, yet it the exact same car. Why was it needed to be reverted, I added my one because it was a matching colour. --Vauxford (talk) 23:32, 7 December 2018 (UTC)

Vauxford. Subarus are my speciality actually. The XV model is actually a sub model of the basic Subaru Impreza. I had no problems with your photo, however because the actually Impreza itself is the main star because its the more focused one. Also the IP muppets kept ruining the photo. Just leave as is, however if you got an image of the Subaru Impreza hatchback, you are more than welcome to replace these, the two currently in use are of lower quality and are not suitable examples. The Subaru XV is actually an SUV, but the actual Impreza itself comes in a hatchback and sedan. Look, I appreciate your other edits, especially Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, as I agree the front view is horrible 😩😮. If you posted an image of the actual hatchback/sedan model, I wouldn't feel the need to revert it, but because the XV has a different subsection, i had to. Besides you are still doing an amazing job and I hope to see future edits from you --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 23:37, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
So, why can't I use my XV? I still don't get it. --Vauxford (talk) 23:39, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
We do not need any more examples of XVs. We already have enough images mate. Also just leave the article as is. Please do not make any further changes. Don't need extra images, its fine as it is. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 23:42, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
But it a proposed replacement, not an addition. I haven't added anything else. --Vauxford (talk) 23:44, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
Vauxford, the proposed 'replacement' wasn't a good idea. Just leave the images as is. Do you need to replace all my images on Wikipedia? Lets use a variety of authors, rather than just you. Also we don't need further replacing. The XV front view is already present, so we do not need another one from you. Okay --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 23:47, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
Watch this video [2]. This will give a further indepth analysis of the difference. Its a car review, but both of these are totally different. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 23:49, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
It also not a good idea to get cocky, personally the reason why I did the replacement because it was matching colours, it look nice as well with the orange trims. --Vauxford (talk) 23:50, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
Vauxford, do you also have to state your own opinions. I don't think we needed to replace it. I was out that day, so I didn't get a chance to edit, so I didn't notice it. Those IPs need to stop making edits on these articles. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 23:52, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
Since I'm allowed to express my own opinion. I'm gonna do the replacement, do not revert until we reach a consensus with other editors if you wish. --Vauxford (talk) 23:54, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
Actually Vauxford, no thats not what I mean't. You seem to really like to ignite edit wars. No, leave as is. Do not interfere with the images. Did you even watch the video? Leave the image alone. Do you even read WP:BRD. Why are you being such a troublesome editor? The hatchback image is fine, just leave it. Those IPs are vandals and they are causing trouble. Also I can just mass replace all your images where I see fit. Leave it alone please --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 23:55, 7 December 2018 (UTC)

You seem very defensive all of a sudden with this model. I sitll don't get why I'm not allowed, it the same car isn't it? I say it makes it look nicer because of the similar colour. --Vauxford (talk) 23:58, 7 December 2018 (UTC)

No, it isn't both of these cars are different. Geez, know your cars a little more. Car photography is also knowing about the cars not just picturing them. I'm going to get Mr.choppers & Charles01 involved, they should know a little about the difference between the two models --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 00:00, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
But a XV is a XV! Yeah I understand it based off the Impreza but I don't get why mine is different from yours? It a XV isn't it? --Vauxford (talk) 00:02, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
XV & Imprezas have different body styles. The XV is a subcompact model. The car platform is different for these two models. No, the XV shouldn't be used for the infobox, I didn't even see the image, i only saw it and they added an irrelevant infobox. WP:WPAC gives you an indepth reminder of how the articles should be structured :) I don't mind the image at all, but I don't see the need for it to replace the hatchback model in the infobox :) --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 00:06, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
No need to bicker and lecture me, I wasn't planning of putting it in the Infobox. I was planning of putting it in the box where you put "Subaru XV (Australia)" I think this is a big misunderstanding from both of us. It good that you removed the unneeded infoboxes for the XV, I didn't know they were done by some IP user but the only thing I replaced was the infobox that said "Subaru XV". I don't see why your getting so worked up about this? --Vauxford (talk) 00:09, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
Vauxford, hahahaha, what was wrong with my white one? Wasn't that an alright image? Also I am not too sure about the orange highlights, I was going through the Subaru official website and found that the actual car does have black trims, therefore its likely to be aftermarket and we only want vehicles with factory specific conditions. What I'm going to do is message Mr.choppers and we can work out from there which is the better one (do not revert until we've confirmed). Again, i am so sorry about this, but remember you do not want a police livered Vauxhall or a vehicle with aftermarket rims on the website do you? Look, i've told you a million times, if I revert, no need to revert back. I appreciate what you do and we can work together to make the car spotting a better place. Speaking of that, I may invest in some new filters to eliminate reflections. Best --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 04:33, 8 December 2018 (UTC)

