Need help

Hi, fellow user. I need a help. I have nominated an article for WP:GA. The article was about a very famous political figure in India. The article was nominated but I haven't got any reviews yet. So, please go to the talk page of this article Arvind Kejriwal and follow the link to the nomination page given at the top of the articles talk page and review it. Thankyou for your cooporation. Rudra john cena (talk) 06:13, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There are currently almost 250 articles awaiting a GA review, and quite a few of those have waited far longer than yours. Please be patient. That said, I'm a little concerned that a good article candidate is rather heavily based on primary sources. Huon (talk) 22:24, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

In case you didn't know (and [1]), spaces are normally used with punctuation marks.

Instead of this:
  • I like bunnies(rabbits). They are not only cute, but friendly too.
Try this:
  • I like bunnies (rabbits). They are not only cute, but friendly too.

Thank you, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 08:12, 1 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

About using the spacebar, again

Please, please, please try to add spaces correctly. Others have to come and fix up your edits otherwise. Please compare your userpage to a random article to see where spaces are used. Many thanks for your cooperation. I am very grateful. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 13:30, 3 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your userpage and future at Wikipedia

Hello there. I don't normally ever do this, but I've helped with the spaces around punctuation at your user page. Please see User:Anna Frodesiak/Green sandbox. Carefully compare that page with your user page. Pay special attention to the spaces around punctuation. See what I've done? As you are a writer, I'm sure it will be helpful. Also, as I am sure you are about to start to build the encyclopedia and not just work on your fine userpage, this will help you make good edits that won't need cleaning up. Adding spaces after full stops and commas is extremely important. You must know this as you've been reading English all your life.

You are welcome to use the version at User:Anna Frodesiak/Green sandbox. There are still some issues with it, but that's up to you.

I also took the liberty of reducing the photo because it was so large that it covered all of the links we need.

I wish you happy editing in the encyclopedia. Please feel free to start right away. Best wishes, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 23:39, 3 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 09:53, 5 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Hero Motocorp SuperSplendor

Hello Rudra john cena,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Hero Motocorp SuperSplendor for deletion, because it seems to be vandalism or a hoax.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Itsalleasy (talk) 18:07, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Hero Motocorp SuperSplendor

Hi, I'm Itsalleasy. Rudra john cena, thanks for creating Hero Motocorp SuperSplendor!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Article is about Hero Motocorp SuperSplendor however the page is about bike of another company which is not acceptable as per encyclopedia standards.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Itsalleasy (talk) 18:10, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

  • In this and other edits, you linked lots of common words. Per WP:OVERLINK, that is not appropriate.

The first issue is minor. The second one, the copyright violation, is very serious. You must never do that again, okay?

Please read some of the helpful links located at the welcome at the top of your page. That will help. Also, see other articles to know how to make constructive edits.

Best wishes, and if there's anything you need, please just ask. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 08:33, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyvio

You uploaded File:Peregrine falcon(Falco peregrinus).jpeg as your own work saying "... The photo was taken in Kalahari Desert by User:Rudra John Cena...." Well, I think that is quite unlikely per http://encyclopedia2.thefreedictionary.com/peregrine.

What do you have to say? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 13:14, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Another

