Information icon Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Roger Ebert—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Well, I thought it was a little heavy on quotes, is all. If you like it, terrific. (I like it myself, it just seems a bit quote heavy.) Charlie Faust (talk) 03:28, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article moved to draft space

Hi, I moved your recent article to draft space by giving valid edit summary. Please check and improve if you're interested. Please let me know if you have any questions and I'll be happy to answer them. Happy editing! :-) Maliner (talk) 08:32, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Cool, thanks for the feedback.
I think the song is worthy of a page as it was the basis of a music video by a major director and was covered by a major artist (among other reasons.)
Any advice for reliable sources on music? Charlie Faust (talk) 00:24, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm BlueboyLINY. I noticed that you recently removed content from Little Richard without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. BlueboyLINY (talk) 01:56, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

OK. There's a wealth of material, as befitting an artist as influential as Richard, but it seemed to me poorly organized. It seems like it could usefully be arranged in something like chronological order, starting with Richie Valens, through the Beatles and Stones, Hendrix, David Bowie and Elton John, to AC/DC... Won't remove anything without adequate explanation. Charlie Faust (talk) 02:03, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A lot seems like it could be better written: "The Beatles were heavily influenced, especially Paul McCartney and George Harrison." Well, yes, The Beatles were heavily influenced by many things, but this article is about Richard. Better to specify "The Beatles were heavily by Little Richard."
Or this: "Late 1960s hard rock and heavy metal pioneer John Kay of Steppenwolf, as a young teen who did not understand the English language in East Prussia in the mid-1950s, was first inspired by rock 'n' roll music upon hearing Little Richard's 'Tutti Frutti' on a U.S. Armed Forces station." Kind of a log sentence, and by this point in the article, I think readers know who performed ''Tutti Frutti", so "Richard's 'Tutti Frutti" is somewhat superfluous. Charlie Faust (talk) 02:13, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Anyway, thanks for the heads up, won't remove content without explanation again. Charlie Faust (talk) 03:11, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Stephen King shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
