Talk:Michael J. Fox

How should the lede sentence refer to Michael J. Fox? Recently, there has been debate on what his lede should say, and I thought I'd get more opinions on this. Fox was born and raised in Canada, has dual Canadian and American citizenship, becoming a U.S citizen in 2000, and has been described as being "Canadian-American". Fox still "strongly identifies" as being Canadian, but has acknowledged also having American citizenship (he's used it to vote) and currently resides in the United States.

Should the Users Distribution and History tables include flags using the Project Flag Template? The argument is whether or not flags in these tables are merely decorative or actually serve a purpose.

Example: {{flag|USA}} -> USA

Flags were initially included when the tables were first added to this page (Added Diffs: Users Distribution & History) back in April of 2013 by Starpromi. Then, recently, in January of 2021, MB removed all of the flags (Removed Diffs: Users Distribution & History) from the tables citing: rmv flag icons per [Manual of Style], purely decorational

I liked the flags in the tables but am torn between whether or not they were functional. I welcome you to review the Manual of Style/Icons page for yourself. More specifically, please review the Flags and Inappropriate use/Encyclopedic purpose sections before responding. - Dynamiccookies (talk

Talk:Eskimo kissing

The current article is centred on the Western gesture called "Eskimo kiss" which is based on the "Kunik" gesture from Inuit culture. I am trying to solicit opinions from editors about how to change the article subject. Here are some suggestions -

Option 1 - Change to Nose rub - Change to a general article about nose rub. Explain the various types of nose rubs in different cultures
Option 2 - Centre on Eskimo kiss - Centre the article on the Western gesture called "Eskimo kiss" (explain anything else in context)
Option 3 - Centre on Kunik - Centre the article on the Inuit gesture "Kunik" (explain anything else in context)
Option 4 - Split Kunik into a new article - As Kunik may not the same as Eskimo kiss

One user finds it odd that an organisation which claims 14,000 members has only 133 twitter followers, and feels the membership quote needs the source specified in text in the lead. WP:EXCEPTIONAL

One user argues that the membership numbers can go RAW in the infobox WP:ABOUTSELF

Both users have agreed to respect the recommendations of WP:RSN as per https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard#swordofthespirit.net_for_basic_information_about_Sword_of_the_Spirit.