You say that's in the public domain. I'm not sure you understand the meaning of the term. Publicly available is perhaps what you are thinking. Nowhere do I see that the image is in the public domain. Please explain, and please don't upload any more images unless you are certain about the copyright status. Thank you, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:52, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I got File:Sunderban White Tiger.jpg in a personal website http://www.com-pedia.webs.com but today I searched the site again but maybe the photo was removed. I got the photo while I am browsing in google so I request you Anna Frodesiak to remove the tag of deletation from the picture and please help me to describe that I havent uploaded the photo for unfare means. Please cooporate.Rudra john cena (talk) 07:56, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Tineye shows this image at 251 other websites. You uploaded it as author Gobinda Sinha. Your userpage says you are Rudra Pratap Sinha.
The description for the image you added is exactly the same as here.
To explain copyrights: If you don't own it, and the source doesn't explicitly say that you can use it, then you are not permitted to upload it to Wikipedia or Commons. It's pretty simple.
So, do you own the photo? If you can explain how you do own it, then we can remove the deletion tag. Best wishes, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 08:07, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The site from were I got the image was similar to flickr so the source of the site says that I can use it. And this photo is not licenced to any copyright so I can use it. The owner of the photo have no objections that is why I uploaded it in wiki. So please Anna Frodesiak remove the deletion tag. Rudra john cena (talk) 08:53, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You must show that the owner of the image says it is in the public domain. Can you show us that? The absence of a copyright statement is not enough. And again, you also claimed the author as "Gobinda Sinha" and you userpage says your name is "Rudra Pratap Sinha". Please explain. Thank you, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 09:00, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The photo was copied and uploaded in numerous sites by many people so finding the actual author of the picture is impossible. And the site from were I downloaded it, has deleted that photo. So I cannot find it now. Can you do me a favour, can you just edit the licence part of the photo and change it into "I dont know" so that no one have any problem regarding that photo and change the author name into unknown. So please can you do it Anna Frodesiak If you can do it then deletion tag can be removed. Rudra john cena (talk) 09:17, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry. I cannot help. The fact that 251 others have simply taken the photo to use makes it difficult to find the owner. It is a professional photo and is almost certainly owned by somebody. Please let it go and please don't upload any more images that you don't own. Thank you for your understanding. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 09:21, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Thank you for helping me. Rudra john cena (talk) 09:31, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Anna Frodesiak I need a help. Can you please tell me how to nominate a good article for featuring in the main page of wikipedia. You can send me the link to the nomination page. Thankyou for your help. Rudra john cena (talk) 10:05, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Here you go: WP:FAC. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 10:11, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You also claimed the author as "Gobinda Sinha" and you userpage says your name is "Rudra Pratap Sinha". Please explain. Thank you, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:20, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Admrboltz. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Wikipedia talk:Good article nominations without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry: I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Hi. Admrboltz can you tell me what has I removed mistakenly. Rudra john cena (talk) 21:01, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You blanked the section regarding your drive by reviews on the page linked above. You can not blank other user's comments, especially if they are about you. --AdmrBoltz 21:02, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry it was a technical problem.

False claims on your user page

Hello Rudra john cena. On your user page you claim to be an "administrator of wikipedia", but you are not. Please remove this claim. As you do not write English at a professional level, you may also wish to remove that claim. Regards, --Stfg (talk) 20:54, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I second the message about claiming to already be an admin here; you should remove that (especially since there is currently a banner below it stating that you are being considered for adminship). Yngvadottir (talk) 21:37, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If the user does not remove the false claims (being an admin and being considered for adminship) within a reasonable length of time, I think one of us should boldly do it. I hesitate to edit another editor's userpage, but we can't let these false claims stand. --MelanieN (talk) 00:20, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your RfA

Rudra john cena: I am going to ask you to withdraw your RfA. You have only 164 edits including the few that have been deleted, and although you say in the RfA that you have edited Wikipedia for 2 years, you only registered this account 3 months ago, on October 19, 2013. If you had a previous account or are counting contributions on a project other than en.wikipedia, you should have explained that at the RfA, but as it is, you do not have the minimum experience here that the community expects of an administrator. In addition, you have had problems with some of our expectations of editors, some of which remain unresolved. You have also failed to transclude the RfA; competence with things like following those instructions is another thing people look for in evaluating candidates for adminship. It's too soon and is likely to be a bit embarrassing for you, so I'm asking you to withdraw before someone else closes it. Yngvadottir (talk) 21:35, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Also, should you choose to proceed, please ensure you properly list your RfA. --AdmrBoltz 22:15, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've closed the RFA per WP:NOTNOW (and WP:SNOW.) I think you should take on board the comments other editors have made, and remember that Wikipedia is extremely complex both in terms of the process and the community. Hang around for a bit and learn how it all works, but start with something more straightforward like WP:STUBs. Jamesx12345 22:44, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You should take help...

