As I see you have also been active in warning thised. about his absurd speedy deletions, I think i should mention to you that I have banned him for 7 days from placing speedys except for copyvio and vandalism, and have warned him he will be blocked if he continues. I mention it because he has been removing the notices about his improper deletions--as well as my warning-- from his user talk page. I'd appreciate if you could keep an eye on it also. Repeating Yesterday

Thanks for removing Repeating Yesterday. Is it possible to protect this against recreation? The author himself (possibly a sockpuppet) stated that he had recreated it after seeing it removed before. I can't find the evidence for that, but I have been involved in earlier versions of this article. I am not sure, but I think this is the third version. They all had the same issues: excessive dab-linking (the reason why I got involved) and cover art without proper licence/copyvio. Night of the Big Wind talk 13:41, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Thanks. It's damp and cold and I should be up a ladder woodstaining window frames... Thanks for both the bunny and the barnstar (and comments...). No, I don't speak all those languages, but I can speak passable French (and read it well) and I read some of the others. Some, like Marathi, I only add wiki-links to. I can find my way around enough to do that. I have managed to get an article deleted speedily on fr-wiki, and discuss sockpuppets and possible frauds on de-wiki. All good fun. I enjoy languages, and sometimes wonder if the purpose of the human race is really to be lab rats for testing language variants - grammar rules are so unlikely in a lot of cases, it's almost as if a class of students had been given their own group to set up rules for. A bit like Sims on a rather large scale. There's a basis for a story there... (I used to get into trouble in French, German and Latin lessons because I translated straight into fluent English, not going word by word as the teachers wanted. I just couldn't see the point.) Essel World

Hi there,

You deleted the article Essel World for Blatant Advertising. Essel World is an amusement park in Mumbai. There are a few independant sources which I had added but it was removed. I created the article long time ago but others users would come along and add information which made it look like advertising. I would like the article moved to my user space. Resubmitting an Article

Hi Peridon, I'm trying to resubmit an article titled as CustomerXPs, which was deleted earlier for using advertising language. Now the article is re-written completely referring to wiki's content policies and neutral point of view. Each point is cited and referred to relevant and reliable media sources. CopyRight

I've removed some definite copyvio and moved it to User:Arwel ap Dewi ap Siôn/Shaping the Future Project. You can't use any text direct from an outside site unless it is licensed under Creative Commons or is in the public domain. This was from a page that said c 2012 at the bottom. No way, José; sorry, no way, Arwel son of David son of John. I've removed the bits I saw were copy and paste, and am leaving it to you to remove any others. I don't advise getting the original licensed as it fails WP:NPOV - 'unique' is a killer, for example, unless you are taking about something like the Tuatara. The reference you gave doesn't seem to mention this project on the page you link - you have to be precise; please see WP:RS for what is and isn't a reliable independent source and there must be at least something more than a mention in any ref. I would advise making similar changes at cy:Prosiect Llunio'r Dyfodol, although the rules may be different there regarding NPOV. The rules regarding copyvio (WP:COPYVIO) won't be. Copyright is copyright (except perhaps in North Korea...). When you've got the article into shape, ask for an opinion. I'm always willing (time permitting) to give an opinion (not always reliable - get another too...), or put {{helpme}} and an appeal on your talk page with a link to the article (or put it on the talk page of the draft and remember to keep an eye on it). BTW The camel case title here is a reference to your copy-wright, which if it existed (and it ought to...) would be an employee for the purpose of hand copying (or nowadays typing out) someone else's work. (I'm going to work that one into a somewhat medieval-ish project I've got in hand...) PS Don't be afraid to ask me questions I can't answer. I know people who will be able to... He wrote a reply to you on his talk page saying "All this information is in the public domain", by which I guess he means publicly visible; I wrote a further explanation of PD and copyright for him, and some more advice, but while I was doing that he copied your message back here and blanked it and his reply from his talk page. Hi, some help on NPP please