Stop reverting images.

Title seems pretty simple.

Going to your message to user Vauxford at 2347UTC, 7th December 2018, you say that "We need to use a variety of authors" on Wikipedia pages. Now, I changed some of your images on the Transperth Wikipedia page, only for you to kick them back out.

Seems just slightly hypocritical of you.

Also, using your 'powers' as such to mass revert images - is it me, or are you using those capabilities so no one can have their (rather nicer images I must say) picture/s on show?

I only reverted images that had advertising on them. also your images were not much of an improvement. please feel free to replace but do not mass replace as none were real improvements. im thinking of giving up. and no this was using Twinkle so its fine —EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 06:16, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
Also I can revert where I see fit. Cheers --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 07:27, 14 December 2018 (UTC)

Ok,I created a acccount. How do I request my old account to move? Benjaminzyg101 (talk) 08:57, 17 December 2018 (UTC) p.s I forgotten to sign

I am going to get Oshwah to handle this. I'm not an admin --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 08:58, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
Hi EurovisionNim! Long time no chat! I hope your holiday season has been going well for you. This user (Benjaminzyg) has been blocked because Checkuser data has matched and confirmed that this user (and hence the IP address and the new account he just made above) is actually Jenulot / MrSunshine83, a user with a long history of abuse on this project. If anyone randomly messages you here from an IP address or a brand new user account asking for an unblock of someone else's account, you're more than welcome to do what you did above: direct them straight to me (or another admin) so that we can investigate. Messages like these from new accounts or IP addresses that are asking about the unblock of other accounts (just like this one) are typically from users who are evading their block and (if it's an account) violating Wikipedia's sock puppetry policy, which is a big no-no. I appreciate you for directing this user to me - thank you for doing that! All handled and taken care of! :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 10:36, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
It has been 1 year since I've last spoke to you buddy !! How are you? Yeah, I've lost my grandfather 2 mondays ago, so its sad, we've had the funeral, but I've stilled continued editing. Thanks Oshwah, my holidays are great, what about yours? --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 10:38, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
This is very new to me, i've never had anyone asked for an unblock request --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 11:03, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
Hi EurovisionNim! I'm sorry to hear about the death of your Grandfather, but I'm also glad to see that you've taken the time to mourn and pay your respects, and that you've moved on and (what seems to me) without too much emotional baggage being dragged behind you. My holiday season has been stressful, honestly... but I'm hoping things will change soon. No worries about not having dealt with requests like this before. It's not normal, and I'd be surprised if you had said the opposite and that you see these often on your user talk page. ;-) Just direct such requests to me (or another admin) like you did earlier; you did exactly the right thing. :-) Cheers, buddy! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 12:56, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

Bickering

It a shame that it has to come to this but Nim, I am considering taking action on WP:ANI about this. Main reason is your behaviour as well as your effort to try and talk, edit, photograph exactly as I do, taking phrases and paragraphs or just simply how I speak and think for your own pleasure and advantage. OSX's impossible guideline when it come to displaying images and to have pass on the habit of shoving CARPIX down everyone throats to you and disrupting many articles, which is why I decided to take matters in my own hands and the only person that seem to have a problem with it is you, I would mention Charles and do I respect him but I find his logic with photographing too inconvenient for his own liking. EDIT 1: Call me paranoid but your request for other users to edit all the automobile article concerns me. Is this your effort of asking someone to do the mass replacing of what I done for you?

