File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Christer Kleiven 3927 X46192.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Christer Kleiven 3927 X46192.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 11:03, 12 April 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 11:03, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Tuelo.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Tuelo.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. feydey (talk) 10:15, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Benik Afobe has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:03, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deprodded, please help expand this biography using reliable sources. Fences&Windows 16:04, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've speedy deleted it as a copy of his Arsenal profile. DO NOT copy such content directly into Wikipedia! Fences&Windows 16:51, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Emmanuel Frimpong requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:12, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "Julians Astafjevs"[edit]

A page you created, Julians Astafjevs, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for biographies in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. DARTH SIDIOUS 2 (Contact) 08:58, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Roarie Deacon has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Young footballer who has not yet played in a fully professional competition, so fails WP:NSPORT; not enough coverage to pass general notability guideline

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Struway2 (talk) 10:23, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just to mention that I removed the text which you'd copied from Mr Deacon's profile at the Arsenal F.C. website. We aren't allowed to copy text or images from copyright sources. Please don't do it again. Thanks, Struway2 (talk) 10:45, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Block warning[edit]

Back in June, I warned you about copying content directly from websites. You just did it again, on the same article I speedily deleted. That's not very clever. Do it again, and I'll block you from editing. To make it plain: DO NOT COPY FROM OTHER WEBSITES. Fences&Windows 00:05, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Stefan Kendal Gordy has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Stian Sortevik, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Stian Sortevik and Franck Boli[edit]

Hi there.

I noticed that you created two new articles about footballers in Tippeligaen, Stian Sortevik and Franck Boli, and as I can see from your contributions, you have created articles about Norwegian footballers before, keep up the good work!. Though, there are a thing you should be aware of: Per WP:NFOOTY, footballers need to have played a match in a fully professional league, not just be a part of a squad, before they are eligible for an article on English wikipedia. That means that the articles about Sortevik and Boli are eligible for deletion as they have not played a match in Tippeligaen. The Norwegian wikipedia does not have the same guidelines for footballers as the en:wiki, so you should check the notability guidelines before you translate another article from no:wiki. Footballer stats[edit]

Hello, and thanks for trying to keep footballer infoboxes up to date. When you do the stats, please will you also update the as-of date, this is the parameter called pcupdate or club-update, and should contain the date/time at which the stats are correct. The easy way to update it is to replace the existing contents with 5 tilde characters ~~~~~, which the software will automatically convert to the current date/time.

If you update player appearances without changing the date to match, you're making the information wrong and making work for others. Thanks, Mentoz86 (talk) 19:43, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for September 24[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Bård Finne, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Norwegian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
