User Boxes

Not to be rude or anyhting but I too would like to know why so many userboxes have been moved under your namesake. It causes a lot of trouble and work for anyone who already has them on their userpage.Rearete 00:52, 24 December 2006 (UTC) May I point out that you choose to migrate the userboxes?Yashtulsyan 01:49, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

You can read about it at WP:UM. Basically, the management decreed that user boxes didn't belong in the main template namespace. Those that are no longer even allowed there include all opinion boxes. That is in keeping with policies like WP:BLP. I have adopted several myself. Those are listed at User:Will Pittenger/User Boxes. Will (Talk - contribs) 02:58, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Greetings--welcome to the project. The best way to learn Wiki markup is to look at pages that have the markup you want to learn and look at them in the edit window. You might want to copy stuff to a sandbox page (make a subpage off of your user page, such as User:Rearete/Sandbox, and edit there). My user page was designed by User:Phaedriel who takes such requests. You can also find a lot of info in the help section. Have fun! Antandrus (talk) 19:57, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 04:14, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

BLP violation

Hi,

You just inserted material calling a living person a "murderer" without any sources. I suggest you read WP:BLP, as wikipedia has particularly low-tolerance for such edits.Bless sins (talk) 04:15, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 00:06, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Adopt-A-User

Hello, Rearete! I see that you have expressed an interest in being adopted by an experienced editor. I accept your request, being an experienced editor myself. Whether you want to learn about wiki markup, find something to do, or just talk to somebody, I'm the one you can talk to - just leave a message on my talk page. Good luck with Wikipedia! STORMTRACKER 94 23:09, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism

Excuse me? What vandalism are you referring to? I haven't vandalized anything. Ryan Albrey (talk) 03:31, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Reverted edits on Darren McFadden

You reverted my edits to possible vandalism created by 24.127.156.201 (talk) and 4 edits by Heismanwinner5 (talk). Not to be rude but the edits by 24.127.156.201 and Heismanwinner5 are false and therefore removed. If you find any sources revealing McFadden and Brennan playing flag football in high school, please correct me. Reorion (talk) 03:41, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Adoption

Sounds great. If you have any questions, you can just ask me anytime. STORMTRACKER 94 20:16, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Questions

Here ar the answers to your questions:

1. For the committed identity, you should check out what to do at Template: Committed identity. That will give you instructions on how to get one.

2. For the A-bomb animation, just place this at the top of your page:

<span style="background:#ffffff;position:absolute;top:-45px; left:-165px;z-index:-3">[[Image:Bomba atomowa.gif|164px]]</span>

Your VandalProof Application

Dear Rearete,

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof! Unfortunately, your application has been declined because it seems that you don't have at least 250 mainspace edits. When you fulfill this requirement, feel free to re-apply.

Just Checking In

Just checking in on you, seems like you're doing a great job. Keep up the good work! STORMTRACKER 94 01:29, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Just a heads up

I replaced your light warning on User talk:71.88.39.148 with a block notice. The IP has only made two edits, both of them being to completely the blank the page; there's no need to assume good faith in such a blatant case of vandalism, so I went ahead and jumped the gun on the usual warning progression. :)

Just dropping you a note so you don't wonder why I superseded your warning. EVula // talk // // 22:34, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

No problem lol I prefer to see vandels banned anyway and I don't generally care for shared ip addresses they seem to cause alot of trouble.

Re: An Award

Thanks for the barnstar, much appreciated. DiverseMentality (talk) 03:16, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you!

You made my evening.--Kubigula (talk) 04:29, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Admin = Sysop

On most Wikimedia projects the terms sysop and administrator are used interchangeably, so I'm both (but I certainly don't really operate any systems). In real-life terms the true system operators for the actual Wikimedia systems are the developers [2]. Hope this clears things up. Acroterion (talk) 03:42, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Yea that clears things up lol I feel stupid now I knew that at one point but I'd apparently forgotten that they were the same instead i though sysop was the level ahead. But anyway thanks for clearing it up.Rearete (talk) 03:46, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
I've always thought it was misleading, but I suppose it's really a holdover from the early days when everybody helped run things. Acroterion (talk) 03:49, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