I had private discussion with some individuals since I know you like to stalk me wherever I go on Wikipedia and try and sway others, there advise was to take it to ANI. It might resulted in both of us getting some form of consequences but I say it for the better. --Vauxford (talk) 11:40, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

I think I'll probably have to end it there. Why do you get intentions of using just your images. I've done my list, however I need to have a chance to replace my images. Users such as OSX trained me that way and I'm not sure whether I will do it, as I don't know why I'm working hard enough as it is, but I cannot find my way around it. Wikipedia is a site for everyone to do. I can say what I wish in the edit summary provided that in the real world, I do not cause trouble. Yes, you do replacing of my images, but I do complain as I don't really know what to do. I have good standing here, but unfortunately I think the articles that I do are not for no specific benefit. You seem to bully me quite a bit, I try to do my best, I was long here, but I always do my best for this, yet I do my own things. What can I do to make you happy? Start doing my own thing? I can't, Wikipedia is the place for me. I'm getting exhausted as it is replacing car pictures, yet I do not believe I am doing any real harm, except just using my images. Its not like I'm vandalising Wikipedia, not destroying Wikipedia, I'm just doing my own edits. I may copy things, but I'm not actually plagiarising because I'm not and mean NOT trying to ruin everything. I can move on if you wish, but I will continue uploading images to Wikimedia Commons. I'm not the only one, Areaseven kept reverting your image, whereas I've been forced to try and conform to the ways that you have set. OSX and I have been working on together for a while and I've had no chance. I've changed, I've now moving to talkpage discussions. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 11:45, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

Why remove the caption on infoboxes?

Hello, I just wanted to know why do you agree with the IP's summary that the caption on some articles are not needed anymore? I quite noticed it just now. Thanks in Advance! VictorTorres2002 (talk) 01:06, 22 December 2018 (UTC)

No problems, and thanks for talking about it to me. Its much better than edit warring. The reason I do not believe in using subtitles, is because if we look at other articles, such as Audi A1, the images do not have subtitles underneath in the infobox. I have a strict style of consistency, because I do want all the articles to look exactly the same. If you don't agree, mate don't hesistate to revert. Now we discussed it on talk, we can work it out. You followed WP:BRD well. Good job and merry xmas --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 01:36, 22 December 2018 (UTC)

sedan pics

Hi Nim. It's your call, but I think the question about sedan images is best discussed on the article's Talk Page, since it directly relates to the article. I believe the current images are well suited to the article (although I would like to see the Model A pic restored), however the question was directed at you, so I'll wait until you've responded before throwing in my own 2 cents!
I hope you have a Merry Christmas, and all the best for the new year. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 07:49, 22 December 2018 (UTC)

I asked you. If I wasn’t going to but I need to meet the needs of other users not just you, Vauxford, Davey and me. Merry Xmas to you too, and I hope you get presents. Facebook me if you want —EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 08:28, 22 December 2018 (UTC)

and a very Happy and Prosperous New Year,
Thanks for all your help and thanks for all your contributions to the 'pedia,

   –Davey2010 Merry Christmas / Happy New Year 00:26, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
Davey2010. We are going to be in 2019 very soon. Its now time for me to calm down and now take a back seat and let things go with the flow. Thankyou, I appreicate your little present, and I hope you, M 93, Vauxford, Mr.choppers, Charles01 & everyone else on this Wiki has a magnificant Xmas. I am open if anyone has concerns about my editing style. I wish OSX was here, because then I would not be needed and focus on my website, but since some lazy people in Australia refuse to picture cars, I have to do it :) --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 00:29, 24 December 2018 (UTC)

