Retired?
Can this be true? Very sorry if so, but maybe a bit of a rest will see you willing to return. Cheers, Johnbod (talk) 17:31, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
- I second that. Please do come back! Eddie891 Talk Work 00:42, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- If it's official this time, then you will be missed. Snuggums (talk / edits) 20:06, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- I second that. Please do come back! Eddie891 Talk Work 00:42, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
Very sorry to see you go. You've done some remarkable work and The World Contest was an amazing achievement. Hope you come back some time. The Drover's Wife (talk) 21:53, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- Agreed. This is most unfortunate. I hope to see you back sometime, though I understand the need for a break, Lord knows. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 17:24, 26 February 2018 (UTC)

- I wonder if this disappearance (I didn't count, but remember a time when I maintained your DYK records, Dr. Blofeld) has to do with my response on the talk of St. Lubentius, Dietkirchen? I hope not. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:33, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
R-Retired? Blofeld? What...? This doesn't bode well. I hope it isn't permanent. –Vami_IV✠ 23:03, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
- Dr. B. you are an icon around here. You were the first to tally up more than 1,500 articles for DYK, and then you initiated and ran the enormously successful World Contests. We need you to stay as the face of Wikipedia! Yoninah (talk) 00:09, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
- Adding my voice to this. Hope you're reading this to see the voices clamouring for your return. I'm not sure what may have prompted your sudden retirement, but whatever it is, these things come and go on Wikipedia usually. Things happen that seem to make no sense, and we lose faith for a while, but ultimately what we're doing is so beneficial that it's worth sticking around for. And your contests like the Africa destubathon went over and beyond that, because they were catalysts for much larger numbers of editors to dive in and improve vital vital areas of the site. I very much hope we'll see you back to continue that good work. — Amakuru (talk) 22:47, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Sanjog.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Sanjog.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:46, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
Rtd
Sorry to see it Doc - and I hope it will turn into a break, rather than full retirement. I know how you feel though; there seems to be a fair amount of grudge-bearing and pettiness, and a lack of focus on actually building an encyclopaedia. Cheers - SchroCat (talk) 19:36, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
Retired!
"No. That's not True! That's impossible!" Yeh nahi ho sakta! First Jaguar, now your good self! But I know why you chose this decision and I knew it took a toll on all of us, you most of all. As SchroCat mentioned, I hope it turns out to be a wikibreak as no one deserves it more. If thats so, then please come back soon. I will always cherish the endeavours on which we collaborated together (like Rod Steiger, for instance). It was indeed an honour and a privilege to have known you, Dr. Blofeld. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 15:02, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Ssven2: Please don't link to bootleg YouTube uploads of film clips. The quote is recognizable enough by itself, anyway.
- And Dr. Blofeld -- shit, that is a loss for the project ... Hope to see you back some day!

Happy St. David's Day
The leek is one of the national emblems of Wales, worn along with the daffodil (in Welsh, the daffodil is known as "Peter's leek", Cenhinen Bedr) on St. David's Day. According to one legend, King Cadwaladr of Gwynedd ordered his soldiers to identify themselves by wearing the vegetable on their helmets in an ancient battle against the Saxons that took place in a leek field.[1] Cheers!‑ ‑ Gareth Griffith‑Jones The Welsh Buzzard ‑ ‑ 15:55, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
