This is a list of Arkansas Razorbacks in the NFL Draft that includes every former Arkansas Razorbacks player who was selected in the NFL Draft and a list of any achievements that occurred during their NFL career.Note1 Each NFL franchise seeks to add new players through the annual NFL Draft. Teams select players in inverse order based on the team's previous record; the team with the worst record picks first, the team with the second-worst record picks second, and so on. The exceptions to the record-based order are the teams that appeared in the previous Super Bowl with the winner picking last. Teams also have the option of trading their picks to other teams in exchange for other picks or players. Selections are made during seven different rounds. |

Arkansas Razorbacks Football |
Arkansas Razorbacks Football |
Revision as of 05:16, 12 July 2008
This is a list of Arkansas Razorbacks in the NFL Draft that includes every former Arkansas Razorbacks player who was selected in the NFL Draft and a list of any achievements that occurred during their NFL career.[a] Each NFL franchise seeks to add new players through the annual NFL Draft. Selections are made during seven different rounds.[1]
The University of Arkansas has drafted 257 players into the NFL since the first NFL Draft in 1936 and has never been selected with the first overall selection; their highest draft position was second overall in 1954, when Lamar McHan was selected by the Chicago Cardinals.[2][3] Arkansas' first drafted player in the NFL was Jack Robbins, who was drafted with the fifth overall pick by the Chicago Cardinals in the 1938 NFL Draft.[4] Six players were selected from the 2008 NFL Draft with the highest selection being running back Darren McFadden, who was picked fourth overall by the Oakland Raiders.[3][5]
There are 16 players that have been elected to a Pro Bowl or an All-Star Game and 19 players that have won a championship with their respective teams.[x] Eighteen drafted players are still active in the NFL: Jamaal Anderson, Shawn Andrews, David Barrett, Michael Coe, Nate Garner, Ken Hamlin, Marcus Harrison, Peyton Hillis, Chris Houston, Tarvaris Jackson, Keith Jackson Jr., Felix Jones, Matt Jones , Darren McFadden, Marcus Monk, Tony Ugoh, Dante Wesley, and Bobbie Williams.[y]