Just started to take a look in at new pages patrolling, saw that you just zapped a page I went to visit out of curiosity, created by the user about the user, I have two questions:
one, what is going on here? Porky's Five and Ten, something's fishy as there is a maintenance tag from 2010 but hte article was just created, but I can't seem to find any deletion of the same article beforehand
two, how does one indicate that a page has been patrolled? I'm new to all this so seeing as you're on patrol, I thought I'd ask. CaptainScreebo Parley! 20:05, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Nicely spotted. It looks like a re-creation (complete with dated tag!) of a previously deleted article, or a copy and paste of something currently existing. Got it - Little Beau Porky is the base on which the Five and Ten article has been built. Looks like it is a genuine film (at a very quick glance). I'm off to bed, so I'd suggest checking that out, and changing the date in the tag (which came with the base used). How'd I do it? Took an interesting sentence and Googled it in quotes with 'Wikipedia' outside the quotes - it came up with the first version in the history. It's a good way of checking suspect articles too - people often copy an article about a footballer, say, and change the name (presumably to their own, a close friend, or a kid for their birthday). Doing that counts as hoax, so tag it as such and leave a note on the talk page to say why. Porky here is just someone doing what I often advise amateur producers of newsletters and club/group magazines to do - use a ready-formatted previous issue as a base to save time. As to indicating something has been patrolled, I haven't a clue. Never done it. I've often found that things someone has already looked at may still be up the creek on closer inspection. For an example, if I marked an article about a footballer as patrolled, that wouldn't be worth tuppence (if I even knew how...). Keep up the good work, and don't be afraid to drop by for more tips that aren't in the book of rules (or at least, I haven't found them there...). ;-) Peridon (talk) 20:33, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

The article was about him and the recordings were an attempt show notablity. A7 was fine - RHaworth obviously agreed (twice today) and Mike Rosoft deleted it yesterday too.. I'd have used db-band, but person works as well. The recordings were all digital download - not a great thing for significance, just as going to Lulu doesn't do much for a book's significance. There are few really famous YouTube people outside their own imaginations. Just found it under another name. Deleted it without tagging, which is something we rarely do. I see you've made a new friend. All the deleted material has been posted up on the user page as a wiki-article so I added a {{userpage}} tag, there is also an attempt at a petition to save the above article or get it re-instated, but the user has now been blocked for a week (I guess for the page blanking here and so on). What do you make of all this, is it okay to keep an article that's been deleted on your user page totally formatted like in article space? Shouldn't it be on a draft page? And if it was deleted for non-notability? I'm checking some of the other stuff xe's created/added too, I think there's some borderline stuff. Cheers! CaptainScreebo Parley! 16:14, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
That's not stuff I deleted. The author is currently on a week's block (by RHaworth) for personal attacks. The whole lot could probably do to be looked at - I haven't got round to it yet. Draft articles really should be on subpages, but userpage is often used, and RH moved some of it there from the talk page. Stuff that's been deleted isn't always removable from userspace (except copyvio, spam and attack, of course). Non-notable stuff is quite often userfied (a strange wikiword) for improvement. This appears to be about himself. I'm not too worried about it, and I think your tag will do for now. He could make a good editor if he can be directed onto somewhat more notable subjects than those I've seen so far. Those might be all he's interested in, however. We'll see. copyvio issue

Your edit summary states: Not copyvio - source is licensed under Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA. However, the NC is a problem. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright and note it is in the list of licenses not compatible.

However, I think the article has been sufficiently rewritten, and in particular, the copied material is now used as a quote, with a reference, and is sufficiently short, I don't view this as a copyvio. It may well have other issues, but I'll leave those to others.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 11:54, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

