Orphaned non-free image File:Algerian Olympic Committee logo.png[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Algerian Olympic Committee logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hi there I was wondering if you could add the following page Algeria Olympic football team to allow use of the FAF logo. Thanks. Wbel (talk) 21:58, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Move of Al-Arabi SC (Qatar)[edit]

Hi, I noticed you recently moved Al-Arabi SC (Qatar) to Al-Arabi SC (Doha). While such a move is permissible, you should first discuss it on the talk page, because this page has been moved many times. Additionally, you must ask an administrator to help you move it, because the target page already exists - moving pages by copying and pasting the content destroys the history and is unacceptable. Thanks! Dcoetzee 20:21, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Raïna Raï has been proposed for deletion.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Epeefleche (talk) 06:08, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Future events do not belong in results tables[edit]

You are repeatedly making an inappropriate edit at FIFA World Cup. Future events do not belong in results tables, and columns that will remain entry for many years should not be present. Kevin McE (talk) 17:06, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Summary Request[edit]

I have noted that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky or even vandalizing. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s).

Also, why are you removing the French nickname for the Algerian team from all the national team articles ? The team is nicknamed Les Fennecs, Les Verts, etc. please do not remove them. If you have a reason to remove please use the talk page to discuss the change! TonyStarks (talk) 05:38, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but half the press in Algeria is in French and the Algerian team nicknames are known in both Arabic and French, so both of them should be included in the article. We might not be French but the language is very common and it does make sense to completely ignore it.TonyStarks (talk) 22:14, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK I don't understand. My point is that there is no reason why we can't have all 3 (Arabic, English, French) in the article .. we can even add Berber if you know the name. Take care.TonyStarks (talk) 02:39, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

MC Oran[edit]

Can you please explain to me how the likes of Fotso, Ketchemen, Ndouassel are notable MC Oran players? I added a link to the MC Oran players category to include all MCO players and remove non-notable ones! Why would you add them back? Also, the section has a reference to it, those players are not even listed in that link! TonyStarks (talk) 20:33, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You don't get it .. they are NOT notable. Only Binya can be considered as notable, the rest of them barely played for MCO and contributed absolutely nothing. Plus, we never have a "foreign players" section on Wikipedia. Like I already told you, I added a link to the MC Oran players category, all the MC Oran players are listed there, we don't need to put them all on the article! Wydad Casablanca[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Wydad Casablanca a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. GiantSnowman 13:08, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you believe that the article is not located at the proper name, you should use WP:RM - do NOT simply copy & paste! Regards, GiantSnowman 20:35, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Raja Casablanca[edit]

Hello Faycal. After clearing up the Wydad Casablanca issues, I spotted that you did the same thing at Raja Casablanca. Looking at your talk page, it seems that several editors have previously request that you stop moving pages without starting an WP:RM process. Due to the mess you have caused in several places, please be warned that next time you move a football article via a cut and paste move, you will be blocked. Cheers, Number 57 14:20, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Faycal. I don't really want to block you, but the cut and paste moves are problematic and there have been complaints about it before. But anyway, if you use the WP:RM system next time, there will be no problems. If you want to make a page move that is not controversial but you cannot, you can ask an administrator (like me) to do it for you. Cheers, Number 57 21:30, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Faycal.09, I'm posting this message on your talk page because I noticed that you've recently created the new article Badminton at the 2003 All-Africa Games--However, I noticed there are some holes that may need filling: the article does not contain in-line citations, and so doesn't follow Wikipedia style guidelines. Have a good day! Jipinghe (talk) 18:43, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Algeria national team stats[edit]

Hello. This is just to let you knwo that national team stats for official matches only, matches against clubs do not count and should not be included in the player infoboxes. I've noticed that for all the MCO players you've been adding their caps against clubs, that is not right so please stop doing it. Thank you. TonyStarks (talk) 06:18, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Football at the All-Africa Games[edit]

Sorry, your format is not "universally" use as format of association football coverage in Wikipedia, so i dump it and revert to old style. That is no consensus about your changes. --Aleenf1 00:42, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I revert for second time, you failed to apply the MOS, which include WP:ICON, WP:FONT and no consensus. --Aleenf1 12:02, 14 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stick what might apply to MOS and what it state

  • In MOS:FLAG, "words as the primary means of communication should be given greater precedent over flags"
  • In WP:FONTSIZE, "Editors should avoid manually inserting large and small fonts into prose."
  • In WP:DASH, it is state that score shall not spacing in between dash line.

