The Absolute Universe (AU) is an upcoming American comic book shared universe to be overseen by Scott Snyder and published by DC Comics. As part of the DC All In initiative, it will be a separate continuity from the DC Universe, debuting in the aftermath of the Absolute Power crossover event. The AU will begin in October 2024.[1]

Publication history

[edit]

The Absolute Universe (AU) is an all-new continuity separate from the DC Universe (DCU) overseen by Scott Snyder as part of the DC All In initiative.[2] According to Snyder, while the DCU is "influenced by Superman energy", the AU is "influenced by Darkseid energy", making society treat its superheroes as underdogs.[3][4]

The AU will begin October 2024 with the DC All-In Special. The first titles to be released in the AU are Absolute Batman by Scott Snyder with Nick Dragota, and Absolute Wonder Woman by Kelly Thompson and Hayden Sherman. In November, Absolute Superman by Jason Aaron and Rafa Sandoval will debut.[5][6]

Two new titles were announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, Absolute Flash by Jeff Lemire and Nick Robles, along with Absolute Green Lantern by Al Ewing and Jahnoy Lindsay.[7][8]