Since our “speedy deletion”, we have revised our initial article draft, keeping a neutral and objective stance, and removing any content that could be construed as marketing. Sorry, it's the ScottMadden bit that's the problem, namewise. That must not be in the name - see WP:USERNAME. As to competitors, the existence of any article does not entitle anything else to have an article WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. This isn't a directory, it's an encyclopaedia. On somewhere like AboutUs, you might be able to claim that because BloggsCo had a profile, you should - but you wouldn't need to as they are open for anyone. Here, we have a nasty habit of insisting on notability - please see WP:CORP for corporate notability and WP:RS for the reliable independent sources need to prove it. Your competitors might have notability shown - they might have escaped notice like that sandbox did. If they don't, please feel free to tag them (but be sure of the policies first...). As to the references you put in that sandbox draft, articles BY the company don't count for notability. It's articles ABOUT the company by someone outside we want. Not things containing stuff like "'Blah di blah di rhubarb,' says Fred Bloggs, the CEO of BloggsCo, our company of the hour." Press releases are out, as are blogs, forums, PRWire, wikis, AboutUs, LinkedIn and the usual suspects like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Finally, you are really supposed to post unblock requests on your talkpage, unless that's been revoked - no, just looked and you can edit your talkpage (sometimes people get to be a total nuisance and have to be stopped). Admins don't unblock from requests on their talkpages (not commonly, anyway, unless there's been a real mistake made). You will need to use the spamun template and avoid both Scott and Madden in the new name. Be prepared for some conditions - editing about your own company is not really advised and do realise that the article may be edited by anyone. I say this remembering a chap who had a vanity article posted. We were discussing deleting it (and he was fighting tooth and nail), when all of a sudden, someone posted some very interesting stuff - and referenced it very well. We all decided to keep it then, but the subject started fighting tooth and nail to get it deleted... He failed. Even though you write an article, you don't own it (see WP:OWN), and you cannot control other editors - so long as they are giving proper referencing. It may not be a horror, but it's not good. Wanna take a look? It's right up your alley. I was going to nominate it for deletion, but don't really know how to or have the time. Seen you around here and there, so I wasn't worrying... Numismatics up my street? I've sold a heck of a lot more stamps than coins... I've just, through this, discovered what I consider a beautiful American coin, the Sacagawea dollar (most are cluttered or banal or difficult to my mind - I don't like the reverse of our current UK coins either, and the letter I sent to the Mint was not really repeatable here). I agree with the admin that blocked the author - this seems to me to pass WP:DUCK. (Or do I mean fail? Whatever, I hear something quacking.) They don't seem to have appealed, which confirms my suspicions. Compared with Coins of the United States dollar, this article is untidy, but contains info not there. If you like, I'll put it at AfD and hope for someone to volunteer to merge or rewrite. Not really what AfD is for, but I've not come up yet with an idea for doing what I often want - pressuring volunteers to improve things. Using AfD is possibly cruelty to the anti-deletionists. but it works... I'd think that separating paper and coin would be a good idea. Let me know what you think. PS - How do you all manage over there with all that sort of grey-green paper money? Ours is colour and size coded (although our £20s look as if the colour has run in the wash... You're a dear old bear. You are right, the Sacagawea dollar is beautiful. It's considered a flop, though--nobody used it. We aren't used to dollar coins; guess we're stuck on a wrinkled green George W.! Or maybe we're used to silver-colored coins. Or maybe we're still racist and chauvinist?? The Eisenhower dollar was well received, I believe, but didn't circulate much; it was/is hoarded. I've never been given either in change. (But I nearly always pay with plastic!) A number of years ago our notes from $5 and up started turning pastel to thwart counterfeiters. (Do they really counterfeit 5s and 10s?? Or do some engravers just need a job?) They looked funny, but I'm getting used to them. OK, that proves it--I have folding dollars, but not clinking ones. Also, I worked a cash register for several summers and never got metal dollars. MSU Research Questions

What were the tools you mainly used prior to becoming an admin, and after becoming an admin? Very easy answer to that one - before becoming an admin, I used no tools. None. Some RfAs have comments about excess of automated editing - mine had a comment about zero use of tools. Since becoming an admin, I've used Twinkle as it saves time, but still do quite a lot manually, including personally oriented messages on userpages instead of bland templates all the time. Twinkle is useful to me for routine stuff that is otherwise time-consuming, like starting an AfD. It's a tool that doesn't have a built-in judgement factor of its own. I distrust machine judgements unless there is an easy override. (And I detest those phone call sorters that never have an option for the problem I an ringing about.) OK. Next question? deleted page TRIAD-CHESS

OK. I've moved it from that talkpage to User:GiViT 13/DRAFT to avoid it being deleted again - talkpages without a parent article get deleted. Why was it deleted? Not because of the rather non-English English - I could sort that out, especially if given a copy of the original French. One trouble is that it reads like an advertisement. Words like 'amazing' and 'optimised' are regarded as being promotional, and that's just two examples. You should read WP:NPOV - our policy on how to write properly for an encyclopaedia (neutral point of view). Another problem is that you do not give any references to shoe notability. You should read WP:RS about reliable independent sources. Places that are connected to the game in any way or which are selling it, or are blogs, forums, wikis, or various other things considered unreliable, are no use for showing notability. I find that the English language Wikipedia is stricter on references than are some of the other languages. I've been to several, looking for references for something, and not found any references for the subject I was looking up. I would advise reading WP:SPAM - our policy on advertising and promotion - even if you were not intending to advertise this game. The game actually looks interesting - I once thought of building a four way set. but as I'm not a very good chess player and don't know anyone near me who plays anyway, I didn't. I've deleted the one with DRAFT in it. No need for both. I've put the DRAFT heading in. I'm not very happy about the edit summary for the creation of that page - "New sujet on the world of chess : New game / Information : This texte and pictures are my creation, please no delect my page of presentation TRIAD-CHESS game. Thank you very much". This suggests to me that there is an intent to promote the game, and if it is new, there's possibly not much coverage yet. We'll see. Peridon (talk) 17:58, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