How to report a wikipedia user

There is a wikipedia user by the name of SydneyFC111 who is persistently vandalising the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks wikipedia page. They have made 6-7 edits which are clearly done for malicious purposes. I don't know exactly how to report a user but I am surprised they have not been blocked already.Sully198787 (talk) 09:36, 24 December 2018 (UTC)

Hi Sully (Sully198787) didn't I tell you that you should report the user to WP:ANV. Unfortunately I am not an administrator, but I can enlist someone like Materialscientist to help you. I do not have the ability to block users, but I can get Materialscientist to this page to block User:SydneyFC111. Thankyou for reporting this user, but I do not have power. Note Oshwah is away for a while, but I'll get him to msg me when he is there. Have a good Xmas :) --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 09:41, 24 December 2018 (UTC)

Audi A3

You and Letdorf are the top to editors to this article, which has volumes of text and has virtually no references for that text. Can you please cleanup the article by adding references or deleting text that can't be referenced? --David Tornheim (talk) 22:38, 28 December 2018 (UTC)

Yeah sure mate. However I do not have good writing skills, but I can dedicate it to this. I am here only on a semi-basis, I have a website now, so I am going to dedicate my time to this --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 00:16, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
Not so much worried about the writing skills. The big problem is that so much of the material has no sources. It looks a bit like advertising for Audi. --David Tornheim (talk) 00:43, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
Ok sure, do you have any particular sections you want me to focus on, or rewrite it all. I'll get my dad to help out, because my skills of paraphrasing is crap --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 00:44, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
I would just start from the top. Thanks. Try to make sure every single fact mentioned in the article goes to a reliable source. Keep in mind that we typically use WP:SECONDARY sources that are independent of the subject. Please point your dad to that. Thanks again. --David Tornheim (talk) 00:46, 29 December 2018 (UTC)

Comments

Hi Nim, Please don't post comments such as this - Adding Vauxfords images under a "images to avoid" is bad enough but then to call his images crap is out of line,
You're both photographers but Nim you need to remember you don't own any article here and any editor is free to replace your image whenever and wherever they please,
I appreciate a good chunk of articles contains Vauxfords images but me being me I always strive to have a variety of peoples images not just one editors .... however there aren't that many good images around and Vauxford seems to take the best ones so far (although not all are great and on a few articles I've replaced his images and no I would say all this if he was any nationality)
When it comes down to I'd prefer to have one editors good images instead of different editors images where some are excellent and some are extremely poor!),
You've already gone to every Wikimedia project on the planet and replaced every image with your images (something I have a major major issue with) so it may be worthwhile taking a step back from EN for a bit to just chill and maybe concentrate on those projects (apart from Simple and Commons),
As I said take a step back for a while, Enjoy the festive period and come back when you're more relaxed :),
Thanks and take care, –Davey2010 Merry Christmas / Happy New Year 03:08, 30 December 2018 (UTC)