Hi! If at all you mean to stay longer on Wikipedia for editing, you can still try. But you should take some help from editors who are well-versed at this and who are very patient and polite in teaching. You can reach out to editors through WP:Adopt-a-user project. Many editors will elsewise also help you in smaller stuff. But its better to have a mentor. They usually have a planned training sort of schedule, with guidance and timely evaluations and many barnstar awarding too. Think about it before its too late. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 04:06, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

On giving yourself special service awards

Dear Rudra John Cena, i see you've been giving yourself a number of service awards. I am sorry to say but you're undeserving of these since you don't meet any of the two requirements needed to get the awards. You've given yourself the vanguard editor award its counterpart which requires a wikipedian period of 16 years an at least 132,000 edits and also the Master editor 4 award which requires time period of at least 10 years and total edit count of more than 70,000. You clearly don't meet the requirements needed for them and as thus, you should remove them from your user page. In fact, unless you've been contributing through another account or IP address, you don't even meet the requirements for experienced editor. Therefore i kindly request you to remove these awards from your user page as it would be unkind to other deserving wikipedians.

On being a good articles mentor

Dear Rudra John Cena, its very good of you to be willing to help others but i must request you to kindly remove your name from the good article's mentors list since you clearly don't seem to be well acquainted in the good articles' nomination and related processes yourself, let alone helping others in becoming familiar with it. You've been (Seemingly) nominating random articles for good articles nominations (To the extent that you nominated the Big Bang article for nomination even though it was already a Featured Article). Therefore kindly remove your name from good articles' mentors list so that newcomers looking for help in the field might not get misleaded.

On showing yourself as a person able to contribute in professional level English

Dear Rudra John Cena, you claim to be able to write in professional level English when it is clear (Through your writings) that this is not true. While it is acceptable that you are able to understand and write in English your English is not professional level, therefore kindly change your English level specification from 5 to a lower, more appropriate level.

Thank You :-)

King Of The Wise (talk) 12:19, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I know one should not edit other's user pages and what's more - i have not

Hey what did you mean telling me all this stuff about not editing other's user pages? I never have and i have not even touched your user page if you mean that. Any change done was done by someone else not me please do see your user page's History.

Also what did you mean by there being many other people with undeserving service awards on their page? That is no reason for it to be right for you to do. That's like saying i commited robbery because hundreds of others do so. That many people do the wrong thing DOES NOT make it RIGHT .

In addition you commented on my english taking my comments on your talk page as reference. Can you please tell me what mistakes I had made? And if you think i was wrong in saying your english is not upto the mark i can very well show you proofs (also the same has been said multiple times by other users). So please don't go on writing anything on my talk page just coz' i pointed out your mistakes.

Also if you are or were in anyway hurt by anything i had said i am sorry (i had said this in my previous comments too). I think i was polite enough and did not say anything uncivil. Still i say sorry yet again coz' i don't want to be on wrong terms with you (or anyone)

Thank You

David Reigle

I've placed this article as an scetch! in my namespace! and not official articlespace. He is not finished! and not yet published!. So what are your reasons? --Teutobald (talk) 14:17, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Teutobald sorry, I haven't understand what is you tring to tell me. Please explain properly. Thank you . Rudra john cena (talk) 14:24, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
the article is not finished and not yet published so why should it be deleted? --Teutobald (talk) 14:26, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Teutobald If you are working on the article then you must put {{In creation}}above the article . So that pattrolers can understand that the editor is working in the article and no deletion tag must be put. From next time you must put this tag above the article.Rudra john cena (talk) 14:38, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks but is this one deleted? I thought he would be in my private section, so that only I can see him? How can I do that? Thanks --Teutobald (talk) 14:43, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Teutobald you can use your sandbox that is given in top of every Wiki page to create or experiment any article . If you create any article in your sandbox no one will interfere in that article. And if you need any assistance in Wiki you can ask me. Rudra john cena (talk) 15:00, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's what I wanted to do. I'll try it. Thanks for the help --Teutobald (talk) 15:12, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) You can also create named pages in your userspace. For example, you could create User:Teutobald/David Reigle. If you do this, you should place {{Userspace draft}} at the top of the page, and remove it when you move the page into article space. Hope this helps. --Stfg (talk) 15:18, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please have a look at my first article: David Reigle now, if it is OK and can be released? Thanks --Teutobald (talk) 08:24, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Teutobald I have seen your article and it was pretty good. If you don't have any problem then I like to do some changes. Rudra john cena (talk) 08:53, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Feel free to make it better, but let us first discuss, befor you delete content. --Teutobald (talk) 08:58, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Some more categories would be fine... --Teutobald (talk) 09:01, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Teutobald I had given a new infobox for the article. You can edit it and can mention more details about Daniel Reigle. Your article also needs some more reference based on online sources. Rudra john cena (talk) 09:19, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that. Where exactly more sources needed? And what if such a thing does not exist? --Teutobald (talk) 09:22, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Teutobald Online sources are not always necessary. So if there is no online sources then just leave it. You can add more information about Daniel Reigle.

