Disambiguation link notification

Hi. When you recently edited Bole2Harlem, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Kora and Amazon (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Enjoyed your Signpost interview

Just wanted to let you know I very much enjoyed reading your Wikipedia Signpost interview. Thanks for contributing to the project! Sumanah (talk) 14:03, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

West Puntland state

Nothing in the news media to back the existence of this, so I'm guessing it's just a promotional attempt. I've redirected it to Puntland and will take it to AfD if it's restored (unless someone can of course give it enough sources to make it look real). Dougweller (talk) 06:53, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

Need Blocking of IP Addresses

Could you block these IP addresses: 41.189.229.10, 88.83.47.209, and 88.83.47.209. They constantly vandalize the Ahmed Nuh page and you saw that this week when you removed their edits. I watch this page and need help. Thanks --Omeroday —Preceding undated comment added 01:17, 26 January 2012 (UTC).

Sheekhaal article

Hi Gyrofrog thanks for your comment, for the vandalism thing about this article was done by mistake it was not my intention to do it, i clicked it by mistake, for the population thing you reinstated another unverified number, since the source in question is very old i might as well delete the population section as you have suggested. coming to my original intention i wanted to remove the following unsource and unneutral statement, by user Wikileaky87 which seems to violate wikipeida neutrality policy which is "representing fairly, proportionately, and as far as possible without bias" thus, my intention is to improve and contribute Wikipedia not to destroy and vandalize its contents, thus, being administrator does not mean to threathen others users with blocking its to encourage to contribute and to guide them

"The Sheekhaal have recently engaged in conflicts with the much larger Ogaden tribe in the Somali Region of Ethiopia over Land and Resources,The Sheekhaal being the aggressors initially and loosing over 1,000 men in a weeks long battle they are mainly centered in a small village called rasso" maxman 22:02, 28 January 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maxman (talkcontribs)

One more thing you said "The cited source says "1.5-2 Million". Either leave the figure alone, or cite a source for your figures" well, i am not the who change figure to 160, 000 its another user, i just reverted it back, and since you suggested that it should be deleted altogether, i just did, if you have any concerns please let me know.maxman 22:28, 28 January 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maxman (talkcontribs)

Raaso

Hello, Gyrofrog is it not ok to remove the tag on this article as the name "Raaso" is shown on google Map?--maxman 15:32, 29 January 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maxman (talkcontribs)

MSU Interview

Dear Gyrofrog,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, were it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

  • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
  • All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
  • All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
  • The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name HERE instead.

If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.

Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) 01:12, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Just sayin'

It's not much, but it wouldn't exist - at least not yet - without you. :) It's been so long since I've written an album article that I hardly remember how! --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:29, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article List of Crown albums in The Penguin Guide to Jazz is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Crown albums in The Penguin Guide to Jazz until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Harti (Darod0

Hi there, please do not erase the contributions of this page. The names of the 3 Majeerteen clans do not have a reference either but they are not deleted regardless. Either erase every unreferenced statement, or don't edit at all. Thank you very much.

Isaaq

Hi. I noticed your complaint and undid the typo version of the Isaaq article. I'd appreciate it if you could do the same once with Agnieszka Radwańska, if you happen to notice the typo version of that one being restored. Unlike you guys, I don't have much help when it comes to that issue. If not, no big deal. Hopefully these matters will be resolved soon. -- James26 (talk) 23:09, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

LaMont Johnson

Hi Gyrofrog, I knew LaMont in the 60s and have a lot of information I could add to the article, most of it gathered from a few websites in the last 10 years. I noticed that you were the main contributor. Wanted to get in touch before plunging in with edits. This is completely new to me--editing Wikipedia. So I want to pave the way for a possible big intrusion!! Hope I am on the right page here trying to talk with you Nancinova (talk) 15:36, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