Its funny Davey. The problem is that Vauxford appears to be replacing tons and tons of images with his own. I've always strived to use WP:CARPIX. The problem is sometimes Vauxford has extremely vague edit summaries which I don't completely understand. Also I'm a WP:WIKIHOLIC so its gonna be hard to step back. If I were to be blocked here, then suddenly I could go out of control. If Australian photographers such as Stepho-wrs & OSX were able to help and stand up and take my place, then I'd gladly leave but because neither of these two are just static and unable to possess a camera, then I have to step up. I'm slowly getting busier and busier and haven't got the time to do it anymore. I want to retire, but suddenly it appears no one wants to take over. Please, Stepho-wrs, just take pictures of the Australian cars for me, I'm getting tired and tired and unable to do this anymore. I don't know how many people get upset, when in fact I'm the one who gets stressed. In fact, I was going to get Stepho-wrs to do them for me. I want to work on my website and then with that I can leave Wikipedia peacefully. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 03:17, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
Hi Nim, This isn't about Australia Vs the World, It's simply about providing the best car images regardless of what country they were taken from,
If you don't want to be blocked then stop edit warring and stop making the silly comments,
Stepho-wrs isn't your lapdog Nim, He has a life as does everyone else and he has different hobbies like everyone else,
Please remember we're the English Encyclopedia which means we're home to the US, the UK, (England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland), Australia, New Zealand etc etc etc .... we're not plainly an Aussie website,
As I said if it's getting a bit much then take a break :), Thanks, –Davey2010 Merry Christmas / Happy New Year 03:28, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
Vauxford's car list he gave me is too much for me. Any chance of me not swearing is good, because I cannot seem to find the time to relax. Even with preferences enabling my chances of leaving Wikipedia are completely slim. My images are awful yes, but theres chances I cannot help myself. I haven't edit warred in a while, and I know thats against WP policies. Edit warring means 3RR, and thats against guidelines. It'd be much easier if I'd left, but its too hard to do so. I've also noted you use swear words, which is completely beyond unacceptable, and its getting to the point where I cannot edit in peace. When I began in 2014, yes, I did have a really dumb camera, but as I progressed along, OSX complemented me over the years, yet I've been thinking why do I need to edit, if hes here. How can someone get 'blocked' for making silly comments? I don't understand. Should I just discontinue editing, and just photograph cars for fun and keep them to myself? I keep retiring and retiring, however its not effective as I need to contribute my non-UK shots. However no one else appears to be doing so for the Australian section. See WP:3RR and thats what edit warring is to me. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 03:45, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
Forgive me for intervening and including you in it Dave, but "I haven't edit warred in a while" isn't exactly true You done much more then 3 reverts on these. From the way you are speaking this sound like a form of obsession rather then a hobby which can bring distress rather then enjoyment to one person. --Vauxford (talk) 04:11, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
Please join in [3] and click on #wikipedia-en. Cheers --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 04:16, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, it all gets frustrating sometimes. I can't take pictures for you. I've got decent equipment but unfortunately I don't have the knack for really good photos. More importantly, I don't have the time. I already spend at least an hour everyday on WP and work and family matters take up the remaining time.
My suggestion is to relax a bit. Concentrate on taking a few quality shots instead of a massive number of mediocre shots. I know you can do it but it takes time and effort. The biggest fault in your images are that you are taking opportunistic pictures of cars on the street. This means no choice in lighting, distracting backgrounds of beautiful Fremantle and often cars in dirty condition. Attend some car shows (Toyota at the Quay was real good last month) and take pictures of cars where you can setup a shot carefully. Chat to the owners and often they can organise a photoshoot on another day in some local park where you get to pick the time of day for good lighting (near sunset is good) and natural background (area 13 at Whiteman Park is great for this with plenty of grass parking area that not many people go to). PS I live next door to Whiteman Park but there are probably other areas that do just as well south of the river. Anyway, aim for quality, not quantity.  Stepho  talk  06:22, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
I live in Nedlands Stepho-wrs (It'd take 30-45minutes to Whiteman Park). Unfortunately, Vauxford does the same thing of picturing cars on the street (rather he has narrow streets, in historical areas, such as Leamington Spa, Whitnash & Warwick, wheres my areas, such as Fremantle, Nedlands, Gosnells etc. aren't historically. If I were to do historic, I'd go to Guildford, but get less of a yield). I usually carefully upload what I think will be used. I don't just randomly picture vehicles and upload them, I usually take a lot of time to picure them. I've talked to my friends on Facebook, and they are willing to give me a tour of their suburbs, such as Floreat, West Leederville & Dalkeith. Normally i do it with friends, and Nedlands, vehicles are all locked up in garages, so Fremantle has the best volume of vehicles, along with the CBD. Also I use two lenses, and its dangerous to do it on the road, in Fremantle cars come charging like bull horns. If I were to do this, I'd have to hire out tons and tons of cars, which'd cost a lot of money. Unfortunately the street is the only option I have, due to the fact the cars are parked there. I'm guessing I should sorta reduce the aperture. My camera is nearly 5 years old, and is wearing out. I would also like to comment some of Vauxford's earlier examples are not the best, but I think they are sufficient. I guess, now its time to make sure that my camera settings are adjusted to focus. I always used f/7.1-f/9 because I assumed it was the best. I'm always open to discussion, so Vauxford is allowed to talk to me on why he reverted my edits. I'm in anytime. Also to add, if Vauxford can give me suggestions, such as different camera settings for me, I can use that , but the 'gain' bit isn't as necessary as other stuff I've seen. This can even help me with my website I'm creating. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 06:35, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
From Nedlands you can get to Kings Park - they have some nice verge parking that is good for photoshoots. Same for the foreshore along Mounts Bay Road. Chat to the owners at car shows. Often they are willing to do a photoshoot for free if they know the pic will be on WP. Opportunistic pics on the street will always be a compromise out of your control.  Stepho  talk  07:03, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
What about suburban areas, such as Cottesloe, Nedlands, Dalkeith etc. I think OSX pictured vehicles that were parked on the verge amongst suburban areas. My friends wanted to go to Fremantle, more often and university for me is there. I don't often do that, its a rare occassion (like a treat), so I don't get the chance to. With a family tragedy, now its a lot harder to find time, as we have to do religious ceremonies. I also don't understand why we needed to get of NRMA's photos that were from Flickr. With those, I didn't even need to worry about picturing and did my own thing and pictured something else. There wasn't any need to do that, but Wikimedia insisted so. I could work on car reviews --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 07:22, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
Vauxford, please see your talkpage. I've made a revert, and I've informed you with enough detail. Do not revert, until we have discussed this :) Cheers --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 10:06, 30 December 2018 (UTC)