I think you can now publish the article. I pattroled it just few minutes ago and found no problems. Rudra john cena (talk) 09:51, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Can you do this for me, because I cannot do this yet. Thank you very much. --Teutobald (talk) 10:22, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why 4 request? Make this sense or should I delete 3? --Teutobald (talk) 10:59, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Teutobald you can delete 4 request. Due to technical problem I requested it 4times. You have to put this {{subst:submit}} at the top of your article. So that it can be reviewed by other users.
I will be offline for few hours. You can leave me a message I will reply you later. Thank you. Rudra john cena (talk) 11:50, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your help. It is online. I also linked it from the existing page Book of Dzyan so I deleted the orphan box. --Teutobald (talk) 13:28, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Teutobald welcome. If you need any more assistance you can feel free to ask.

Beside this I think you must create your own user page. Every registered user has his own user page. Rudra john cena (talk) 14:11, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I have made it so. Thanks for your assistance --Teutobald (talk) 14:43, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Patrol

Hi. I appreciate your enthusiasm but please do not patrol new pages. With only 65 edits to mainspace you do not yet have enough experience to be doing this. Also, I do not feel that your knowledge of English is sufficient to identify some of the issues we encounter with new pages. In the meantime, you may wish to read more about patrolling pages at WP:NPP. Thanks. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 15:40, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

To add to Kudpung's good advice: The best way to become a Wikipedian is to edit articles. Start by reading articles on subjects that interest you and making small changes. Then make larger changes, add references, do things to expand and improve existing articles. After you have learned your way around article pages, article histories, article talk pages etc., then you can begin creating articles. When you see how your articles are received (do people correct them or propose them for deletion?) you will gather more understanding of how things work here. The problem is that you have been trying to start at the end point instead of the beginning. You have been nominating Good Articles or judging the articles of others without the necessary experience to do it properly. I think you will be a great Wikipedian someday but you need to be willing to "start at the beginning" and learn. If you keep doing things that are beyond your experience, you are likely to keep getting negative feedback. --MelanieN (talk) 22:17, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination declined

I have declined your speedy deletion nomination of Tumba Laurent Fabrice, as I don't agree that the article is too short to identify the subject of the article: it is perfectly clear that the subject of the article is a Congolese footballer named "Tumba Laurent Fabrice". The article is completely sourced, and so qualifies for WP:PROD BLP, but if you want to propose deletion by that route, I suggest leaving it for a day or two first. That will give the new editor who created the article a chance to find sources without being bitten by having a succession of deletion warnings one after another just after he or she has started editing. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:08, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

JamesBWatson ok. I will pattrol the article again after few days. And I suggest you to give a welcome message to the new editor and give him/her instructions about how he/she can contribute in future. Rudra john cena (talk) 11:25, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Rudra john cena. Unfortunately I need to reiterate Kudpung's request that you stop patrolling and curating articles. You do not have the necessary experience or, in some cases, proficiency in English to carry out this function. You should start small by making contributions to smaller established articles and familiarizing yourself with this environment before you attempt more important tasks. You have recently marked a page for speedy deletion that did not meet the criteria; additionally, you skipped over an obviously promotional article that should have been deleted. If you do not voluntarily stop, we may have to seek a community topic ban that will compel you to stop performing these functions. --Laser brain (talk) 12:34, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 12:45, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Rudra john cena (talk) 12:47, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I agree too. You should definitely stop doing things you're ill-experienced at. And please remove the - " this user is a new page patroller " userbox from your User page, so as not to mislead others into thinking you 'are' one.
