Maeda joined AKB48 in 2005 as part of the AKB48 1st Member with the audition. In this audition, 24 members were elected from 7024 candidates.

Major Debut

AKB48 released "AITAKATTA" from the major label "DefSTER Records Inc.". (Before this disk, two disks were released as indies disks.) In this song, 20 members are selected from the 36 members (in TeamA & TeamK). Maeda is one of this selected member, and she performed leading role in the promortion video in this song.

Unit Shuffle

The news of shuffling AKB48 units was announced in the final day of AKB48 1st Concert"AITAKATTA-There is no poles"in NIHON SEINENKAN. In this announcement, members were separate into "Team Roses" and "Team Lilies" taking the place of "TeamA "and "TeamK". Maeda is the member of "Team Lilies".