It also removed the little line mentioning my game parmie all three versions of chess players. Why? I do not know ... perhaps taken for the promotion, but then there was only asking me to withdraw from the market so I can mention it on the wiki.

Hello there, I see that the world Ballet Competition page was deleted. Could I please have access to it and edit it to make sure that it meets guidelines? There are other numerous other competitions listed and it is shame that one of the most prestigious ones out there is not. Please let me know if it is accessible and where I can edit the content, then resubmit it for approval.

The article was deleted as it was a copy violation of this website. The article was also deleted as unambiguous advertising. If you wish to start the article again, please see Wikipedia:Your first article and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. SwisterTwister talk 07:13, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

I'll just add to that, to say that the link to Our Mission doesn't seem to be working. Even though the text seems to have gone form the source site, it WAS there, and so is still copyright, and while text from outside Wikipedia can be licensed for use here, in this case, there would be no point because of the wording which was distinctly promotional (as is the text on most 'official' websites - that's what they are for). The existence of other articles doesn't give a right to have one too - please see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. To be sure of survival, an article has to show notability - please see WP:GNG as there isn't a specific standard for ballet competitions - and this has to be referenced in reliable independent sources - see WP:RS. Your own site isn't considered reliable (nor would mine be if I were under discussion), nor are blogs, forums or wikis. If you can find the references (no point without them), you could do a new draft at User:Fpetrutiu/DRAFT with NO text that was (or is) on the website, and after you've read WP:NPOV (neutral point of view). World Ballet Competition

Hello there,

Sorry that my first attempt did not meet the requirement of Wiki. Could I please have access to the deleted article to revise it and resubmit it for approval? There are many more ballet competitions listed on wiki and it is a shame that there is no mention of one of the most prestigious one. Anyways, there was no poyright infrigement as I do have the rights to the content, but I will revise it anyways.

You don't know our policy and the reason for it. You own the copyright of some text - OK. You post it on Facebook - OK. You post it on MySpace - OK. You post it here - it gets deleted. Why? Because there is no legitimate copying on from those other sites. Here, everything is licensed under Creative Commons CC-BY-SA for re-use by anyone anywhere. Even on commercial sites, anything from here can be used. Technically, there has to be an acknowledgement of the source being Wikipedia - some don't do this, but they should. Your text is copyright and it cannot be put on here unless you release the copyright under Creative Commons. It couldn't exist here anyway, as it was far too promotional. I would advise doing what I suggested above - rewriting totally in your userspace. Just click that red link to start the draft. If it's your text, you must have a copy of it even though it's not accessible to me at the WBC website. Probably best to do it from the beginning - 'missions' aren't really encyclopaedic. We prefer facts and good references. By the way, when posting on a talkpage please put four ~ things at the end - this will put your username and the datestamp on - like this: Peridon (talk) 17:32, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

I dunno what exactly is happening here, but it seems Aone Beats is not happy with his article and posted a different version on his userpage: User:AONE BEATS. Maybe it's meant to be for temporary testing or something, but I doubt it. I guess I could ask him but he doesn't seem very communicative. I can't see him being particularly notable anyway - there's a few tags on the original article (never mind him having a tag in his music...). You were right to doubt- but I agree with A7. Ruby had only the claim of one TV show and a forthcoming 'debut'. An artificial group, as many seem to be in Korea, and probably being promoted skilfully. Bromley played (or did something unspecified) with a blue linked band in their live performances, but have did nine others (all unlinked - as are two of the current line-up). Nothing else of significance. I've speedied Ruby on RHaworth's tag, and reverted your reversion on Bromley. Peridon (talk) 10:00, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