Did you read the MOS? Refer to other article sometime not warrant that you might right in MOS! --Aleenf1 16:04, 14 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article stay fine as long as you interfere with something that NOT APPLY TO MOS and claimed people destroy your page, sorry i have to say that is the "bogus" reason. Furthermore, you failed to reach a consensus and just keep rolling back, that is harsh. --Aleenf1 01:54, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You know what is MOS? You failed to address what it is and keep revert, this warning should go for you because your change is so what is not a consensus and i working for MOS, not friendship! Using the unnecessary infobox and added something that ONLY done in 4 years, more importantly you said people done mistake, what mistake? You said you are right? How? I have explain to you DON'T refer fully to other article because sometime not apply to MOS and you just ignoring it. If you can't explain what are the mistake and failed to apply MOS, i will REVERT again. --Aleenf1 08:35, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I will revert the summaries and unnecessary infobox but keep the current medal table. Thats all. --Aleenf1 09:03, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think the 1969 information should stay, and 2015 shall not exists at this point, still far away. --Aleenf1 11:29, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cut and paste moves[edit]

Please do not make "cut and paste moves" as you did with African Youth Championship. If you want to move an article, you MUST use the move button at the top of the page. If this does not work, then you must use the WP:RM approach. Cutting and pasting leads to pages losing their history and have to be reversed by an administrator (as I have done with this instance). Thanks, Number 57 10:38, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I note this is not the first time you have been warned about this. Please consider this your final warning. If you make any more cut and paste moves, you will be blocked. Number 57 10:39, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Eldumpo did not move the page using cut and paste moves - he moved it using the move tab. You were the one that did the cut and paste move. You also did not use the WP:RM process - you merely put a note on the talk page, not a proper move request. I'm sorry if you think this is harsh, but this is not the first time you have been involved in making cut and paste move. Your Wikipedia contributions are appreciated, but this is not. Number 57 16:11, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Faycal. I note the discussion here and at 57's talk page, and it seems matters have now been sorted and you realise you should not have made the cut and paste move. In hindsight, perhaps I should have opened a talk page discussion with you first, and I apologise for not doing that.
Regarding the matter in hand of the name of the competition, on English Wikipedia we use the principle of WP:COMMONNAME and not necessarily the official name of the tournament. At present the two references at the article refer to AYC, and thus there is no justification to move the article. It may be in time that the competition is referred to as "U-20" in a majority of English-language sources, and if and when that happens, it may well be appropriate to rename the article. The 2011 AYC article has more references, and they almost exclusively refer to the tournament as AYC. It may be that this will not be the case for future tournaments, time will tell. I would therefore suggest that it is not worth trying to open a formal RM at this stage, but to generally concentrate on improving the article(s). If, in the course of that, English-language sources are found which refer to U 20 then it could be appropriate to consider an article move. Hopefully we can work towards improving the articles. Regards. Eldumpo (talk) 19:57, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the message. I think the key point is to work towards improving the article and naturally see what the sources say rather than setting out with the aim of proving that the article should move to the 'new name'. As for the RM that is now showing for 26 Nov, it's up to you if you want to continue with it (I'm not sure how you go about cancelling it, if that's what you want to do) and how you want to !vote. At present it seems to me there is no justification for calling it 'u-20'. Eldumpo (talk) 20:38, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough re RM, the process is now under way. But why did you say in your last message that for you the new name is right - bear in mind Common name. Anyway lets both look to add more cites to the article - much of it is currently uncited. Eldumpo (talk) 20:59, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

2011 AYC[edit]

I'm not keen on the last edit you made to this article. Why change the text to 'u-20' before adding the sources to back it up. Seven of the 8 cites refer to AYC. You still seem to have decided that the competition needs a name change, without considering what the English-language sources are saying.Eldumpo (talk) 22:48, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seven of the 8 cited refs at 2011 AYC (all English language) refer to it as AYC. I see no reason to change to u20. You still seem to be going out of your way to change the article name, rather than concentrating on general improvement. The main AYC article needs a lot more cites - much of the text is uncited, and really should be sourced or deleted. Eldumpo (talk) 23:25, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I changed some of the text back to AYC as that is what the cites are showing. Given the 2011 tment has now finished it is unIkely that a load of new sources are going to appear referring to u20 instead, although it may well end up that the 2013 tment will be referred to as u20. Have you got a cite for the fair play team and the best goalkeeper. Regards. Eldumpo (talk) 09:27, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I couldn't see any reference to a fair play award or the best goalkeeper on the pdf link you sent me. Can you clarify where this information is? Thanks. Eldumpo (talk) 15:30, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