Follow up comment

  • Comment: I haven't read all this, but I see what's going on above. As far as I am concerned, we put the best pictures in Wikipedia based on what the WP:CONSENSUS says is the best picture. No, this is not correct: any editor is free to replace your image whenever and wherever they please. We work on WP:CONSENSUS. If the consensus says keep the current image and do not replace it, then the current image stays. WP:BOLD edits are fine, but if they are violating consensus, they will be reverted. If there is disagreement on what picture is best, we have to find consensus. If no new consensus is found, the old picture stays.
So, please do not talk about who is the better photographer and try to let some people have more or fewer images than others. We should always use the best image. If you want to learn to take better pictures, I am all for that too. If you want my opinion on some pics, I am fine to give it, but not too many, please. You can go to dispute resolution for 3rd opinions or even launch an WP:RfC if necessary... --David Tornheim (talk) 04:25, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
Alright thankyou David. OSX also advised me on July 7 2016 "...Be very careful about adding personal photos when quality is lower than other images." From there, I have been using my DSLR for 90% of my photos. I could maybe improve my 2019 shots. Sure, can I email you them? --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 04:27, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
You are welcome. I would rather not receive a bunch of pics in email. If there is a way you can post them anywhere online, that would be better. If more than one editor is telling you the quality is inferior and no one is saying your photos are better... then I wouldn't try too much harder in getting your images on Wikipedia until you can fix the problem with the photos.
I am into photography, and often it is not the resolution that is most important, it has to do with things like angle, colors, lighting, composition, etc. See photography. Good photography is an art form--something you can definitely learn. Some of the best photographers use low tech. cameras. --David Tornheim (talk) 04:36, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
P.S. It doesn't seem like our photography article does a great job of explaining great photography. Here are some other articles on the subject of great photography: [4][5][6]. (I may add some more). --David Tornheim (talk) 04:40, 30 December 2018 (UTC)

Yeah. Those photos could use some work--poor framing. I'm not sure I am up to it with that editor. LOL. I hope yours are better.  :) --David Tornheim (talk) 04:47, 30 December 2018 (UTC)

