Re:OSU Bowl Games

Check out this link, from OSU's football media guide. It isn't updated for this year, so it only lists 11 of them. I'm assuming the source you were looking at either 1) Does not include the now-defunct pinapple bowl or 2) Has not updated in a few years. You can see the results at Oregon State Beavers bowl game history, which also lists a 13th bowl game (but is a non-postseason bowl game, so is usually and justifiably not included). Can you change your signature, it makes the whole line bigger and the black background contrasts with the default page background. I suggest changing the background color to a lighter color and making it smaller (2pt size).

Sorry, you're right. My pupils must have been dilated. I guess I just thought that it increased the line height because the background took up more of the line than the actual text, a little detail I overlooked last night because I was tired and my judgment deteriorated. Finally, did you know that Strand National Historic Landmark District is the Texan Collaboration of the Month? This collaboration has sort of died down and is no longer a monthly thing. Category: Global internet community

I have no idea what this means. I originally deleted it from the various pages it linked to, because when I clicked on the category, a message appeared saying that no such category exists on the Wikipedia (I see now that this message no longer appears and someone has placed this category under Internet culture). I personally think this category is meaningless, but I reverted my deletions because I read WP:Categories and realized that I had no authority to remove the tags. The creator is User:RocketJohnson. block to Puerto Rico

Well, I really don't knowif it is warranted, i'm hoping people with more knowledge and experience will discuss it. The thing is that im starting to notice a lot of vandalism from unregistered users, people we can't really block because they are usually IP addr. shared by schools, etc.

Thank you for your welcome. There clearly is a problem as this morning the page has again reverted to prior to any of my edits, but this time another editor has very politely written to me on my User Talk page and noted that my contribution may not meet guidelines for biographies of people they know. I do take his point.

I think easiest would be if you would be so kind as to permanently delete all of my edits and my User Page please. This is definately the best solution. I didn't realise when I added contribution that it was was less than straightforward. I shall instead look to putting the details my father wants on a privately hosted web page over which I am administrator - makes more sense really.

I shall write back and thank the editor who took the trouble to explain the problem, and mark the page for quick deletion - I hope I have this correct.

Please do this for me, and thanks for your help.

To be honest, it didn't occur to me not to change it. I've a feeling that it may have been spelled like that in the past at some point, but I'm not sure. Certainly I know that the pages using the navbox don't really have any words where American English spells things differently from British English, so I'm not sure the WP:MOS section on National varieties of English makes much difference either way.

Fair enough. No, I've not seen anything specific about the articles that leads me to believe they favour a particular variety of English, merely that I'm quite familiar with the articles and tend to move things to consistent use of British English when appropriate and wasn't really paying as much attention as I should have been when making that edit. No, I think since the article is a stub, it's ok to leave it there. A lot of articles that are just starting out have true but unsourced statements (surely, some even have false and unsourced statements!) But if you can find a book or website that verifies what you added, it would be great if you added that citation to the article - and that will help other editors locate information that can be added. If you can't find a book or article or website, post a note on the article's talk page and someone else will surely try. Personal observations are a great place to start, and an excellent academic exercise, but not the ultimate goal of Wikipedia. *Mishatx*-In\Out 05:58, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

• I thought I would see what reaction it got first before doing more. I don't want to annoy and I can see it takes a lot to set up a template but I think one should build content at the same time. For example there are an awful lot of year in Australia articles that are redlinked. I think a template that is empty of content is much worse than a red link and doesn't actually prompt for anything.
