::::::Hello @[[User:Lady Meg|Lady Meg]] good morning from this part of the world. As a historian and university history professor (I also clarify that I have Howard family ancestry from my maternal grandmother, descending from the Effingham branch) I am always guided by other study webpages like this one: <nowiki>https://thefreelancehistorywriter.com/2017</nowiki> /08/25/elizabeth-stafford-duchess-of-norfolk/ . The same portrait is also on that webpage. Knowing and contributing about my ancestral family is great and if I made a mistake, I want to remedy it so I don't have problems and look good with fellow Wikipedians since I use Wikipedia a lot to prepare the papers that I later give to the students of the chair in which I teach (world history) in Legal Law (Legal Sciences or Bar) at the Universidad Católica de Chile. Greetings from Santiago de Chile. [[User:LuisCanelo.MJ|LuisCanelo.MJ]] ([[User talk:LuisCanelo.MJ|talk]]) 09:09, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Gladamas. I noticed that you recently removed all content from Abadía de Rufford with this edit without explaining why. Hi Leito.Cmj, I'm DanCherek and I am a Wikipedia administrator. I realize that it has been frustrating to see the text at Thomas Howard, 4th Duke of Norfolk removed and redacted, especially after you said that tudorpalace.com.ar has given you the authorization to use it on Wikipedia. However, we have an established protocol at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials#Granting us permission to copy material already online that editors need to follow in situations like these. Essentially, the copyright holder can either modify their website to indicate that the material is compatibly licensed, or they can correspond with a Wikipedia volunteer who is a part of a team called the Volunteer Response Team (VRT), who will confirm that they are the copyright owner and have taken the necessary steps. One of those two verification procedures needs to happen before the text on that website can be added to any article. It's not that we disbelieve you, but this is needed to ensure that all protocols are properly followed. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 23:39, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hans Holbein. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello, I am not a vandal, I am simply a humble historian who also teaches, being a history teacher at a High School here in Argentina and I want to give my best contributions to history. Leito.Cmj (talk) 08:41, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not you, the other editor is a vandal. They randomly undo edits and leave "warnings. I suggest you delete both of these "warnings" from your talk page. Muhandes (talk) 08:44, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are absolutely right, friend Muhandes, that Mister WOGnam only threatens and threatens when we try to correct a specific point in history. I am a historian who loves to make specific and concrete contributions. Leito.Cmj (talk) 16:16, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Leito.Cmj, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as LuisCanelo.MJ (talk · contribs). The guy uploaded a portrait of a woman that remains unnamed as the Duchess of Norfolk. I’ve had to edit several pages and take the portrait out. Lady Meg (talk) 16:14, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Lady Meg the portrait was uploaded by the user @LuisCanelo.MJ and by the way there is some advice for Luis: the next time you upload a portrait, check the source if it is about such a person or not, because they can suspend you from Wikipedia. It's good advice, don't take it badly or anything, it's just advice so that you do better and have a better relationship with Wikipedians. Greetings. Leito.Cmj (talk) 17:05, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello people @Lady Meg @Leito.Cmj and fellow Wikipedians, good afternoon from this side of the world. I admit I made a mistake, but I was mainly guided by this video on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YStjSMK_Sxc . If the video is unreliable, let me know and I will try not to watch any more sites with unreliable sources. Greetings from Chile. LuisCanelo.MJ (talk) 17:23, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Those videos on that channel are like sensational videos. There’s no source confirming the identity of that portrait in the video. I still don’t understand where the portrait came from. Did you take a screenshot? There is no portrait of the Duchess by Joos Ban Cleve. The guy was living in Antwerp. Don’t think he ever went to England. Lady Meg (talk) 07:12, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Agnes Howard, Duchess of Norfolk into Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Ninja Diannaa (Talk) 14:54, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Trainsandotherthings. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Seaboard System Railroad, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 15:20, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Trainsandotherthings the unit CSX #1982 has just gone into service. Source: https://www.facebook.com/100064785813730/posts/658178709684984/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v Leito.Cmj (talk) 16:01, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That is not a reliable source. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 16:02, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect. Now I'm going to redo the note but quoting the two reliable sources of information I got: Trains Magazine and the official CSX website itself. Leito.Cmj (talk) 16:16, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thank you very much for the warning. Greetings. Leito.Cmj (talk) 14:52, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly it hurts me that articles as beautiful as that one are eliminated but hey, copyright must be respected. Leito.Cmj (talk) 18:33, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hola @Diannaa good evening, with all due respect I think it is unfair that the user @Leito.Cmj who has made so many contributions about my ancestral Howard family (I am very surprised of what he knows, which is a lot and I congratulate to him for that big knowledge) is going to be blocked for copyright violation.
Do you know how many authorship violations I saw on Wikipedia? Many and many of those publications turn a blind eye.
I express myself both in my native Spanish and in English to show my discontent about this threat made to this user, whom I would love to meet personally to congratulate him for his knowledge of Howard, my ancestral family. Greetings from Chile. CarlosSwinforeHoward (talk) 23:32, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Now you've committed yet another copyright violation; this time, you blatantly stole a copyrighted image from the internet and uploaded it as your own work, and then added it to an article. My patience is fast wearing out with your repeated copyright violations. Any further ones and I will be reporting you to ANI for an indefinite block. Again, this is your last warning. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 21:38, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Trainsandotherthings good evening, it is unfair that this user is blocked for something that he could have done innocently and perhaps hastily, without realizing the consequences. Many times we make rude mistakes and we regret it, but a mistake is not a reason for blocking. From mistakes you have to learn to never make them again. CarlosSwinforeHoward (talk) 03:00, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @CarlosSwinforeHoward I thank you with all my heart for defending me. I have made rash mistakes without realizing the consequences. Once again I thank you. Leito.Cmj (talk) 03:03, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia has rules, and respecting copyright is among the most important. Your protestations are irrelevant. We all have to follow the rules. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 14:19, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Trainsandotherthings you are right yes, doing things rashly yes, it is ugly and brings adverse consequences. Once again I apologize for my bad behavior. Leito.Cmj (talk) 14:39, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You still don't get it. It doesn't matter if you attributed or not, you still do not have permission to upload images that are not released under a free license. It is becoming clear you lack the competence to edit on Wikipedia. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 00:30, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Trainsandotherthings you'll see that this time I'm going to behave well. Greetings and a big hug from Argentina. Leito.Cmj (talk) 00:52, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The only reason I haven't hauled you off to ANI is that I'm extremely tired and need to be up at 5 am tomorrow. If I see another copyright violation by you, you will not be so lucky. STOP uploading photos that you do not have the rights to, IMMEDIATELY. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 00:54, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You will see that I am going to behave well... I make the promise and I am going to fulfill it to the letter. Leito.Cmj (talk) 00:56, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