Stepho-wrs You sure this doesn't sound like a obsession Nim is making? The urge that there MUST be someone photographing cars on Wikipedia, this hobby is more of bringing him distress and discomfort then actually enjoying it. I did mention that I try to balance quality and quantity when it come to uploading them and I don't think there that mediocre. One thing I'm disliking though, is how childish Nim is with these accusatory and slanderous comments. Almost every reply he made to someone that isn't me is things like "Vauxford's car list he gave me is too much for me" "Unfortunately, Vauxford does the same thing of picturing cars on the street" "I have told Vauxford" "A lot of Vauxford's images" like I'm the scapegoat. --Vauxford (talk) 17:41, 30 December 2018 (UTC)

Possibly. Which is why I suggest a slower pace concentrating on quality over quantity. A quality image should win most of these discussions and therefore have less stress involved. I would offer the same advice to any WP photographers.  Stepho  talk  22:05, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
  • I think you all are making this more complicated than need be. Try to ignore the childish, accusatory and slanderous comments, which just reflect poorly on the one making them. Or ask them to be stricken as unproductive. By accusing another editor of making childish, accusatory and slanderous comments towards you, it just continues the cycle of accusations, defensiveness, and recriminations. Instead, just focus on deciding which pics are best. Keep it simple.
If it it's too much work to provide input, you don't have to. Most of us are just volunteers. Maybe try to help new editors to help share the work or request help from other experienced editors. --David Tornheim (talk) 23:38, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
100% – so that means I'm going to improve my images to ram them to QI. I'm purchasing plenty of editing filters and other items to improve --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 00:20, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
I'm not new David, however I am a little inexperienced. So thats why with a bit of help from others, I can be nutured --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 00:25, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
I wasn't referring to you. I mean other editors interested in pics of autos. --David Tornheim (talk) 00:50, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
David Tornheim This is just going to cause more problems. Me and others tried to help Nim with his problematic behaviour but to no anvil and now you giving him a impression that reading a few links about photography going to make any of his mass replacing images justifiable. I was critical of Nim during the Summer and Autumn because of his ego and delusion with his mass replacing as well as his nitpicking CARPIX bogus he got from OSX on perfectly fine images that was there for year, I manged to get across to him that isn't good sport. Now you basically reset that cycle. The thing is, all the things Nim has accused me recently such as doing photographing "for gain" or "for how many from that country" are the very concerns I was expressing to him, it just he cannot think of a decent reason and just simply flip the concerns on me with very little evidences.
Addendum: As I found out, Nim is in yet another edit warring with some user. Isn't this enough to come across my point? --Vauxford (talk) 00:40, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
Edit warring Vauxford is three reverts within 24 hours. Please read WP:3RR :) --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 00:45, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
It still edit warring regardless and even then, reading the time, the 6 reverts you did are all less than 24 hours respectively. --Vauxford (talk) 00:52, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
  • No. Please read WP:EW. WP:3RR is when it is unquestionably actionable. Work on collaboration. If two editors can't achieve agreement ask for third opinion and/or wait for more editors to discuss. In the meantime, leave in the original version before the WP:BOLD change took place--don't keep WP:REVERTing. --David Tornheim (talk) 00:57, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
FWIW, getting action on an edit war where 3RR has not been broken is extremely difficult.[7] It's not how policy is supposed to be applied, and it's definitely not "fair", but it's how Wikipedia works. Editors who repeatedly edit-war but never violate 3RR do not, in my experience, get blocked on ANEW, but warned again and again and again; after the fourth or fifth incident ANI might work, but that's kinda beside the point. Hijiri 88 (やや) 01:44, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
  • I'm not encouraging him to mass replace. If the community wants him to slow down, that's reasonable. Generally, if there is likely to disagreement on a change to an article, proposed changes should be made on the talk page of the article.
If there are objections to mass changes of pictures, they can all be reverted, right? --David Tornheim (talk) 00:52, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
Doesn't work like that Dave --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 01:00, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

Happy new year sir. It’s now time for me to change my behaviour and stop with being obsessed with having my images on display.
